Yes, It's Been A While...
I know that the re-edit was supposed to be out by now, but there were a few set backs.
I won't go into the finer details, but to put it bluntly, there has been a bit of a falling out between me and Erudite Small Press as I knew it. Well, the person at least.
When I met Alan Taylor, he promised me riches and thought the book would sell millions. That as i found out is only possible through lots and lots of advertising, which Erudite doesn't have a budget for at all. The little advertising that has been put into the book and has resulted in a decent amount of sales, has been done out of my pocket directly. That is the main reason for what has taken place.
There has been a private settlement made after I brought legal charges against Erudite Small Press. Things such as miss handling of books during the shipping process that resulted in scratches. Several books that have not been accounted for and therefor never paid for, have come up. And lastly, the editing. Now I know that I am not the best at self editing, I will honestly admit that. However, you would think an English major would be. Yes, it was a big book, but there were still hundreds of typos missed. It has been a failing point of some of the lesser reviews.
I am happy to say that all these problems have been taken care of, in a way. I now own Erudite Small Press. Yes, that's right, after the settlement, I came away with the keys to the small kingdom as it will. This means that I own all my rights again, and am no longer under contract. This also means that I can hire any editor I want. And Jimmy Blake is the one that has already edited the re-edit at this point and done a wonderful job.
The down side of this is that my knowledge of the publishing world is limited. In a normal scenario, this would mean another delay in the next few books coming out while I catch up. However I have found a way to make things a bit easier. Since the book, Demon Vampire has been split into three volumes, Demon Vampire, Bloodlines, and Ascension; and the book has already been published under Erudite, I will be using the same Amazon services they used to release the book, except with one addition, Print On Demand. It was discussed a while ago when I wan signing the first contract, but it was dismissed because it didn't make them enough money. Now that I own Erudite, I'm willing to make the sacrifice. The books will be available as follows:
Demon Vampire Vol.1: $6.99 Kindle/ $8.99 Print
Bloodlines Vol.2: $7.99 Kindle/ $9.99 Print
Ascension Vol.3: $8.99 Kindle/ $10.99 Print
SSR 1192 Vol.4: $4.99 Kindle/ $6.99 Print
Yes, that's right, the book will only be $2.00 more than the ebook, making it very affordable to buy in print now. Especially versus the old price of $18.97. This way, you can enjoy the book at your pace and buy as you finish them.
As far as Redgold Vol.5 of The Redgold Series, the one that everyone has been waiting for, I will still be entertaining the idea of an outside publisher. Mainly, I want my book in Barnes & Noble and Walmart, something that is difficult right now through Erudite.
As all this goes forward, you can rest assured that the books will only get better. I will be using several professional editors from now on and the difference will be felt with the release of the first re-edit.
Thank you for your time in reading this and supporting my writing career. Don't forget to sign up for the newsletter, join the blog, add me on good reads, and like me on facebook.

Two Weeks
I am on the last few pages of the re-edit. I give it about two weeks, and it will be out.
So far, the little additions to the books, small ways of describing things, the two extra chapters, and the complete overhaul of the current flow of the chapters.
The changes you can expect are great, but they won't take away from what you already loved about the story. To address each, here's a list of some of the alterations.
There were a few confusing ways in which I worded a few descriptions. I tend to use overly poetic ways of telling a situation and that tends to lend multiple ways of interpreting the scene I'm painting. Though I kept the end descriptions, I either added a few lines to make them easier to read, or reworked the flow of the sentence to make it easier to the reader in general.
The Sub Chapters Red and Black have gone far better than I had imagined. The two dream sequences were able to be placed in a way that gives of beautiful and needed extra connection between Zack and Kyli.
The first edition of Demon Vampire had fifteen chapters for the 10.5 times new roman font 500 page small border book. It was packed far too tight for even the more gilded readers that have loved the book so far. That is one of the biggest changes, More Chapters. I will should be adding at least two more chapters to what I already have and that will put the first Demon Vampire book at about Twenty Chapters. Now I know that you're thinking, five more chapters isn't a whole lot more than fifteen, but you have to remember, this is just part one of three of the re-edit. The next two volumes shoulder be around 20-25 chapters each. That means around 60-70 chapters that will be made out of the original 15 chapters. A welcome break to any ready that slugged through the book wanting to only put it down at the end of a chapter. This is for you.
Overall the book reads better. I had decided to take a new direction with Demon Vampire: Redgold. This change in the flow and pacing of the chapters and in the book in general has translated to the changes in the re-edit of Demon Vampire.
Thank you all for your continued support of the book as it goes through these changes. The original version of the book will still be available after part one comes out. However, there will be a few price changes. Because the old version of the book will be outdated, it will go up in price to serve as an anthology type book set with the contents of the first three novels. The new re-edit will remain the same price as the current version of the book on Kindle.
There is also good news to those that still enjoy the feel of a real book in hand over an eReader. Instead of the painful $18.97 that the current 500 page novel is set at. It's small font making it difficult to read in t a well lit room... The new re-edit will be a standard font size that is pleasing to the eye. It will also be pleasing to the budget at only $8.99 for the physical book. That's only a two dollar difference between the eBook and the print copy. This will make it much easier to those of you that were considering getting the book in the past, but held off because of the high price of the older version.
For now, I'm going back to editing the rest of the book.
Enjoy the night,
Sincerely,
Virgil Allen Moore

This Was A Good Week...
1012 Downloads in Five Days!!!
The USA was the leader at 876
The UK followed with 112
Even Japan downloaded 14 copies
In total 1012 people downloaded the book in the five day promo week for the book.
As you might have noticed, the price also dramatically changed. This has it's reasons. Mainly, as counter intelligent as it sounds, I don't want people to buy that version of the book anymore. Yes, you read right. I'm telling you NOT to buy that version of the book anymore. The re-edit will be released in a few weeks in three installments. Each will have added chapters as I had mentioned, but besides fixing a few concerns about the original editing of the book, there is also a re-write to this new version. There were a few small details that were confusing the way I wrote them and I have smoothed out several areas with this in mind.
I had said that I would be providing the "Sub Chapters: Black and Red" on the blog, along with a list of where they fit in. This is proving a massive problem. The book's current chapters are also being heavily re-worked. What was once 15 chapters will not be about 90, considering about 25 to 30 chapters per book. Because of this, just posting the sub chapters will be a nightmare, and not a good one;) So, I have a solution to the faithful. When the book is ready, and posted to Amazon Kindle, I will express an offer.
Contact me at virgilallenmoore@live.com and I will send you a free ebook copy of the re-write in exchange for a simple review. This offer is open to not only those who have read the first version of the book, but anyone willing to read the book and write a review on it through Amazon. I'm not asking for a mammoth dictation of everything you felt during the book, thought that would be nice, all I require is a few sentences about what you thought about the book and to post them. That's all. You get a free read, and I get an honest review. Nice and easy, spread the blood over-easy;)
PS: To all those die hard uber fans of mine, Kathy, Nora, Bella, this has to do with you as well - I will be sending you out advance copies of the re-write once it's ready for advance review. So be ready, you will have some reading to do. I figure this is a one-up from giving you the first chapter of the next book, seeing that will be another 6 months from now.
Sincerely,
Virgil Allen Moore

Demon Vampire Free Download Week On Kindle!!!
Yes, that's right. The book will be a free download all this week through Friday.
This week will be the last of the free downloads for this current version of Demon Vampire. As I have hinted towards in past posts, the book is undergoing a re-edit. So far, it's going surprisingly well. Not only am I changing the initial flow of the book in the beginning, I'm also adding six chapters in total to the current material. The book will be split into three separate novels with two additional chapters each. It will allow the relationship between Zack and Kyli to come to the forefront sooner.
After this week, The current version of Demon Vampire on Kindle will be altered, if not removed all together. Be assured that you will not lose the book on your Kindle, it will only be unavailable to buy after this week. The re-edited version, the first part, will be released the following week under the same title name. The next two sections of the book will have separate titles as well.
The "Sub Chapters" that I will be adding to the book will all be available to read for free on the blog. This way, anyone that has bought or downloaded the prior versions of the book, will be able to read them and know where they should be located in the main storyline.
So as a farewell to the current version of Demon Vampire, I would like to have it reach 2,000 downloads this week. That means that there needs to be about 500 downloads each day to accomplish this. So tell EVERYONE to DOWNLOAD DEMON VAMPIRE ON KINDLE!

Started The Next Volume Already
It's not titled yet, but I wanted to let everyone know that I have started writing the next volume in The Redgold Series already. I'm 3100+ words into it after a few hours.
And think, all I have is just about 70,000+ to go;) ...yeah me.
I also wanted to let everyone know that I might be going with another publisher for Demon Vampire: Redgold. There is good news and bad news to this. First, If I can get a different publisher, that will mean a greater number of people will be able to read the series. However, the bad portion is that this process will take longer even if I am not able to get the new publisher. About 4-6 months in total. I will be submitting next week and beginning the long process. But as of now, it looks like Redgold is going to be delayed at least until May 2013.
There is a plus side to this. The re-edit of Demon Vampire will be released sooner than later. Along with the errors, the book will be getting a marginal re-write. I will be adding six completely new chapters to the book. To those of you that have already purchased and read the book, don't fret. I will be posting a link to read the new chapters on the blog for free. That way you don't have to re-buy the book in order to know the addition to the story.
The Sub-Chapters Red and Black, as I call them, are dreams that Zack has involving some of the other characters. It plays more to establish the romance between Zack and Kyli and gives a better sense of their connection throughout the series. It is an important set of chapters that will be an on-going them in the later books. I will be listing where these chapters are located, as them have no actual chapter number to them. That's why they don't interfere with the story in the way adding a new chapter to an already finished book might do. They are windows into the story that haven't been explored yet. It's kind of like the first chapter, but lighter and it will make more direct sense;)
I have also found out that the Dover, DE, Acorn Books Signing will be set in January. The date isn't final yet, so I will keep you all posted.
Sincerely,
Virgil Allen Moore

You Are All Going To Love This
In the past year, there have been a few comments about the editing of Demon Vampire.
"Don't complain, just throw someone under the bus and make sure no one sees you driving it."
My editor, Alan Taylor, at Erudite Small Press is a good man. He started Erudite with a goal of getting into the Publishing Industry. He saw the potential in my story and did the best he could in editing it's 242,000+ words over the course of four months. He did a pretty good job. Better than I did. I unfortunately have never been know for being perfect in the world of grammar. I learned poetry and old English, and read Gothic works before any real modern writing. It skewed my take on everything to come. That said, Alan did what he could.
On October 30th, 2012, the publishing rights contract for Demon Vampire was lifted. Meaning that they no longer own the print rights to the book. With this in mind, I offered Alan a deal. I bring in a new editor for book two and he lets me publish it under his label. He enjoyed the idea and added a bonus. Demon Vampire will be sent back to editing.
That's right, Demon Vampire will be rewritten.
There will also be a few more additions to the already long book. A few plot holes will be discussed. Or at least explained. (I rarely leave anything out due to error. It's more part of a much larger picture.) Also, the book will be split into three. Making each book about 83,000+ words after the rewrite. Around 350 pages or so. Much more manageable than before. No more chapters that leave you looking for a life preserver in the sea of pages. All these issues of this will be addressed.
This means that the current "Book Two" that I just finished, will actually be book four. Don't worry, this one won't be a back breaking edition. It will be about 290 pages in total.
There is also a surprise that I will be announcing at the book signing. Granted, there hasn't been a date set for it yet, but I will be timing it around that event. Trust me, you will all enjoy it. I will be talking about a few things that will happen in Demon Vampire: Redgold as well. And as I mentioned earlier, I will be taking email addresses at the book signing to send out the first chapter of Demon Vampire: Redgold.
For now, know that I have a lot in store for the series. And to be sure to tell your friends about the book. If this is going to be made into a movie, I'll need all the support I can get.

Holy Freakin' Expletive!!!! I've Finished Book Two!!!!
That's right, Today I reached a point of clarity that I haven't found in a long while. I wrote the last 11,000 words of book two in The Redgold Series.
This put the book at about 274 pages in total. Of course editing still needs to be done on it and it won't come out for a few more months, but it's one more step towards being able to be read by everyone. Of course those that had pre-ordered book one a year ago will be getting an advance chapter before everyone else. All you have to do is email me at virgilallenmoore@live.com and I'll confirm that you bought the book in pre-order. From there, I'll email you the first chapter of book two. And maybe a little extra news about the series too. You'll just have to email me to find out what though;)
Also, I have some more news about the book signing. Because the eye of the hurricane made landfall in Dover, DE, the city is still repairing things and getting back on track. Unfortunately, a grand opening doesn't appear to be a high priority when people need roads cleared and power restored. I can whole-heartedly understand that at least, but the time frame may be pushed back as far as December, possibly even January or February. So as usual I will keep you all posted as to when the signing will occur.
In the meantime, I will be sending out two signed books to the Acorn Books store along with a full sized poster. The same poster that on the day of the signing I will be giving away to one faithful fan.
So for now, email me about book two, and expect big news about the whole series soon.

I'm Alive! And The Signing Is Still On!
Not only did I survive and the storm didn't take me out. Dover, the city through which the hurricane made landfall, is still there!
Although the timeline has probably been pushed back a bit, there will still be a signing there. As soon as the Chamber of Commerce has recovered from the natural disaster then and only then will they set the Grand Opening date of Acorn Books. I will as always keep you all posted on the timeline of events.
Also, I hope to have a few signed copies of Demon Vampire sent to Acorn Books by next week.
For now, know that I am hard at work writing the next book in The Redgold Series.

I Have An Announcement, Another Book Signing!!!
I will be at Acron Books in Dover, Delaware for their Grand Opening Event.
I will be there in person to Autograph and talk about vampires in general.
There will also be perks to those who buy Demon Vampire that night. You will get 10% off to the Italian Restaurant Vincenzo's, that is located in the same strip mall within walking distance. All you have to do is show them the book and you will get the discount for that night. Also, while supplies last, I'll be giving away FREE chocolate and hot chocolate to all those that come in and drop by to see the signing.
The address of Acorn Books is 1030 Forrest Ave., Suite 114, Dover, DE 19904.
The time of the Signing hasn't been put down, but then again the date of it hasn't either. I will let you all know the day and time ASAP of course. It should be at least two weeks from now to let you know if anyone is planning on making a trip out of it.
I will also be taking down email addresses of all those who purchase the book there. The people on that list will be sent the first chapter of the next book in The Redgold Series for FREE. All you have to do is buy the book and write down your email on my ledger.
Unlike the last book signing in downtown Fredericksburg, Virginia, There will be no... Civil War Reenactments to deal with. No hordes of people combing the streets to find parking (myself included). And thankfully there will be no small two foot by two foot table for me to cram all of my books onto. No, thankfully this book store is planning ahead. I will have my full six foot table with banner and all the trimmings. There will be ample parking, no city events to compete with, and even someone to chronicle the night with a good camera. Yes, that's right, new pictures will be posted! Also the sheer size of this store is great. They have over 3600 sqft of floor room, filled with plenty of books, some of which are soon to include mine.
I will keep all of you posted on the changes to come these following weeks.
And yes, I haven't forgotten. Today starts another Demon Vampire GoodReads book giveaway!!! Enter on the top right hand side of the main page to win.
Enjoy the Giveaway and I will talk to you all soon.
Sincerely,
Virgil Allen Moore
