Ronna’s New Release: Where Bluebirds Fly

Ronnais one of those writers whose stories captivate me when I read them. They are raw, intriguing and stay with me long afterwards. So, when she decided to self-publishas Brynn Chapman”Where Bluebirds Fly”I wanted to not only cheer her accomplishment, I wanted to find out how and why she decided this route.

Ronna and Friend reading books (Who else is trying to figure out the title of those books?!)

What made you decide to self publish bluebirds?

Hmm. Well, I joined a very active online group of...

The authors of Blame it on the Muse wish you a blessed Thankgiving with friends and family. And here is a little musical gift from Carrie Newcomer to capture the sentiment of the day.

Wacky Wednesdays

When I was growing up, weddings were a serious business. Very formal, very beautiful…and usually very uneventful and boring.

Why am I thinking of weddings on this Wacky Wednesday? Probably because we had two weddings in our family this past weekend. One of them was my nephew’s in Vegas (my husband and daughter attended). The other was my cousin’s in Vancouver, WA (my son and I attended). The events couldn’t have been more different.

My nephew is a Marine, so he was married in dress blues with h...

Awaken The Curse Release Day Celebration!

What do Regency Britain, Fey magic, cursed shapechangers, ancient stone dolmens, estranged lovers, and King Arthur have in common?

Awaken The Curse; the prequel novella to my debut historical-paranormal Imnada Brotherhood series which releases TODAY!

So what’s the story about? you ask. Well, I’ll tell you!

One very passionate and very scandalous kiss tore James Farraday and Katherine Lacey apart. Now five years later, the new Lord Duncallan receives an unexpected summons from Katherine’s father...

What Happened to my Modern World?

In 1964 and 1965, when I was in sixth grade, the World’s Fair came to my town. I could hop on the Long Island Railroad and arrive at the fair in a mere fifteen minutes.

The 1964-65 New York World’s Fair was almost like having Disney’s EPCOT theme park right next door. The Pepsi-Cola pavilion, for instance, had this incredible inside boat ride with a gazillion dancing and singing dolls. They called it “It’s a Small World.” I could see animated dinosaurs at the Ford Motor Company pavilion, learn...

Choice Time – Rugged bull rider or sexy witch hunter?

Please welcome guest blogger, author Lynn Cahoon! :-)

- - - - - - - - - -

I love call outs. Tell me an editor is fast tracking a submission, I’ll write the chapter and synopsis. Tell me a publisher is looking for a sexy paranormal novella? I’ll put it on my list.

A Member of The Council started as a call out. Then the idea went to my list of things I wanted to try. And once something is on my list, I’ve committed to finishing. But of course, the world doesn’t run like you plan and as soon as I’d s...

Bad Boys of Red Hook, Hurricane Sandy, and The Red Hook Initiative…

By Robin Kaye

Back To You: Bad Boys of Red Hook

I’m a transplanted Brooklyn girl and most of my books take place in Brooklyn. My new series, Bad Boys of Red Hook takes place in–you guessed it, Red Hook, Brooklyn.

I was writing my second Bad Boys of Red Hook book, YOUR THE ONE, when Hurricane Sandy hit. Even before the hurricane, I was glued the computer watching videos of people preparing for the worst–but no one had any idea how bad that would be.

I saw the studio/apartme...

Blubber Season … Start Your Engines

www.chilehumor.com

With Thanksgiving around the corner, thoughts turn to chilly days amid naked sentinels of the forest, roseate cheeks, the promise of snow, and the beginning of blubber season. Say what?

It really started at Halloween, evident by tacky fingerprints from stealth-diving into the kids goodie bag, but I digress. As far as I’m concerned, the starting bell for the blubber season is technically Thanksgiving Day. While the puritan meal with Native Americans weighed heavy with grains,...

Smokey Joe’s Cafe’

It’s been some time since I’ve done dinner theatre, but this Halloween, I took in a performance of Smokey Joe’s Café the Songs of Leiber and Stoller at Circa 21, the local dinner theatre. To be honest, I didn’t really know what to expect.

My mother and I went to the matinee performance, because Halloween is my favorite holiday and I wanted to be in my new home to see the Trick or Treaters in my new neighborhood. There was a lot of orange and black at the theatre, but no tricks or treats except...

Challenging myself with a new release, Honor Code

It’s release week for my novella, Honor Code!

I’m excited about this story–delving into the characters and theme of honor and personal integrity, while delivering a fast-paced detective story. Writing this novella reaffirmed my love of not just the creative process of writing, but also the challenge of developing characters and building layers into the novella’s twist, twist, twist you’re done structure.

Challenging myself as an author is one of the things that keeps me coming back. A single po...
