If only Hitchcock were still alive
Born and raised in Derry, Northern Ireland, Colm Herron is the author of four novels including The Further Adventures of James Joyce and The Fabricator. His newest book The Wake is a rollicking work of youthful, political, sexual, and spiritual awakening set against the Irish civil rights movement of the late 1960's. I am honored to find his review of my thriller, Overdose:

About halfway through reading Overdose I got to thinking that it would make a great movie, a thriller to match anything that Alfred Hitchcock ever put on the screen (except maybe Vertigo). And then I thought 'If only Hitchcock were alive now. He would love this novel. It has all the ingredients he'd need.' For a start, the blurb (for blurb read trailer) is irresistible. For seconds, the sample that Amazon gives is soooo tantalising. And finally to the book itself. The plot, the style and the literally breathstopping thrills are the fresh cream on a chocolate cake that's already chock-full of calories - or maybe arsenic.
I'm not going to summarise the plot. I just want to say that I'm not quite as admiring of brain surgeons after meeting Dr Patel, the man who operated on Ash, the Hitchcockian heroine. Was it the Hippocratic oath he took or the hypocritical one? And what had he to do with the death of his wealthy wife? I see Overdose as a late-night movie or a Netflix must that would send you to bed wondering if you could possibly go to sleep after seeing THAT. And could the sudden creak on the third stair from the top possibly be from the dear doctor's heavy tread?

That’s for me to know and for you to wonder about
If you can not see this chirbit, listen to it here https://chirb.it/qLb8yd
The surveillance device is awash with blood. It looks disturbing, and at the same time, quite fascinating. I feel compelled to snap a picture of it and of my open wound. After all, I may need some documentation to show police that in my case, as well as Pa’s, Dr. Patel went well beyond the call of duty.I wipe the device clean, careful not to cause any squeaks that will give away what I’m doing. Meanwhile, Michael takes care of my wound, dressing it. He even combs my hair over the bandage to help conceal it somewhat. Then, in his deepest, sexiest voice, he asks, “So, Ash? Was it good for you?”I kiss him. And knowing the device is still on, I top it off with, “Oh, was it ever! ” Laughter rolls in his throat. “Don’t start, you naughty girl. I’m totally spent right now.”“Me too.” I yawn, intentionally. “You took a lot out of me.”“Yes I did!” Michael gives me a little wink. “Glad to be of service.”“And you, dear? Was it good for you?”“Oh, better than ever! But for some reason, Ash, I felt as if you had another man on your mind all the while.”Is Michael giving away our game? No, not really. To Dr. Patel, the notion that I can’t take him out of my head—even as I give my body to his rival—may be intriguing. He may be fooled into thinking, in his own perverted way, that he is the one in control. He is the one who owns me.Let him congratulate himself.“Oh,” I say, “That’s for me to know and for you to wonder about, dear.”

This is my favorite medical thriller out of the series. Dr. Patel takes an interest in Ash and spies on her through a device he implants below her ear. Once I started reading it, I finished it in one day because I couldn't wait to see who the true owner of the pink cell phone was and why it was worth a waitress getting shot over. Ash's boyfriend, Michael, helps her remove the implant, but Dr. Patel's reaction turns him into a murderous rage when he discovers it. What truly happened to Dr. Patel's wife? Can Ash survive her curiosity this time? When Dr. Patel meets her mother and father and starts messing with her dad, he's not only messing with her life, but also her father's. Ash doesn't take kindly to that. He's gone too far. If you enjoy medical thrillers, don't miss this one. It is five stars all the way with twists and turns that will surprise you. What a fascinating medical thriller!!
I've only read a couple of this authors books but every time I do I'm impressed with her writing. There is always such depth to the characters along with the plot of the story thats being told.
Ash's story is intense, intriquing, and downright scary a time or two if you put yourself in Ash's shoes. There is also the romantic side that pulls you in and causes those oohs and ahs for Ash and Michael.
A book thats full of twists and turns you wont see coming.
I have voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

Overdose is the third volume in the “Ash Suspense Thrillers with a Dash of Romance” series. I’ve enjoyed all three books and must say this one was just as good if not even better than the others. I’ve always enjoyed Ms. Poznansky’s writing. It is smooth, lyrical, and original.
Ash is a young college girl to whom terrible things happen, but she always comes through with guts and courage to survive, thrive, and get even with the villains. In this edition, Ash becomes a victim of a very powerful player, whose name I’ve withheld so as not to spoil the story for you.
The characters created by Ms. Poznansky are vivid and truly enjoyable. I especially love the dialog and relationship between Ash and her mother, otherwise known as “Ma.” We didn’t see much of Browney (her beloved dog) in this episode, but I’m sure he’ll be back for more in the future. Love the dog!
After surviving a harrowing ordeal in the last book, where she barely survived a vicious attack and ensuing coma, Ash now suffers from mysterious and frequent headaches with other bizarre symptoms. I encourage you to buy the book and discover the nefarious plot behind her symptoms that has far-reaching, thrilling consequences.
I read both the eBook and listened to the new audiobook, which I found extremely well done. The narrator was a pleasure to listen to.
Well done!
Highly recommended by Aaron Paul Lazar.

Overdose, Book 3 in the Ash Suspense Thriller series by Uvi Poznansky is the story of Ash, having somewhat recently come out of her coma, and Dr. Patel, the man who performed the brain surgery that saved her life. Dr. Neil Patel isn't all that he seems. There are questions regarding his education and formal medical training, as well as that crazy little issue of his wife's recent death by overdose...Ash's father is also having some unexpected medical issues after seeing Dr. Patel in the ER as well. She NEEDS to figure out exactly who Dr. Patel is and what has been happening to the people in his life. It all started ten years ago with his trip to India. It's an enjoyable medical based/thriller.. Ash, with the help of her super hacker boyfriend Michael rush to unravel the mystery of Dr. Patel, with Ash getting closer to Dr. Patel than expected...
Heather Jane Hogan did a good job narrating this story. She read with unique voices for each character and was very easy to follow along to. She handled both female and male voices well also. I'd definitely listen to more books narrated by her in the future. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher for an honest review.

Choked by a rubbery scent and by the taste of oxygen and fear
If you can not see this chirbit, listen to it here https://chirb.it/qq5aIs
On Dr. Patel’s orders, a technologist is preparing my father for his ECG test. Ma stays with him. I slip out to the corridor, where a white-faced patient is being fitted with an oxygen mask. At the sight of it, my mind is spinning full of bits of memories all the way back to the night I was brought here, to the ER, months ago. I recall struggling to release myself out of this thing, being choked by its rubbery scent and by the taste of oxygen and fear. I call Michael. “Miss you,” I say. And he says, “Miss you too.”“Just, needed to hear your voice.”“You know,” Michael says, “I did a reverse lookup in a few caller ID databases along with other private and public sources—”“Oh!” I cry, my mind leaping ahead to finish his sentence for him. “You found out who owns that pink cellphone, the one I got last night from the waitress!”“Yes, I did!”“And?”“Sure you want to know?” “Sure I’m sure!”Michael gurgles a laugh. He must be enjoying the moment, because he does his best to prolong it. “I’ll tell you who it doesn’t belong to: his wife.”I gasp. At the other end, there’s a brief bark. I suppose my golden retriever, Browny, is as hungry for a bit of information as I am. Impatient, I whisper, “Stop playing games, Michael, I’m dying to know—”“Not now,” he says. “I’ll pick you up in an hour—is that a good time?—and then, we’ll go pay that person a visit.”“Can’t wait!” “How’s your father?”“His vision is still blurry, and now his heart is acting up. They’re doing some tests right now. See you later.”“See you soon, sweetheart.”
