Author Interview : Joseph Rinaldo

Today's Author interview is Joseph Rinaldo. He's part of the Blog-A-Licious Book launch over at held by Pandora at Peace from Pieces. In my choice of authors to host that contacted me, I was intrigued by the story Joseph had to tell.

Terry C. Simpson: What is your book about?

Joseph Rinaldo: For me, genre is very difficult to pin down, and I hate to be put in a box labeled "genre", but I guess if I had to, I'd call it contemporary fiction. Hazardous Choices follows a young man from Chicago...

Author Interview : Stephen Hise

So for today, we have Stephen Hise, author of Upgrade. I first encountered Stephen in my facebook group, Book Junkies. He was and still is one of the funniest and most engaging people I've met there. He's also a person who devotes his time to helping other authors get the word out.

Terry C. Simpson: What is your book about?

Stephen Hise: I can't really identify a recognized genre for it. I call it a bodice-ripper with a Twilight–Zone twist. It is the story of a wealthy computer geek who has...

Author Interview : Keta Diablo

Today's interview is with Keta Diablo. A writer of Fantasy romance. One of the things that drew me to Keta was her covers and the fact she had trading cards. Now how awesome is that? You'll find a couple after the interview.

Author Interview: Elaine Raco Chase

Well, if you didn't know by now, I love my sword and sorcery/epic fantasy books, but once in a while, I stop in and check out some romance. Don't tell my friends. The guys will never let me live it down. Well, a line to a novel by, Caculated Risk, by Elaine Raco Chase grabbed me.

"Lady, I want you to stop seducing my son! Hell, what are you, thirty-two, thirty-four, Rob is seventeen..there's room for a whole other person!"

I smiled and went on to check out some of her books, and she responded t...

Author Interview : Anastasia V. Pergakis

So today begins my weekly author interviews. First up is Anastasia V. Pergakis, fantasy author of Cleanse Fire. [image error]Without further ado:

Terry C. Simpson: What is your book about?

Anastasia V. Pergakis: Cleanse Fire is a fantasy adventure novel, although I tend to think of it as an action thriller and the characters just happen to be elves. It appeals to both men and women readers as it has plenty of fight scenes, bad-ass girls, and a bit of romance too.

Terry C. Simpson: What inspired you to write ...

Epic Fantasy Novel, Etchings of Power released.

What a journey.

So, I sit here numb. Why? Well, today my book officially published.

I actually clicked the publish button yesterday and wasn't sure how I felt then.  Well now I can say I'm so elated that I'm numb. Someone pinch me, please.

This started in 2001, when I was working at Verizon. My best friend Hughey and I always got together and talked about the books we read. We both felt there were so many great authors out there, but for some reason, we couldn't always find the books that moved ...

Amazon ups the ante in 2011.

With its release of four new kindle versions this year, including the touch and the tablet, Amazon is digging in and daring others to step up before they put more of a strangle hold on the ebook market. Lets run them down, shall we?

Latest generation Kindle – Lighter, faster, and more affordable than ever – only $79

The Kindle Touch : Ringing in at $99, it has an IR touch system, similar to the latest Nook and Kobo, and there's no physical keyboard . It's slimmer, smaller and lighter than the ...

Adventures in Mapmaking

So now that the book is complete, there are still quite a few things left to be done. I decided now was the time to take my map from the numerous rough sketches I have to something more permanent and presentable. Bear in mind, I've never done a map before.

First, I went about searching for software. After several experiments, I settled on a combination of Fractal Terrains, Campaign Cartographer 3 and Photoshop. Why so many? When I drew my maps free hand, I just didn't feel...

Epic Fantasy Novel, Princep's Fury reviewed

Princeps' Fury (Codex Alera, #5)Princeps' Fury by Jim Butcher

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Let me start this review by saying that I am a Jim Butcher fan. I love the Dresden files. I like the Codex Alera series. On to the review.

Princep's Fury is a good book.

However if you're expecting the witty, grit of the Dresden files, and the surprising outcomes Dresden has to offer then you may be disappointed. This series so far did have a couple twists but at this point, Princep's Fury is a straight forward all out action, war, magic...

Epic Fantasy novel, Shadow's Lure review

Shadow's Lure (Shadow Saga, #2)Shadow's Lure by Jon Sprunk

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Death, despair, political intrigue, sword and sorcery, plots intertwined within plots. Sinister characters who will stop at nothing to accomplish their goals, those who believe in the greater good and suffer for it, clans on the edge of eradication unless they succumb to the will of evil. In the middle again is our man Caim, now in the North, seeking out his past and his future, drawn by the very darkness and shadows that are his birthright. ...
