Colourful Ball

[image error] In my Research Methodology classes, my students needed to do an annotation of journal article for their first assignment. The assignment asked them to work in a small group, find a research journal article that they like and then annotate it. Instead of merely describing what they read, they needed to be critical by discussing the research journal article from the point of its aim, research question, methodology an methods, data collection, literature review and findings.

I received feedback f...

The washing line in Curriculum Development Classroom

In the Curriculum Development class today, we discussed the topic of curriculum workers. The discussion about the role of leaders in schools and education departments, teachers and role of students. We tried to relate the experiences that we have had during our schooling time. I provided guidance for my students to try to bring them to the point where they can reflect specifically on their learning experiences in classroom and on their experiences of school culture. This activity made them aw...

ASSESSMENT BINGO

This week I used the game BINGO to play with my students. After discussing exams and their experience of taking them throughout the years, in primary to secondary school, I decided to create a learning experience using the BINGO game. Do you know how to play BINGO?

So normally we play BINGO using number from 1 to 25. We then fill the numbers inside a 5x5 table. After that, we take turns to choose a number and highlight them. We get a point once we manage to highlight 5 numbers ina row, column...

MITI and LTME

This week I would like to write about the experience doing a book talk to Ministry of International Trade and Industry officers.

For the second time around, I have been invited by the ministry to talk about the books I have written: LTME1 and LTME2. In my last visit, I had only published the the first book and the second book was still in a draft version. So, I had to assess critically what to repeat and what new exciting experiences to share with the audience. I wanted to try to be new and fr...

assessment of opportunities

This week we discussed the topic of validity and reliability in the Assessment of Education class. Instead of doing an explanation to mys students, I decided to let them try, explore and experience assessment by answering quizzes themselves. I started the class by giving them 2 quizzes of 10 questions on common knowledge. The questions for both quizzes were the same except that the first quiz was about general knowledge from different countries, while the second was about
Malaysia. We talked...

the IntervieW story

This week I am doing some preparation for an online interview. An interview is another kind of assessment. So I think this week, I just want to write about the experiences that I have had and also trying to give myself some motivation...haha...

I been to a few interviews before. The most memorable was when I did my interview after I finished my SPM and was trying to get a place in the Teacher Training Institute. It was very clear in my head, the feeling of being nervous and excited. Yes, it wa...

Assessment!

I have stopped writing for a few months now. This week I decided to write again to celebrate the new task that I have given to my students. Yes, I am now working as a part time lecturer in Unitar International University.

My earlier plan was to stay in the UK until my PhD started but then I have received a job offer through a phone call right before I went to the UK. Too precious to say no, I decided to just give it a try and flew back to Malaysia 2 weeks ago.

In my Assessment for ducation clas...

Photo albums

Last Raya holiday, when I was home and enjoying time with family, I had a chance to flip through the old photo albums. I was busy making some Raya cookies (believe it or not) at that time when suddenly I opened a cabinet and found the albums. Luckily for us because my eldest sister likes to collect photos and has keep them in nice albums. So the photos are in well condition.

Flipping through the album with my sisters and brothers and my mom and my dad, we were laughing and joking a lot. Lookin...

You find your happiness in different ways

Sometimes you might be thinking about the way you do things and the way that things happen to you. The decisions that you made or the decisions you did not make. Will they give you happiness? Or will they bring you sadness?

Guess what? Always remember that you will find your way soon. In different ways from other people. Happiness is so subjective so no one knows what makes other people happy. You might be happy about something but someone might be sad because of the same thing.

The problem is...

SELAMAT HARI RAYA 2015!

SELAMAT HARI RAYA...
...to all! it's never too late to wish right? As we celebrate Aidilfitri for a month!

it was a very interesting Raya celebration for me and my family this year. All of my siblings were finally able to be back at home and celebrate together. It has been a while since everyone could make it on the first day of Raya at home. So it was very nice to have all of us together.

Next year, I'm not sure... Let's just hope for the best and appreciate what we have for now.

How about your...
