Oh look, its (most of) the Red Umbrella Project Trans Women’s Theatre Troupe, at rehearsal this week. At our event at Joe’s Pub on November 14th we will be presenting the debut performance of the troupe, and it is going to be awesome. They are working on a devised piece of theatre, based on group improv sessions.
Last night we hit our goal on the Red Umbrella Diaries documentary Kickstarter, which focuses on seven storytellers who will be doing monologues at Joe’s Pub and sharing the stage with the trans women’s troupe. Buuuuuuttt… if we reach our stretch goal of $18,000 we will be able to produce and edit a short film about the troupe that we will make available online. In addition to shooting the performance, our crew will interview troupe members at their rehearsals and edit a video that will showcase the work of the troupe.
