(If you came here for my Kickstarter, follow the blue link.)

I received a copy of The Last Night of October from Greg Chapman for a balanced review.

The Kindle version has a different cover.

Gerald Forsythe dreads Halloween. As an old man confined to a wheelchair, he is dependent upon oxygen to help him breathe through bouts of emphysema. He watches the door, waiting, wondering where his nurse is. She was expected to come and switch out his medicines and ensure he will make it through the night....

The Kickstarter has Launched!

The Kickstarter began yesterday for the re-release of The Wrong Way Down. After talking with editor/author Lincoln Crisler, I agreed with his suggestion of posting a sample of the story for everyone to see. I feel the prologue is the best place to start because it needs no introduction.

TWWD cover x500

Here is the same as what most literary agents and submission editors read before deciding if they want more. Now you are that agent.

A Review of Witch Bane by Tim Marquitz

I received this book from Tim Marquitz for a balanced review. I told him it could be close to a year before I got to review it. That was a year ago, almost to the day.

At least I’m timely.

Witchbane

This dark fantasy story, Witch Bane, takes place in the troubled realm of Mynistiria. Beginning in a scramble, Red Guard soldiers disembark from an airborne transport, a hover ship that is being powered by harnessed griffons. Watching nearby from behind trees, young Sebastian and mature Darius witness Red Gua...

Seven Questions with Armand Rosamilia

Today’s guest is Armand Rosamilia, author of the Dying Days series. I had the pleasure to meet Armand at the 2014 World Horror Convention. We’ve also shared pages in Angelic Knight’s Horror/Erotica/Spoof, Fifty Shades of Decay. Enjoy some words with this fantastic author; Armand has survived zombie apocalypses and my seven deadly questions.

I own a shirt just like the one Armand wears.

Looking to the Near Future

It is time for an update. (Sorry for the lack of pictures in this update.)

Through a bit of good luck, I have beeninvited to assist the writing team for the film production company, Man vs. Film. There is a 48-hour film festival and I’ve been asked to help on that project. The premier will be shown at the Hollywood Theater in Portland, Oregon, on August 6th and 7th. (Follow the links for more information.)

Through a bit of good luck, the revised edition of The Wrong Way Down (Book 1) was reject...

Me and Bobby McGee by Chad Coenson

“Fine, fine,” I said, “We appreciate your business of course and stand by our product and such. But let me cut right to the chase here, boys. You know that we are a respectable underground corporation doing the world a grand service by recycling unwanted human life, giving it a purposeful existence, while at the same time curing the laziness of another more important person,” I paused and looked in all four of their eyes simultaneously to make sure our value proposition resonated clearly in t...

Seven Questions with Timothy Baker

I’ve read many of Timothy Baker’s short stories, and a back in May, his debut novel, Path of the Dead . Although I missed my opportunity to meet Timothy at 2013′s World Horror Convention, I wasfortunate enough to share storiesin several of the same anthologies. Tim writes flawed and believable characters oftentimes being subjected to terrifying, and seemingly hopeless situations. He is amongmy favorite authors, and he survived challengingseven deadly questions.

Great characters and classic zombies. (Links to my review.)

Review of Queen, written by Lincoln Crisler

A little background, I’d read Lincoln’s short story, Queen’s Blood in Manifesto UF earlier in the year. Enjoying the story, I soon after had an opportunity to tell Lincoln. He in turn asked if I’d be willing to read his short story collection, Queen. Queen’s Blood is in this collection, but it is not the reason for this book’s title. The last story in this collection is a novella titled Queen. These are my thoughts.

Happy Memorial Day to all US servicemen and women; both active and veteran. Thank you for your commitment, both currently and in past service.

A few weeks ago, at the World Horror Convention and Bram Stoker Awards, I met author Armand Rosamilia (Dying Days zombie series). For the past several months, he has been collecting books from a variety of authors for an event called Authors Supporting Our Troops. Armand’s goal was to see thatAmerican troops that arestill away on foreign soil receive bo...

Jake Elliot Suicide

I’ve gotten a couple hits on this websitelooking for ‘Jake Elliot Suicide” or “RIP Jake Elliot.” I am not dead. Not yet at least. However, if it is another Jake Elliot who has died, for those of you looking for information, all I can say is I am sorry for your loss.

As a writer I am prone to deep depression, alcoholism and there is always a chance for suicide. I’d even be willing to put $100 as a bet that I’d die by suicide before I die of cancer, or have an aneurism. We could make a side bet...
