Three Ghost Friends Smile on a Stick

This may be the simplest craft available that goes along with the Three Ghost Friends series, but it helped all of my kids smile! Just download, print, cut and glue and I guarantee your kids will be smiling too.

We used tongue depressors for our sticks but you could use straws, plastic spoons, or even pencils.

Lego Three Ghost Friends

This weekend, I was at Target with my boys looking up and down every aisle of toys.  We spent the most time looking at the new Monster Fighters sets in the Lego aisle. The Lego Ghost Train Set caught my son's eye.  He said, "Hey, Three Ghost Friends!" Well, not really, but the set does come with three ghost mini-figures.
The activity below fits perfectly with Three Ghost Friends: Learn About Opposites!
Click Here to Buy for only 99 cents! The experience at Target reminded me that in my eBook, Three Ghost Friends: Learn About Opposites, the Three Ghost Friends build ghosts out of legos to show "Ghosts small."  I thought my boys would really enjoy making ghosts out of Legos.
My son was a little overwhelmed at first. So, I made the first ghost as a model. His younger brother also joined in to provide some assistance. That was all the help he needed to figure it out! He was really happy with Lego Ghost Friend.  He said that his ghost had a "Boo face." Three Ghost Friends Legos!

Three Ghost Friends: Halloween Paint-in-a-Jar

Recreate the Three Ghost Friends: Learn About the ABCs - Halloween Edition book cover with recycled food containers, paint, and Sharpie markers. Materials Needed: 3 recycled food containers (I used peanut butter containers), craft paint (orange, white, and green), and a black Sharpie marker.  I gave each one of my children a food container.  Then, they agreed on the character -- jack o' lantern, ghost, and Frankenstein -- they were going to recreate. My two year old son, the inspiration for the Three Ghost Friends series, chose to make the ghost. This craft is so easy. Squirt the paint into the jar, tighten the lid, and let your kids shake it up.  Initially, we didn't add enough paint, so we opened the lid and added more until there was enough to completely cover the inside of the container. My 7 year old daughter with her painted Frankenstein jar. After painting the inside of the jar we used a Sharpie maker to add faces to the outside. My son needed help making a jack o'lantern face so I made dots for him to trace. He connected the dots and then colored in the face. My daughter enjoyed making the hair and the bolts on Frankenstein.  It is best that you remove the lids and allow the paint to dry on the inside.  We set our jars out in the sun for an afternoon and they dried pretty quickly. I wish I could have found a white lid for my ghost, but overall this project turned out really well!

This activity was designed to accompany Three Ghost Friends: Learn About the ABCs - Halloween Edition, an eBook available at the Apple iBookstore using the iBooks App.

Three Ghost Friends Bowling

What You Will Need?
1. 10 white plastic bottles (I used 32 oz. coffee creamer containers.)
2. Black Sharpie marker
3. Ball
4. Masking Tape
5. Download and Print Three Ghost Friends Bowling Score Card
Click here to download the bowling score sheet!
It took quite a long time to collect all the bottles but once we had ten we were ready to bowl.  First, we drew ghost faces on each bottle with a black Sharpie marker.  Then, we found an orange ball and added a jack o' lantern face.  Lastly, we placed ten masking tape pieces on the floor in the pattern for setting up bowling pins.  This made it easy for my children to reset the pins each time.

We have a bowling alley in our house! My 2 year old son figured out it was easier to just whack down the bowling pins!

Toddler Activity: Three Ghost Friends Halloween Sort

Three Ghost Friends Halloween Sort Three Ghost Friends Halloween Sort can be used as a toddler busy bag, shoe box task activity, work basket,  preschool center activity, or a tot school activity.  What You Need:
1. 9 cups or containers (I used small Solo brand cups.)
2. Box and masking tape (This is not necessary, but I chose to contain my cups in a box.)
3. 36 tongue depressors/craft sticks/popsicle sticks
4. Glue
5. Heavy paper/Cardstock
5. Download and print the Halloween Three Ghost Friends Character Sheet
Click Here to Download FREE Printable Activity Sheets Directions:

First, download and print the activity sheets on card stock paper. Then, cut out each character. I had my son cut out the characters while I constructed the sorting box.  I placed masking tape under each cup to hold them in the box. I dabbed glue on the end of each tongue depressor and my son placed on the characters.  I placed one character -- a mummy, a pumpkin, a goblin, etc. -- in each cup.  I told my two-year-old son to sort the rest of the characters into each cup.  This would be a great preschool or day care center activity for the month of October! This activity was designed to accompany Three Ghost Friends: Learn About the ABCs - Halloween Edition, an eBook available at the Apple iBookstore using the iBooks App.
