Selina Kyle: Morning Handsome

Morning, Handsome by Remidar

Selina Kyle, tussled morning hair, borrowed your shirt, made coffee.  “Morning, Handsome.”  If this doesn’t do it for you, guys, there’s really nothing I can do.

Gallery Spotlight: Mrs. Wayne

Mrs. Wayne

the second of two pieces featuring the infamous yellow ruffles bridesmaid’s dress by Remidar

Mrs Wayne

What’s a girl to do when all of Gotham high society is calling her Mrs. Wayne?  Grab the nearest bottle of champagne, the nearest sympathetic ear, and start drinking heavily.

It began with Martin’s distracted misstatement to Dinah: “Mrs. Wayne” …Overheard by Mrs. Wigglesworth, who then saw Dinah point to Selina…

“Dancing with the groom” …Mrs. Wigglesworth told Mrs. Ashton-Larraby she’d already heard talk of who’s next, mouthing the words “Mrs. Wayne” and pointing, as Dinah had, towards Selina. …Mrs. Ashton-Larraby said at last her lips were unsealed! She’d known for months, but didn’t want to spread idle gossip. Mrs. Ashton-Larraby told Mrs. Helbrook, who told Mrs. Ford, overheard by Mr. Upton…. Mr. Upton told Mr. Drake, who told his wife, who told Mrs. Fox…

By the time Selina returned to her seat, there were four separate accounts of the engagement being circulated. Hearing one of these, Aunt Kate sought out Selina to offer her congratulations. –Dearly Beloved

Gallery Spotlight: Bruce and Selina

Bruce and Selina (pencil sketch) by Remidar

Bruce and Selina (pencils) by Remidar

To my eye, this is the sexiest Bruce and Selina image in the gallery.  Oddly enough, the hottest Batman-Catwoman picture, though by another artist, is also a black and white sketch.  Hm.

Gallery Spotlight: Joker Shmoker, Who’s this Frenchman?

The name of Selina’s first beau, Count Francois de Poulignac has come up a few times in the current tale Wayne Rises. Might be a good time to go back and remember when we first had the pleasure.

Bruce and Selina in Something Old - Joker Shmoker, Who's this Frenchman?

In Something Old, Bruce meets Selina’s old boyfriend, the Count Francois de Poulignac. He doesn’t like him.

Gallery Spotlight: So it’s just me. Down here. With the bats.

Today’s Gallery Spotlight captures a poignant moment from Not My Kink:

Selina in the Batcave

So it’s just me. Down here. With the bats.

“This cave is awfully big when it’s just you and the bats. I’m not sure how he could stand it all those years. I mean, I know he takes a lot of satisfaction in the work, it’s not that. And the cave itself is a wonder of the world. It’s almost an extension of him, and it’s hard not to be awed by it, even now that it’s so familiar.

But this time of night, having written out all that’s happened tonight on patrol, all that’s going on with Bruce and his injury, and trying to bring it all down to some final thought so I can call it a day and go upstairs to bed, just at this moment, it seems very big and… empty down here.

Maybe it’s just knowing there’s no one to go upstairs for.

It’s the night of the Water Ball, and this third gala of the Wayne Foundation Elemental Fete will be seen from a different point of view: Tim and Cassie’s.

Teaser: Uma Thurman

Teaser for Wayne Rises Chapter 4: Uma Thurman

A studio apartment with a picture of Uma Thurman, an Orlandini bracelet, a bowl from Atlantis, funky nail polish, an Oscar de la Renta gown, a headline about a cat burglar, and a DVD of Castle…

What in the name of all things feline and furry does this stuff have in common?

It’s the teaser for the upcoming chapter of Wayne Rises: Uma Thurman.  Stay tuned

Character Portrait: Binky Sherborn

Selina’s UES neighbor Binky Sherborn, known to newcomers from the Gotham-After-Dark viral, is the last of the Original Character Portraits currently in the Cat-Tales Gallery.

Binky Sherborn

Binky Sherborn

Long-term readers met Binky in Perennials:

“One of Binky’s more amusing snobberies was that she counted her visits to certain places: She could tell you exactly how many events she had attended at Wayne Manor, how many times she dined at the Finn’s, how often she had seen Prince Charles play polo, and she could tell you exactly how many times she had been inside the Bristol Country Club.”

And if it sounds like Binky is the best neighbor a practicing jewel thief could ask for, you’re right…

Binky was a trip.  I could go down to Raoul’s cart for a cappuccino, run into her in the elevator and walk away with three or four prime Catwoman targets by the time we reached her floor:  A new Galanos dress?  Oh, of course, for the Wayne benefit next week!  I simply must remember to get the rubies out of the safe deposit box, mustn’t I.  I guess I’ll just keep them out since the Winthrop’s party is only a few days later.  Did you hear the Ravels are finally splitting?  She’s hiding assets, doesn’t want him to know she owns a Cézanne…
