When September Ends…monthly recap and a contest!
For me, September felt like the month that never ended. First of all, we had EARLY snow. Ugh. It killed everything in my garden that had been limping along since our 4 separate hail storms this summer. So I had my fireplace on for a couple of days and then we were back up to mid-80s so I had the air-conditioner running. I usually love having the windows open in the fall, but the smoke situation means that’s not an option.
The month started on a high note for me, getting so see THIS cutie — here ...

I came across an image on Twitter recently and it reminded me of how much I love optical illusions!
Optical illusions are cool because the creation involves art, science, and psychology.
Do you see a dog? Or a clown? Or both? (I see both)
Is either image spinning? Does it spin more or less when you look away?
Can you read this? I’ll admit, now a typo here or there makes more sense because my brain skips right over them

Saturday Surprise — Fruits of my labors
You all know I like to cook, and I’ve talked about being more aware of food wastage during this pandemic, which has resulted in some fun new dishes…as well as a few failures.
I planted fruit trees in hopes that one day I’d have enough fruit to bake with, freeze, and make jam. Out of my apple tree, 2 apricot trees, 2 pear trees, one peach tree and one plum tree…ONLY the largest pear tree got any blooms. In the past I’ve blamed it on the weather. But something weird is going on, in that I’ve NEVER...
