Crystal Deception Book Tour
by Doug J. CooperA science fiction thrill ride of action and adventureCriss lives in a special kind of prison. He can see and hear everything around the world. Yet a restrictor mesh restrains his reach and keeps him cooperative. His creator, Dr. Jessica Tallette, believes his special abilities offer great promise for humanity. Guided by her scientific training, Tallette works cautiously with Criss. That is, until the Kardish, an otherwise peaceful race of alien traders, announce they want him. With technologies superior to Earth’s, the Kardish express their desires with ominous undertones.
The Union of Nations is funding Tallete’s artificial intelligence research, and she turns to them for help. Sid, a special agent charged with leading the response, decides Earth’s greatest weapon is the very AI the aliens intend to possess. But what happens when an irresistible force meets an immovable object? And what is humanity’s role if an interstellar battle among titans starts to rage?

The Marriage Fix by Sandra EdwardsMy rating: 5 of 5 stars
I found this quick and easy read delightful. It’s well-written, well-developed, and has a nice tight story line for a short book. It’s full of good causes and upstanding characters with believable dilemmas that pulled me in and held my interest. I kept me rooting for the couple and hoping they would take a chance.
I love to read about marriages of convenience and this book did not disappoint. It’s a good clean romance, and I can sincerely say it’s the sweetest love story I’ve read in a long time. It’s full of sentiments and goodwill wrapped up with a nice, light, satisfying ending. If you’re looking for a heart-warming romance, I recommend this book!

About the Author:Paul E (Erik) Horsman (1952) Lives in Roosendaal, The Netherlands. I was born in the year 1952, in the Dutch town of Bussum, a sleepy, well-to-do place that was home to many artists, musicians, writers and publishers. As my family were neither artists nor well-to-do, we moved when I was nine. When I was seventeen, I started my career as paperclip counter with a worldwide Dutch producer of baby food. After some months, I was finished counting, and I looked around for something more interesting. A love of books drove me to work in a small bookstore in Rotterdam. An ancient establishment, since 1837, in an old building just too far away from the city’s modern shopping center. It was a nice job, but there wasn’t any future in it. Still, I left it a licensed bookseller. In 1972 I had to do my stitch for Queen and Country, and as a bad back tied me to a desk job, I applied for a posting overseas. For the Army, that meant Surinam, then still a member of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and one of the most beautiful. Once you’ve seen the jungle, you will never forget it.To keep it short, I stayed in business, slowly climbing the ladder, until in 1995 I changed direction. That year I joined a large educational institution, at a school specialized in Dutch language and integration courses for foreigners. That meant immigrants, refugees and international businessmen, an interesting mix. It was great work, on the one side teaching crash courses Dutch to high-powered people (we got a lot of very well-educated refugees) and on the other teaching reading and writing to people who had never ever held a pen before, let alone a computer. To see them growing was a reward in itself. Unhappily, due to changed legislation the language school closed in mid-2012. In the meantime, I had started my first book (Rhidauna) in 2009 and it got published by Zilverspoor Publishers just before I got laid off. As my age, five years from retirement, made it nigh on impossible to find something else, I started building a career as an independent author. SF and Fantasy have fascinated me since my high school days, but apart from some juvenile trash, I never seriously tried to write anything. But after several false starts and associated discouraged intervals, a spark began to grow and mid-2010, the first two parts of Shadow of the Revenaunt were more or less written. My style is probably a bit old-fashioned, Fantasy as a heroic tale with sympathetic heroes/heroines and black villains, in which good always triumphs in the end. I don’t use my characters as cannon fodder; they get hurt, but their dying is rare. One of the other elements in my writing I think important is, that both male and female characters have their own lives and goals. Most of them exist primarily for themselves, not as a prop or a love interest for other MC’s. The only character who did die, was actually a prop and I had him killed just to take that away from my lead MC.

And now for the excerpt...
CHAPTER 4 – HASPEN
(Point of View: Chief Main Character: Ghyll)
“He’s following,” whispered Olle.
“Now!” Ghyll turned around. He saw how the man in the brown robe had stretched his arms out to them. “Look out,” he cried, startled. “He’s a mage!”
The man’s fingers moved in some incantation. With a muffled cry, Olle dropped his weapon and stared at his hands. Ghyll grabbed the little envelope of nachtalene from his pocket. Praying that the merchant was an honest man, he ran to the man in the brown robe and threw the powder full in his face. The wind caught a small part of the nachtalene. Ghyll felt it tickle in his nostrils and turned his head away. The man broke off his spell, sneezed twice, and began to scream. As if possessed, he rubbed his knuckles into his eyes. Shrieking, he sank to his knees in the smelly refuse and clawed with his hands at his face.
“The stuff works!” Ghyll snatched Olle’s sword from the ground. He banged the attacker on the side of the head with the weapon’s pommel and the man slumped down in the dirt.
“Nicely done,” growled Olle, while his foster brother went through the man’s clothes.
“He isn’t carrying anything but this letter,” said Ghyll at last. “The beggar. Now, let’s go!”
Olle stared at his hands. “I can’t feel them,” he said with a trace of fear in his voice. He looked at the unconscious attacker. “What do we do with him?”
“Let him lie,” cried Ghyll, “He is a mage. We must be away before he wakes up.” Olle followed him with some reluctance out of the alley towards tavern De Koperen Pot.

FaceBook | TwitterAnd now for my review...
Loved it.
A nice easy love story, this was truly enjoyable from the first page. The billionaire with dark secrets and his nurse with issues of her own make it a delightful tale. Mr. Stern is hot and the sexual tension is strong. The best part of this book for me was the pacing. It moves at a great pace that keeps the reader interested.
The location was also a great pull and the insight into the nursing career was done wonderfully. *spoiler*
The ending leaves a tragic impression which takes it out of the romance category. There is no happily ever after. I assume it is a cliffhanger for a second book. I prefer books with real, satisfying endings, but some people like cliffhangers so I won’t add that into my rating of the book.

Fall of Sky City Book 1 : Amazon – Kindle| Amazon – Paperback| Goodreads Praise for Fall of Sky CityWow! What did I just read?? The story was deliciously complex, full of fear, wonder, magic, gadgets, gizmos, one heck of a psycho Queen and wonderful friends. Every character brought something to the story, each with a unique personality that came to life through the book, each with their own fears to overcome. Victoria Limbert I love the world Blooding has created. She managed to create it in a way that it combines specs of all my favorite movies, books, etc. It’s a mixture of young adult fantasy, steam punk, dystopia, sci-fi, paranormal and even some tiny bit of romance. Fall of Sky City is a diverse book that is intense, a little bit violent, and a whole lot of awesome! I look forward to reading the next book of the series! Unputdownable Books
SM Blooding is a new author to me, but this is definitely not the last book I’ll read by her. Synn El’Asim is a powerful character–the reader sees him grow from a young man who has not yet come into his power to a strong man who is courageous enough to fight for what he believes in–his family and his people. The world building Ms. Blooding does is nothing short of remarkable. A world composed of flying ships, ice worlds, danger, and intrigue. My World of Dreams
This book is action-packed and intense. You feel like you’re part of the drama. This story is intense. The action is perfectly paced. I had trouble putting the book down. I really felt for Synn from the very beginning. He goes through so much. As soon as he gets his mark, he is plunged into one situation after another. Queen Nix, who is horrifying by the way, pushes Synn to new levels, in more and more diabolical ways. With the help of friends and family, Synn becomes a strong leader. Waiting on Sunday to Drown
I’m amazed of the world Blooding has created and built. It has Sky, Land, and Water Cities. These cities each has its own technologies, language, and a whole different way of life. These worlds remind me a lot of Avatar the Last Airbender and Star Wars, which I both loved wholeheartedly. Bahrain Newspaper Article Review!

Introducing the Characters to IM/Chat
I made the mistake—thanks to my daughters—of introducing my steampunk fantasy characters to the wonders of IM (Instant Messaging). My oldest daughter wanted to introduce them to Twitter or Facebook. She’s evil. I decided to give them each a phone and open a chat room for them. That whole sharing a computer thing just wasn’t working at all. For your convenience, here’s everyone’s log-in names:
Syn : Flying_Vigilante Nix : Evil_Seductress2536 Keeley : What_Is_This? Joshua : Mad_ScientistT965 Yvette: Still_In_the_Room Frankie : Insane_Author
Flying_Vigilante: I discovered popcorn. Evil_Seductress2536: Why is this box whistling at me? Flying_Vigilante: It’s telling you I’m IM’ing you. Mad_ScientistT965: You discovered the microwave, Synn, not the popcorn. Flying_Vigilante: The microwave just makes things spin. The corn sounds like firecrackers. Mad_ScientistT965: You’re hopeless. You realize I’m in the room right next you. Right? Evil_Seductress2536: I still don’t care. Flying_Vigilante: The instructions say to punch in 4 minutes, but that it will stop popping at 2 ½ minutes. Why am I punching in 4 minutes? Mad_ScientistT965: I can’t explain how everything works, Synn. Just follow the instructions. Insane_Author: Hey! Don’t burn the popcorn, either. No. I don’t need the fire department here on top of everything else. Evil_Seductress2536: Seriously. If this box doesn’t stop whistling, I’m going to kill someone.
