Aegis of the Gods Book 3, Intro to Celina

For those who have followed this series, for those who have read the Shadowbearer, here is your first sighting of a grown Celina, Ancel’s sister. Part of the prologue.

AEGIS OF THE GODS BOOK 3

Queen Celina was of a mind to order one of her Deathbringers to take Commander Giomar’s head. A few steps below her throne, on bended knee, head bowed, he had attempted to defend his erroneous ways. Now, he awaited her judgment. To his credit, after his return from Granadia, he had seen fit to present him...

Game of Thrones Season 3

So tonight begins Game of Thrones Season Three. As a big fan of the books, I’ll be watching. I can’t wait to see what they do with the dragons and to see two of my favorite characters, Tyrion and Arya. What are yours?

Back when I reviewed season one, I considered the show must-see T.V. Some have issues with the sex, violence, or portrayal of women. Not I. I accept it for what it is. Entertainment and the telling of a story from a master. A weaver of imaginations that can stir the soul of one s...

Epic Fantasy Review: Game of Souls on IAReviews.com

All authors appreciate constructive reviews. We love good reviews. In general, reviews help us to know what we’re doing wrong, what we’re doing right, and sometimes offers input for future work. Reviews can sometimes be the lifeblood of an author. They matter a lot when it comes to visibility on Amazon, Goodreads and the like.

Most of all though, reviews let us know how we did our job. When we feel we have accomplished what we set out to do, it’s pleasing to know. Here is the first blog review...

Movies: Rurouni Kenshin Trailer

For those who don’t know, I’m a huge anime and asian movie fan. Donnie Yen, Jet Li, Tony Leung, Chow Yun Fat, John Woo, Aaron Kwok, from way back in the Shaw Brothers days to recent hits like The Storm Riders, to anime like Violence Jack to recent hits like Naruto, Bleach, etc, I have always been an enthusiast.

Now I see one of my favorite anime’s especially, the OVAs has a live action version. Kenshin. I hope it lives up to the anime.

Second Aegis of the Gods Book 3 Excerpt

Continued from Echoes of War

As usual, raw before my editor touches it.

Through the short metal tube of his looking glass, Kester Menin watched the last of the strangers as they headed into the pass, the dying vestiges of sunlight glinting off helms and armor. He ignored the misty swirls of his breath as it spiraled up. Why anyone would want to find a home in Benez’s ruins was beyond him. The spirits of the dead infested the place, part of the lingering taint left by the Shadowbearer and the at...

Epic Fantasy: Aegis of the Gods Book 3

As yet, I have not decided on a title, nor am I close. I’m considering having a contest to allow one of my fans to name this particular book. Regardless, the writing has begun. Here is the first excerpt from the start of this new adventure.

Echoes of War

He strode through ruins. Ash fell, sooty snow against a backdrop of blue and grey. The blue was natural, carrying a hint of the setting sun. The grey billowed up from the smoldering skeletons of the city’s corpse. What once had been pristine fl...

Epic Fantasy: Game of Souls released

Game of Souls, the Quintessence Cycle, Book 1,

The beginning on a new epic fantasy series.

I began writing Game of Souls in November last year. So far, this is my best work yet. The story, the world, the characters just came to me. I became lost in it as I wrote. I had no shortage of ideas or plot lines. As it began to come together and I had some folks read and critique it, I realized then how much I had improved, how much better my dialogue and characterization had become. There’s still plent...

Epic Fantasy Map for Game of Souls

So for a Game of Souls, Book 1 in the Quintessence Cycle, I had to build a new map. After all, it’s a completely new world crafted from scratch. It does exist in the same Omniverse as Denestia, which should make for some good future content in the coming years. My cartography and skill in photoshop, fractal terrains and campaign cartographer have increased with my writing. So has my formatting in fact. All in all this is the most enjoyable undertaking in my life. Without further ado, welcome...
