Re-Cutting Teeth

Lately I've been spending too much time marketing and playing the good writer to actually lay down a solid stream of thought on my book.

That changes tonight.

I have set other activities above my writing in the past few weeks. Things needed of me that have taken a great deal of time away from my writing, but necessary things none the less.

Over the course of the next evening I will be dashing all the small items on my daily list of dutiful chores and errands to instead simply write. In a usual session, which lasts 2-3 hours, I am able to writer around two to three thousand words. I hope that given a full day of around 16 hours and a bit more caffeinated tea than I am willing to admit, I will be able to clear 15-20,000 words.

As for the full time frame of my maddened rush to jump start the verbose monster that slumbers inside.... That is to be determined. I can say that I won't be answering any emails, or generally be online until after or around Monday at least.

So for now, have a great weekend, be sure to rate the book on goodreads below, and I will let you all know how much fruit I will have picked.

Sincerely,

Virgil Allen Moore

Next Cover Idea

I'm still in debate on what the cover of the next Demon Vampire book will be. I've thrown together a few ideas and I know that I definitely want Sophialla on it with the silver sword from the Silveretta emblem with the red crescent moon behind her. What I'm having difficulty with however is what pose to put her in . I know that I want her holding the sword in a downward pose, but the exact angle, and the way she is holding it is a mystery to me.

If anyone has any suggestions, I'm making a contest out of this one. Email me your ideas based on either drawings (yes, they can be crude, it's the pose I'm looking for, not artist quality) or actual photos of people holding swords in a downward fashion. You can email your entries to virgilallenmoore@live.com

The one that influences me the most will receive a signed physical copy of Demon Vampire.

The contest will end at the end of this month, so get your drawings and photos to me soon.

Good Luck and I will hear from you all soon.

Congrats to Nancy Cunha

Nancy Cunha is the winner of this month's giveaway. I will be mailing the book out soon.

A total of 886 people entered the giveaway and this was the first goodreads winner that was in the USA!!! Not that I prefer any one country over another, but the shipping rates are always lighter on domestic freight. So thank you Nancy Cunha, your luck has given you the chance to read Demon Vampire for free this month. It has given me a reprieve at postal costs;)

Next month's giveaway will begin in a few days. Until then everyone can still contact me to receive a free copy of Demon Vampire at virgilallenmoore@live.com

I'm Back

I have spent some time recovering and I feel a good amount better now because of it. I have been busy while I've been away though. I have spent the last two weeks contacting any and all that I can find to review Demon Vampire in exchange for a free copy of the book. Today, I would like to extend that gesture to all of my audience reading this. That's right, just contact me before the end of this month with either your email address, or physical address and I will send you the book for Free. All I ask is that you right a small review, and post it somewhere, then email me the link. Goodreads, amazon, personal blogs, they all count as long as you post it and send me the link.

Just send me an email at virgilallenmoore@live.com

Besides hunting for more readers, I have been networking as well. Bloggerdise.com has placed me in their pages and I will be getting a decent amount of emails from others on the site soon. The greatest part is that it's a free listing. So if any authors are reading, and I know some of you are, visit them and tell them Virgil Moore sent you.

The Meantime

In the last several weeks. I have been reminded what it feels like to be stricken with Streptococcus A and a 104 fever. The delirium of my temperature left me in a state unbefitting a writer.

I do have a few things in the works, but I'm still recovering from the feeling what it's done to me. I will give you all more updates later, but for now, this will have to do.

Update On The Redgold Series

I've had a lot of time to plan out more of the series.

About two years ago, I had written out rough outlines for the entire set. It used to be a total of seven books at the time. The length of the books were all going to be over 200,000+ words each. The first novel, Demon Vampire, being 242,000+ words. Granted, at few chapters for each book seemed a bit long and difficult to read for some. That is why I have decided to break up the series into shorter books that will be released a lot quicker than previously planned.

The prior schedule was a book every 18-24 months. Now I should be able to complete a novel every 9-15 months. Something that most likely appeals to all my readers;)

For now, you can pick up Demon Vampire on Amazon.com

Remember To Remember

There are a great deal of people that I interact with on a weekly basis. The hundreds of people that make up my everyday experiences add little by little to the whole that is my perception of the world around me. Some more than others. It is those exceptional few that are worth remembrance.

Think about everyone you've meet today up until reading this post. Think hard, real hard on the conversations, body language, even facial expressions they gave off while interacting with you. Have you gathered all of those moments in your mind? Good, Now it's time to realize something.

- All of them got you to where you are now.

The way I mean this is literally and figuratively in the same thought. Each small gesture, smile, or nod is time you could have spent somewhere else, but ended up with a certain person instead. Whither or not the conversation, meeting, or general time logged was positive or negative, you experienced it non-the-less.

You may be wondering where I'm going with this, hold on, it's coming.

You may have had an argument with your neighbor, a fight with your spouse, or even an angry driver on the way home. The person next to you on the bus might have had on a pleasant perfume that you enjoyed, you got a letter from an old friend, or someone you didn't know thanked you for being so kind to them in their time of need. All those possible scenarios paint a memory that gives a lasting inpression on your over all mood, and eventually your personality.

You may be thankful for where you are today. That's good. Of all the people that you might want to thank for your success in life, did you ever once think about the fleeting smile a stranger gave you once upon a time year ago? It's things like that that can empower and motivate us all to do amazing things at ordinary times in our lives. In other words -

- Remember the moments that forged the path you now walk.

Without those millions of little interactions to pave the way, you wouldn't be on the road you're now on. Sometimes it's nice to look back and be glad you met so many on your way.

Sincerely,

Virgil Allen Moore
