Dev Bentham believes in the transformative power of true love. She’s the author of many gay romances, including Moving in Rhythm, August Ice and the Tarnished Souls Jewish Holiday series.

Over the years, she’s lived in way too many places and had far too many jobs, but she’s finally settled in frozen northern Wisconsin where she draws on her former lives to write enduring love stories in which wonderful men find each other. Her restless feet take her globetrotting whenever she gets the chance, but most of the time she’s tucked up in her office in the woods dreaming about romance.

I hope by now that you've found Nobody's Home in ebook - there was a short period while I was in the process of rereleasing it that it was only available in the Amber Allure paperback version. Here's a link on Amazon in case you haven't found it. And again, I'm so sorry it's been so long. https://www.amazon.com/Nobodys-Home-D...(less)

The first book is Learning from Isaac, which is free through Saturday (1/23). I'll see if I can contact you to let you know.

Lots of my characters are Jews. Probably because I'm one too. The holiday series came about because Loose Id decided to release "Learning from Isaac" as a Passover story (there's a seder in the book). I think they were thinking about Christmas stories etc. The idea of a Passover romance cracked me up - I mean, can you think of a less romantic holiday (well, I suppose Yom Kippur isn't exactly a picnic either). The books didn't end up being funny, but I think the whole idea is a crack up.

Sorry this took me so long to answer! I just haven't been on here in a while.(less)

Love in a Time of Coronavirus #1

The meeting was scheduled for 9 am. At 8:50, I straightened my tie, smoothed back my hair and hit the link to join. Soon my screen was populating with faces in boxes. My heart pounded as I waited for the black box titled John Sprague to appear. The anticipation reminded me of seventh grade when I’d sit forward in my desk, watching for the football player I had a crush on walk through the door.

“I grimaced. “I’ve never done that before.”

He smiled. “They all say that. But if it’s true, we’re even. I’ve never kissed a trick.”

I rested my arms on the rickety table between us. He looked pale, and there were dark circles under his eyes. “I want to know why. You’re brilliant, one of the best students I’ve ever had. Why are you…?”

“Sucking dick for dollars?” His mouth twisted into a cynical smile.

I sat back, aware that I didn’t like the image of his mouth on other men. “Right.”
Dev Bentham, Learning from Isaac

“He’d sworn off sex, remember? Not unless he could do it properly, humanly, heartfully.”
