Oh look, its (most of) the Red Umbrella Project Trans Women’s Theatre Troupe, at rehearsal this week. At our event at Joe’s Pub on November 14th we will be presenting the debut performance of the troupe, and it is going to be awesome. They are working on a devised piece of theatre, based on group improv sessions.
Last night we hit our goal on the Red Umbrella Diaries documentary Kickstarter, which focuses on seven storytellers who will be doing monologues at Joe’s Pub and sharing the stage with the trans women’s troupe. Buuuuuuttt… if we reach our stretch goal of $18,000 we will be able to produce and edit a short film about the troupe that we will make available online. In addition to shooting the performance, our crew will interview troupe members at their rehearsals and edit a video that will showcase the work of the troupe.
So let’s make this happen - check out the Red Umbrella Diaries Kickstarter page and back it if you can. Any amount helps - really.

We did our first storytelling rehearsal last night for the Red Umbrella Diaries gala at Joe’s Pub on November 14. It was pretty great, and the stories are going to be amazing.
We are also making steady progress toward our goal for funding our documentary on Kickstarter - please pitch in and support our project if you can. Rewards include lots of sex worker made media!

For those of you in NYC or planning to be in NYC for our November 14th event at Joe’s Pub, backing our Kickstarter is the ONLY way to purchase tickets for the show. There will not be tickets available at the door of the event.
During the show, you can expect to see not just the seven storytellers who will be featured in the documentary, but also the debut performance of our Trans Women’s Theatre Troupe, who will be presenting an original piece of theater about the experiences of trans women of color.
Bar stool seating: $35 per ticket
Main floor table seating: $50 per ticket
Priority seating: $100 for one ticket, $160 for two tickets
VIP tables: $350 and up

Hey all! There’s a few more days left in our open pitching period for Issue 3 of Prose & Lore. This is the first time we’re opening up submissions to folks outside of our programs in NYC, and we’re excited about hearing from you all.
Ok, yeah, the deadline is soon - but don’t panic. You don’t have to write an entire piece by the 14th. Just send us your idea, and we’ll work with you to make it a real thing. Read more and pitch here.
