Want More Demon Vampire? Email Me For An Advance Review
Would you like an advance review copy of the re-release of Demon Vampire?
Of course you would. Now all you have to do is follow two steps.
1. Ask me for a copy at virgilallenmoore@live.com
2. After reading the advance copy, send me your review.
That's all there is to it.
The most creative and in depth reviews will be placed in the print version and ebook kindle versions of the book once it comes out. Since the book won't be out at the time of the advance review, there won't be any place to post the review directly, but then the time comes, I will email you, along with a copy of the review you made, in order to allow you to post it to amazon, goodreads, or anywhere else you might want to post it online.
Nora, Kathy, Bella, I will be sending your copy automatically, don't worry.
Sincerely,
Virgil Allen Moore

The Difficulty Of A Simple Thing
As of last week, everything was set for the photo shoot. As of this weekend, murder is an option.
To Curse And By Chance To Smite;)
To explain, let me begin with where I had initially set the location for this shoot. I had asked a friend of the family if they would be gracious enough to let me use their amazing living room as the backdrop for my covers and beautiful model. Everyone agreed that it would be a bit of a strain using the place for a few hours, but that it would be okay. That my dear readers, was a month ago.
As of a few days ago, the story changed, and not in my favor. Complications came up and the one and only day that I had asked about, and had cleared with two others to make absolutely sure every one had advanced notice to form their schedules, was suddenly taken from me.
Initially murder was the guttural feeling that swelled in my abdomen. Sensations of pain followed immediately after the news. And before I knew it, a deep sadness crept into my mind, telling me that this shoot and my subsequent covers were doomed after all the effort I had put into them.
Thankfully after a minute or two my feelings of homicide departed and I was left with a choice. I could either stop now and lose all the time, money, and planning I had placed into this event - Or I could suck it up like the persistent bastard that I am and move forward with the project.
There are no amount of expletives that can truly explain the depths of which the vindicating spirit rose from within me. How dare I be denied! So I formed a myriad of plans. Antique shops to photo studios, all ideas swirled about me in my rage to find a new location. In the end, it was my dear wife that lead me to the solution - A deluxe penthouse suite at a northern hotel. An elegant solution that had rather unique benefits that I had not considered.
My original location had a time constraint of a few hours. The suite did not. It was something that started my mind on another inviting topic, more photography. It has been a while since I have last presented my face on the site and in general to the public. This opportunity is one I am unable to pass on. After the shoot, I will craft new author photographs for the blog and the books to come, an added benefit indeed.
So therefore in the end and to all it may concern on this behalf, hiccups be damned, the show WILL go on!!!;)
Sincerely,
Virgil Allen Moore

The Meeting Went Well
My model now has clothes!
...To wear for the cover shoot.
I met with the model for the shoot today. Although I am not willing to show you a picture of her as of yet, believe me, you will all enjoy the look-a-like I have found for the role of Kyli.
Today, she saved me the cost of a dress and even turned me onto going to a different store for the shirt and skirt I was looking into.
These are the two styles of outfits that the shoot will focus on. They may seem simple in the drawing, but the reality of it will be very pleasing.
These are a few cover ideas. A few of them are possible cover shots, but in the end, time will tell what gets used and what only gets put on the site.
These are a few more cover ideas. The arm and knife will be the cover for Bloodlines.
The hand writing will be the cover for SSR 1192.
The open hand is just an idea that I've been playing around with.
This is a possible cover shot for the re-release of Demon Vampire.
All and all, I was able to go over the set up of the shoot. The order of make up, the shots, and the changing of clothing. We made a lot of headway and worked out a few needed things. I can't wait to do the shoot on April 19h.

Meeting With My Model Today
Today is the day I do the one thing that even I dread doing as an author... buying new clothes.
And they aren't even for me:(
I will be meeting the model for the cover shoot today and searching out the articles of clothing that will fit into the realm of Kyli Waterfield's style. This should be a relatively easy task, but at the same time, neither of us will have had much sleep. I know that I got around four and a half hours and I don't think that she will be getting much more than five.
The good news: we can both operate on will power and coffee.
I'll let you all know how it goes with an additional post later tonight. As well as some character sketches of the covers that I personally drew. It won't be anything too detailed. There is a reason why I am a writer and not a dedicated artist;)

Thawing Out
Of Course, The Next Day Brings Sunshine...
Irony, you've got to love to hate it. Just yesterday, it was snowing
sideways, SIDEWAYS! And now it's 41 degrees and all melting. My mother is
returning from her motel stay, and all the friends that I helped navigate to
their respective destinations have all gone home.
I am still thankful I never lost power, but my, That was an odd storm.
Even in the sideways snow, the mail still came. I was able to get several
packages delivered, including one of the larger quartz crystals from Brazil,
and even the Fender OEM wiring I had ordered. Yes, for those of you that don't
already know, I dabble with guitars. I play a little, but I love making custom
models when I find the time. My latest project is a semi-hollow Telecaster. I
ordered original Fender equipment for the guts. The guard, switches, and pickup
housings are black, as well as the Grover tuners I just got in for it. The
pickups, mounting bridge, Bigsby Tremolo, and the strings are all silver. As
for the mahogany body, I decided to stain it a deep blood red. When I'm done in
a week or two, I'll be sure to post pictures.

Snowed In
There is one silver lining to being snowed in - power.
While all the other housing regions around me usually loose power each time it snows, I am thankful that I never do. About three years ago, my area was hit hard with a snow storm that put my entire zip code out of power for days. After that, my power company decided to upgrade their utility lines. And at about the same time, my current cable company did the same thing. Which means that even though I live in a place where sticks have friends called mud, I have both power and the internet. While others in the main city are more or less without both.
It's not that I am gloating, it's just that it's odd. No one expects me to have power right now, but I do. It's nice in that I can still write, but all those around me, my friends and family, are without power. Something that is dismal in itself, but more over, since they don't have smart phones, I have to google map them to anywhere they need to go... It bites.
The good news is that most of the props for the photo shoot have come in. I had to order crystals from Brazil, LEDs from china, and even jewelry from Kansas. Yes, Kansas doesn't seem like an exotic place to get things from, but they have a really amazing designer there that has made one of the pieces for the shoot. I think a lot of people are going to be suprised by how good everything is turning out.
In the mean time, subscribe and follow the blog. We're up ten from last week.

The Shoot Is On
The Photo Shoot Has Been Confirmed!
In the last post, I was setting things up with a few choice models for the cover photos. As of this week, things have begun for real.
The model has been chosen, the location, most of the individual shots, and even the props are on their way from all over the world. (I love eBay and Amazon;)
At this point, the wardrobe and make up are being all gathered to be ready for the day of shooting. It should be early to mid April at this point. Of course that is tentative to everyone's schedule. But the main thing to take from this is that it is happening.
The last time I paid for a cover, I got everything I asked for. It was beautiful, exactly as I had asked, and it was even done in the time frame I had asked. The price was even very reasonable. However, there was one problem, I didn't ask for more. The last cover was meant as a wrap around for that one book only. This time, I will be taking enough photos to use for up to seven different book covers. That's right, this shoot will get me through the next seven books.
Now I know what you may be thinking - "You don't have seven books!"
"Actually, yes, I do."
Demon Vampire is being cut into three volumes by itself. SSR 1192 has already been out for over a year, which makes it book four. The next book to be released will be entitled Redgold, which will be book five. The side novella after that will be called Five Years, making it book six. Finally, the seventh novel is what I'm currently working on right now. It doesn't have a title yet, but it will soon.
After those seven photos have been used for the covers, I will be doing another shoot. I will be using a different model for that one though. She will be made up to look like Sophialla. The short, petite, long blonde haired vixen that was only mentioned in the later part of Demon Vampire. She will be the next character immortalized on the covers.
As for the current character, it will be Kyli Waterfield envisioned by a live model.
To those that think seven photos of Kyli will be a bit monotonous, it won't all be her exactly. I have come up with an array of images to photograph that will all have an equally diverse impact on the eye and mind.
For now, know that I am hard at work with the series. Everything is coming together for the re-release. Imagine, within the year, over a hundred thousand people all reading and talking about The Redgold Series. Please, tell everyone you know about this site and have them follow through feedburner at the top right of the site. Because if you do, it will help everyone to read this fantastic story. You have the power to spread the word, now go, and talk about Demon Vampire to the next person you see.

Great News, One Is Done!!
Book One Is Done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have sent off book one of The Redgold Series back to the editor for final proofing. (Jimmy, you are awesome.) Everyone, Thank Jimmy Blake, please. He has turned the novel around from being dismissed for the spelling and punctuation errors that caused it those few low reviews.
In a while, hopefully about a month, the book will be ready for re-release.
It will also have a new cover.... If things go well. The current artist did wonderful in creating the likeness of Kyli, but there was still something missing from the image - A pulse. That's right, the new cover for the book will be a live model. The model hasn't been confirmed yet, but I will ultimately be shooting the cover in about a month's time. Meaning that right now, the logistics matter more than anything. As long as I find the right subject by the last minute, everything will go well and you all will be able to see the new look of Kyli Waterfield.
As for all the headache with Erudite Small Press, things have calmed down. I've found out that I wasn't just thinking I was in over my head, I found out that is how it was supposed to be with one person managing a whole publishing company that they won in a legal dispute over royalty payments. Yes, everything is just wonderful;) ...(There was expletives that I wish to omit right now for the sake of the younger readers of my work. Rest assured that I am getting everything done as quickly as I am able with all that I have to juggle on my plate.)
For now, simply subscribe to the blog, lend as much support as you can over the next month. The more hype the re-launch gets, the more the sales go up, and the more work I will be able to put into the rest of the series as a whole.
Sincerely,
Virgil Allen Moore

And Now Onto Massive Editing
This week I will do that which is feared by all authors... Editing.
I will be tackling Bloodlines and I hope to have most of it done this week. Remember that even the professional editor I paid for this book took 3 months to edit it. That means I have my work cut out for me in the re-write.
The good news is that once the new version of the book comes out, it will mean that the old version, the one that most people got signed personally by me, will be more valuable in the end. Mainly, because they will be completely out of print as soon as the new version is released.
I will be offering an anthology version of the book, which will be books 1-3 on Kindle and in print. All those wanting a 680+ page book, you're welcome. It will also be at a discount when buying it on Kindle as well.
In the mean time, I am prepping the first chapter of the re-write to be released on the blog, so be sure to follow the feed, hit like, and join the follower list to stay in touch for it.
Until Then, Enjoy The Night.
Sincerely,
Virgil Allen Moore
