News: Editing and Writing Continues

5/11/15

The weather app on my phone says 85 degrees Fahrenheit, but the thermometer outside (in the shade) says 89. I don’t know which one is right. Either way it’s really, really hot! Having an equally toasty laptop in my lap is not helping. I find myself doing work in spurts: a few pages of editing here, some writing there, with breaks in between to let everything cool off. The meteorologist on the TV said the heat wave should break soon, but I’m still waiting. To think t...

News: Editing, Writing, and New Plans

5/6/15

Editing is still going very well. I make a little more progress on The Oracle’s Sprite every day. It will be back with LT3 for another round with the editor on time. I hope to have news on release dates soon.
Dragon Dilemma is complete. I have gone through it one last time to catch anything blatant and have set it aside to rest. I will pick it back up in June for editing and formatting before submitting it to LT3. After that, I’m going to return to Dragon Detective and do...

May Goals

April showers bring May flowers, which also brings along allergies. I am allergic to being outside in the Spring, so I’ll be sneezing and sniffling all month long. It’s awful, but at the same time I love being outside and playing in the dirt. My strawberries are coming up and pretty soon the vegetable garden will be going in. There’s lots to look forward to and hopefully I’ll be able to get a lot of writing done too.

The Oracle’s Sprite Edits. I only have a few s...

April Goals: Results

Passover did take up a very large chunk of my writing time for the first week of April, but after that it was smooth sailing. I got a good bit written and have also planned out a lot of future writing. Then the edits for The Oracle’s Sprite arrived and getting those done trumped writing. I still managed to get a lot completed. Here’s how I did in April:

Supernatural Consultant Series. The goal was to get Dragon Dilemma completed this month. The story isn’t quite there yet, b...

News: Editing Continues

4/27/15

Editing sucks. That’s honestly the best way to describe it. Someone has gone through my story, told me where I messed up terribly, asked me to rewrite and delete things I thought were awesome because they’re not actually good at all, and nitpicked through every nuance to point out where my writing ability failed. It sucks. It’s also an amazing learning experience and helps me grow as a writer, but that doesn’t in any way make editing an enjoyable experience. Th...

News: Edits and Writing

4/20/15

The edits for The Oracle’s Sprite have arrived! I’ve glanced through them once and there’s a lot to do, as always. Editing is a mixture of me shaking my head at myself because I really messed up a scene or a bit of dialogue and fixing a lot of little things like missed tenses or extraneous words. It’s also one of the best learning experiences I have as a writer. The opportunity to have a professional look through my book and point out how I can improve is someth...

State of the Dragon State

Not too long ago I was working on my Supernatural Consultant series almost exclusively. I wrote the first two books very quickly, got them edited, and they’ve since been accepted by LT3. I expect Dragon Consultant will come out in 2015 and Dragon Deception sometime in early 2016. (Those are only estimates, so don’t run and mark your calendars just yet.) After the whirlwind that was getting those books completed, I almost expected that success to keep going at such a quick rate. T...

News: April Continues

4/16/15

The wonderful artist who works on The Oracle series has contacted me about starting the cover for The Oracle’s Sprite. I know it’s going to be a great cover. Sprite is the wind book of the series and she’s promised me that she can include an amazing breeze-like effect. I’m really looking forward to seeing the results. The cover is due sometime in July, so in approximately three months I should have it for you to see.
My beta reader has promised to have Ground...
