Gallery Spotlight: Joker Revisited

Joker Revisited

Joker Revisited – because it’s really hard to take tanks, mercenaries, exploding concrete and reactors mysteriously turned into bombs all that seriously after the guy who kills your bodyguard with a pencil.

Gallery Spotlight: Utility Belt

This little gem from the sculpture gallery has perfect lines. Based on the design from the Nolan films, it’s not my favorite version of the costume, not by a mile, but this particular piece has perfect lines. Just look at the way it follows, frames and leads the eye around the waist. Perfect. Absolutely f-ing perfect.

Gallery Spotlight: Batman Cowl

Today’s Spotlight is from the Sculpture Gallery.  Simply entitled “Batman Cowl” and based on the costume introduced in Batman Begins, it is familiar to many long-term Cat-Tales fans the 2008 viral when we used it as the signature image to advertise a fictional art exhibition “Visions of the Dark Knight” at Gotham’s Sale Gallery on GCN and elsewhere.

It’s hard to  pick specific one thing that makes this piece my favorite.  I absolutely love the texture; it’s just gorgeous.  And something about the angle of the photo and the lighting, the way it picks up the line of the piece, the way it has that elegant simplicity thing going.  Simple marvelous.

Trick or Treat

Just in case the vampire hoards in yesterday’s pick Capes & Bats were too scary for you, we have a very different Halloween classic from Cat-Tales Book 2:

Cat-Tales: Trick or Treat

Wonderful Edward Gorey-style depiction of Bruce Wayne as Sherlock Holmes, Selina Kyle, Alfred Pennyworth, Talia al Ghul and Edward Nigma for the cover of Cat-Tales: Trick or Treat

The Gotham Mythology Museum has a special exhibit celebrating the Mystery Whodunit, and they’re kicking it off with a costume party. Hey, it’s not every day Bruce Wayne gets to dress up as his hero, now is it?

So that’s the treat. The trick… Click through and read it. You’ll find out.

BOO!

Capes and Bats

It’s one day to Halloween.  If you haven’t started reading (or re-reading) the page-turning suspense & horror tale Cat-Tales: Capes & Bats, this would be the perfect time.

Pinning Paris

Bruce and Selina in Paris, illustrated in a Pinterest pin board for Cat-Tales: 62 A Bon Chat, Bon Rat

Pinning Paris

Bruce and Selina in Paris, a subject so visually evocative it cried out for a photo essay.  So, a while back, I made a Pinterest board to illustrate Cat-Tale 62: A Bon Chat, Bon Rat.  Today, thanks to a Red Room prompt, I blogged about it.  Enjoy.

Gallery Spotlight: Catvid Floorsafe

Catwoman: Floorsafe

Catvid: Floorsafe

The Cat-Tales Gallery Spotlight “3D week” began featuring a sassy ‘Catvid’ of Selina in action, as captured by a security camera (that she obviously knew was there) and stored on the Bat Computer for Batman’s private perusal and, eh, “further study” (grunt).  We end the week same way with Catvid: Floorsafe.  This time, I don’t think kitty knew the camera was there, however.

Enjoy it now before Bruce changes his passwords.

(Oh, and Dick & Tim? Grounded for life.)

Gallery Spotlight: Selina’s Lamborghini

Selina Kyle on the cover of HNWI with the Lamborghini Reventon

Selina Kyle on the cover of HNWI with the Lamborghini Reventon

Let’s remember that the Selina Kyle of Cat-Tales was tooling around in a Lamborghini in long before Messrs Nolan, Nolan and Goyer put her behind the wheel.  Today’s Spotlight from the Poser Gallery imagines her appearance on the cover of HNWI magazine as depicted in CT53: Short Tales.  (And yes, that would be her Catwoman costume she’s in, which the adorable photographer bought as a driving suit.)
