They say, “Timing is everything.” Definitely the case on the trails this morning. It’s simple moments like these that remind me why I run.

Dog sitting this past weekend reminded me of how much I miss running with a canine buddy. Their never ending joy for propelling themselves down the trail calls us to always revel in the simple and enjoy the run.

Last rays on the Tahoe Rim Trail. Hard to believe it’s the first time I’ve set foot on this spectacular trail, a continuous 170 mile loop above Lake Tahoe. A trail runner’s dream!

Evening stroll down memory lane, lots of history on this trail. So good to have lunch and catch up with co-founder of the Western States Endurance Run, Shannon Yewell Weil. A big hero of mine!

Throwback Thursday: My teammate in blue barely had peach fuzz on his face at White River 50 Miler in 2003, and now he has years of ultrarunning experience and a brand new book out. Pick up a copy of “Hal Koerner’s Field Guide to Ultrarunning” with a forward written by the guy in the belly shirt.
