On the Best Seller List

WHAT?
The Reviewer, a scathing but funny short story is not yet published but already on the Amazon Best Seller List : #68 in the category of short reads.

It takes a look at the life of an unhinged Indie-writer and his daily travails on social media. And, I guarantee you will laugh (and cringe).

Not recommended for:
Other Indie-Authors
Those lacking a sense of humor
Readers in general...

Don't Read This Short Story

As the paperback giveaway wraps up, I'm happy to announce a new short story will be released on February 2. (If the world doesn't end before that date).

It's called "The Reviewer" and should NOT be read by any of the Indie Authors here!

Fynn is back, sort of...

COLD CITY
Book 4 in the Tractus Fynn Mystery Series was released today...

Inspector Fynn has been murdered and only his best friend Patrick can save him. Not an easy task. To do so he must translate the fabled Voynich Manuscripts, travel to the shores of the Aral Sea, and then to the past to solve a baffling spate of murders aboard the RMS Carpathia in 1903.

At 2000 pages all told, it's perfect for binge-reading

Siri and other voices

A special message going out to all my beta-readers: thanks for participating, those who have responded, and even those who haven’t— your silence speaks volumes.

Some of you are confounded, and that’s likely because you have not read any of the other three Tractus Fynn Mysteries. Book four, Cold City, is now slated of publication in November, a few days from now.

To be sure there are some typos in the manuscript and thanks for catching those. You have read draft 4— the final published version reaches draft 12 before publication. Perhaps draft is too strong a word, I might call them read-throughs. I will also add that all and any anachronisms are purely intentional.

Along with your comments and criticisms, some of you have now asked about the editing process… Revising is a laborious process, so I’ve learned to apply technology here. The book is read back to me by a variety of computer voices (think Siri). There are about a dozen voices for the Macintosh, each with a distinct inflection. Some are better than others. What mistakes I don’t see I can now hear. In all, the process helps with punctuation, flow and readability. In the end, if Stephen Hawking can make this book sound good, then I know the novel is done.

Of course, the final read through is my own voice, aloud, and by the end rather hoarsely.

Tractus Fynn Returns

COLD CITY, Book Four, in the Tractus Fynn Mystery Series was sent to Beta Readers today and will be published next month.

The usual thing: Historical fiction disguised as dialog-driven Detective fiction-- Twisty, turny, subtle, and humorous-- Time travel noir...

About half this novel takes place aboard the RMS Carpathia in 1903.

If you'd like to join the other beta readers, please drop me a line.

You probably don't want to read this at all, unless you've mastered the first three volumes. Available exclusively for Kindle Unlimited and Amazon Prime.

Thanks,
MK
