Heritage
I've always wanted to find out who my maternal grandparents were. Ancestral mystery probably not even solvable if I got on the show Who Do You Think You Are. Is that show even still being made? No idea. And I've no idea who my great grandparents were, but I can imagine who they might have been and write their forbidden uniting as a novel.
My maternal grandfather was half African American and half something else; possibly Native American or Sri-Lankan. My maternal grandmother was Japanese and t...

Love of Many Genres
This is just a blog post for new visitors to my blog/website. I have 12 books available in the genres of teen adventure, romantic comedy, and science fiction. There's magic, supernatural elements, cosmic journeys, romance, and laughs in all of my books. Well, apart from Origin. That one's an alternate evolutionary novella. It's also a different genre than my usual works. I like to try new things and after my next teen adventure I will be creating something in an entirely different genre for m...

Blogging Spirit
I've been trying to blog daily herein, but today's events in the news are quite depressing. Everything in politics, religion, war, etc. It's all building up in my head and making my blood pressure feel like it's on the rise. So I'm taking a break tonight.

Over Writing
The only way I get books finished is if I actually write them. I think it was 2012 or 2013 that was my most productive writing year. I wrote about 5 books that year, and the only way I did so was to delete my blog, Twitter, and Facebook. I did nothing but write obsessively that year. I didn't watch any movies or TV series. I just took care of my kids, had fun with them too, and all my spare time was devoted to writing. I took my little netbook with me everywhere. I wrote everywhere, even when...

Chillin
I got this awesome katana bookends for my birthday. Also, I keep forgetting I'm 41, ironically.
No novel writing done today. I've taken a long birthday break from writing. Sort of celebrating for two weeks. I'm reading a couple of books right now, Bloodkin and Car Jacked, and I have a couple seasons of TV shows to get through. Arrow season 4 and Shannara.
It's nice just relaxing when I have time. Though I do want to find out what happens next in Flutterby Girl. Last I left her Alice lost Caleb...

Shannara
I watched the first two episodes of Shannara on Fire TV Amazon Prime (whatever, so much easier to say Netflix) because they were free. Then my daughter got me Season 1 for my birthday on bluray yesterday. The show is great and I'm going to finish watching Season 1 when I have time. I'm on episode 4 now.The thing that's been bugging me about the show is that I can't tell how far in the future this world is set. So I did some Googling and Wiki-ing and basically found out that it's not about bei...

Preparation For Owt
Today's writing thoughts involve thinking about not writing. For a time anyway. I do know I'll have time to write come September, but until then I need to prepare. I need to sort out life things for me and mine. So maybe I will just not write for the rest of the summer. It would ease my mind and allow me to concentrate on more important things.
Who knows what though? I'll probably write 10K words tomorrow instead. I change my mind about writing daily.
See now I went on pix...

Jaclyn Brought to Life!
This is the most amazing thing for an author when a character is drawn by an artist. And here's the amazing drawing of Jaclyn from The Keystone by the talented Megan George!

Writing Roller Coaster
I'm silly. I started Flutterby Girl over again. It was just the right thing to do, again. Just like reviving the first version was the right thing to do yesterday. It's all practice, I guess.
Today I like this new beginning of FG. It's somber and my main character fits the cover. I'm taking this one slow. It will explore personalities in more depth. That was always my intention with this book. To look inwards to the psyche of a character, because the theme is dark.
