A Week in the Life…

…of the ROW80 challenge. I didn’t update my progress last week, mainly because, for once, I was actually really busy writing and trying to move forwad with my goals. And having said that, this might be why I’m not around social media, specifically, twitter, too much anymore. There’s actually a few reasons I’m not on there as much (day job, the rampant negativity, trolling trolls, etc), but the main one is…it’s a huge time-suck, for me.  Some can balance the...

A Day to Remember

Today’s an important anniversary for me. Four years ago today (at approximately 6 am), I dragged myself into the emergency room thinking I was having a heart attack. (This, after I’d been treated for years with asthma…) It wasn’t a heart attack. And it wasn’t (nor had it ever been) asthma. Instead the docs found “massive amount of blood clots” (an exact quote from the ER doctor that saw me) in my lungs. (They still can’t figure out the why...

Full Disclosure is Almost Here!

Hey, everyone! In less than 24 hours you will be able to get your hot, little hands on the second book in the Ashten Falls series. That means Sam and his feisty, stubborn, independent, tenacious heroine, Emma, will be on your reading device and out into the world! It has been a long time coming. Such a long time…I could write about book about writing this book, because yeah. But, it’s done and almost to you! I have to say, I love the final...

Full Disclosure

Hey, there! If you follow me on social media you probably already heard the news, but just in case, I wanted to send out a reminder about the release of the second book in the Ashten Falls series. Full Disclsoure will be releasing on May 22 which is right around the corner! Eeek! It also means I should be getting back to writing and other stuff for the release day fun. Here’s a peek at that cover, and the blurb: Opening...

Full Disclosure-An Excerpt

Today I have an excerpt from my upcoming release, Full Disclosure. This will be the second book in the Ashten Falls series. It follows the Emma Michaels, a journalist, and Sam Copeland, a local businessman. Emma is out for a walk on the beach, and runs into Sam having a private discussion with the Chief of Police, Jackson. Emma took a deep breath. Sam was offering to be an informant in order for the police department to bring down a bad...

A is for Ashten Falls

Ashten Falls, Maine is the setting for my small town romance series. I’ve had a lot of fun exploring this town, and this first day of the A-Z challenge, I wanted to introduce you to how I came to writing about this place. First, I think it’s important to know that the setting for my series is what came to me, first. It wasn’t a character, or an idea, or a particular trope I wanted to write. Over time, and with the...

1st Quarter Goals and ROW80 Round 1 Review

ROW80 Round 1 is complete. The end of the first quarter is only 4 days away. This means its time to review what goals I’d set out to accomplish, the progress I made, as well as the successes and challenges. Let’s get right to it, shall we? [Note: green = completed; red = not even a little bit done; blue = in progress; orange = some work on it but heading in a not so productive direction; purple = on hold,...

A to Z Challenge: Theme Reveal

I am so trying this…again. For what feels like the millionth time. However, this time, I’m more prepared. I hope. I’ve planned out posts. I have my list. They’ll be short descriptions, excerpts from my upcoming release, and character backstories on the series I’m writing. All within the same theme, that is. The People & Places of the Ashten Falls Series (and book excerpts from the series, too!!) While the first book is already out and the second one will...

Close to the End…

Of ROW80, Round 1. I’m always shocked how fast it comes up every time. I started a bit late, and didn’t post every week but I’ve made progress and I’m happy with that. Could I have done better? Sure. But I did accomplish many things and I’m not going to beat myself up about not nailing everything on the list. But today isn’t the end, so let’s do a recap of my goals for this week, so far: [Note: green = completed; red...
