On to the hop. People often ask me if the stuff in my books is real. My answer is usually a very loud no! But that’s not entirely true. Sure, the sexy parts are all fictional, and the characters and plot are NOT based off of anyone in real life (including myself), but the romance inside the book has a hint of truth to it. I’m a serious romantic. I love when my husband does romantic things. I love when I see other people do romantic things for each other. I especially love seeing an older couple out for dinner together holding hands or staring at each other like their still just as much in love now as they were 40 years ago when they met. It just makes my heart melt and I try to put that kind of romance into each of my books.
Speaking of romance, I’m currently celebrating 2 new releases!! Yay! I can’t believe I have two new books released just two weeks from each other! Feels surreal and super exciting! And since I’m so excited, I’m going to entice you with the blurbs and covers… Aren’t they beautiful?!
First up is a brand new series!! Each book in the series takes place during the filming of a different reality TV show. Here’s the blurb for the first installment in the series called — FALLING FOR YOU.
Newly single Cassidy Quinn is thrilled to be a contestant on the new reality dating show The One. But her excitement turns to horror when the gorgeous bachelor turns out to be her ex-boyfriend. Seeing Brad again makes Cassidy realize she might not be as “over him” as she thought—and then she meets hunky cameraman Evan Burke.
After watching his brother lose his wife in a tragic accident, Evan vows never to fall in love. But following Cassidy around as her personal cameraman makes him question his decision, and resisting her gets harder with every sunbathing, bikini-wearing day.
Cassidy and Evan begin a forbidden affair while her ex-boyfriend tries to win her heart back one groping, awkward moment at a time. If Cassidy can manage to stop falling off horses (literally), stop falling onto her ex-boyfriend, the bachelor (yes, literally), and stop falling in love with backstage playboy Evan, she might still make it through the show without becoming a tabloid sensation.
But soon Cassidy must choose between the ex who broke her heart and the cameraman who might never love her back. For Cassidy, this reality show just got real.
And LOVE OR LUXURY the 3rd Meadow Ridge Romance is now available!! This is the longest and most complex of the series yet. I’m thrilled with how it all came together!
Rebecca’s life of luxury in Meadow Ridge is vanishing faster than the designer clothes from her closet—unless she finds someone to share her life and her rent.
When she meets Finn, the rugged, sexy motorcycle hunk, she thinks her luck has finally changed. There’s just one problem—he’s not from Meadow Ridge. Reid, her high school flame, comes back to town as the Meadow’s most eligible bachelor, with a tendency to spoil his girlfriends, and a gorgeous mansion—everything she’s always wanted.
Now Rebecca’s torn between Finn, the man who lives a simple life outside the Meadow and Reid, the man who can give her the life she’s always wanted.

Stuck on You is Approved!
Hi everyone,
Stuck on You, book 2 in my reality TV romance trilogy, was just approved by my editor at Crimson Romance!! Woot! Squee! It will be released in February 2013!! I’m super excited to share this story with you. In Falling for You, we met Paige, another contestant on The One. Well, now it’s Paige’s turn to be in the spotlight!
Here’s the blurb for Stuck on You!
If being forced to team up with reality TV’s favorite bad girl wasn’t enough, falling for her brother might just make this reality show a real nightmare.
Paige Anderson agrees to be on a new reality show called Treasure Trekkers, a show where contestants use handheld GPS units to find hidden caches filled with prizes, with her good friend Cassidy. But when Cassidy is unable to compete, Chip Cormack, the show’s producer, steps in with a last-minute replacement to be Paige’s partner—Zoe Oliver, reality TV’s favorite bad girl.
Jack Miles (aka Miles) is a mountain climber with the body to prove it. Miles convinced his climbing partner Ben to come on the show with him for one reason—to prove to Ben that they can still hike together, regardless of the fact that Ben lost his foot in a tragic accident. Miles isn’t about to let anything get in his way of winning—not even beautiful Paige.
But when Miles and Paige are thrown into an alliance with their teammates, working closely together leads to more than just good strategy. Can Paige steal Miles’ heart while surviving Zoe long enough to win the game?

5 Stars! “Heather Thurmier really brings the romance home in this novel. I won’t admit this publicly, but I’m a reality show junkie and Heather’s book strikes a chord with me. Anyone who loves romance in the modern era will fall for this novel. Can’t wait to see what she brings next to my library.”

A New Excerpt! And a New 5 Star Review!!
A new Excerpt!!
“You’re jealous of my ex-boyfriend. You’re jealous of that stupid kiss with him.” She didn’t have an ounce of uncertainty in her voice. Damn it.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about, Cassidy.”
“Oh no?” Cassidy sauntered toward him swinging her hips, her voice low and sexy. “So you didn’t mind when he grabbed me and pulled me into his arms and kissed me, hard on the lips?”
He flinched at the memory of Cassidy and Brad kissing. Every agonizing second of that kiss was burned into his brain, and he’d done nothing but compare that kiss to one he’d had with her only hours earlier. Which had she liked more? His anger toward Brad flooded back to him.
“You’re right,” he admitted bluntly, annoyed that Cassidy knew what he was really thinking—that he couldn’t hide his feelings from her. He hadn’t exactly been subtle, but he hadn’t thought he’d been obvious either.
Evan stood up from the bed, mere inches separating himself and Cassidy. She took a step backward, but he caught her arm, stopping her. Minutes earlier, he’d wanted nothing more than to be far, far away from her, but now he didn’t want her to go anywhere.
“I was jealous… No, I am jealous, because ever since I kissed you, I haven’t been able to think of anything else.” I’ve never had a kiss like that before.
Evan swept the back of his hand along Cassidy’s cheek and traced the line of her jaw until his hand stopped under her chin. He held her there, his gaze locked on the green eyes staring back at him.
“All this time, I’ve been fighting to stay away from you, trying to ignore the desperate urge I feel to kiss you.” He sighed, fighting for the right words. “That kiss—it was…amazing. Stopping was one of the hardest things I’ve had to do in a long time.”
His thumb stroked her bottom lip. He wanted to kiss her again.
Don’t do it. Stop.
“I hated seeing you kiss Brad. It was as if someone decided to use my chest for batting practice.” He tried not to focus on her inviting mouth. “I couldn’t believe the same lips I’d just had the most intense pleasure of experiencing, were now smashed up against the surfer boy’s undeserving smart-assed mouth.”
A small gasp escaped her mouth as her lips parted. The urge to kiss her flared inside him, the desire she sparked in him overwhelming. “I acted like a jerk, and I’m sorry.” He didn’t want to feel this way about her. It went against his plans, but he couldn’t help it. Cassidy was simply too much to resist.
“I’m sorry, too,” Cassidy whispered. “I only ever wanted one man to kiss me that day, and it wasn’t the surfer boy. And, there’s only one I want to kiss me again.”
His mouth hovered above hers. “I’m going to assume you mean me.”

Still not convinced? Here’s what one reader had to say about FALLING FOR YOU:
Heather Thurmeier’s voice is distinctively witty, lough-out-loud funny, and sexy. Falling for You is the perfect romance novel for anyone who’s ever found herself addicted to reality TV shows like The Bachelor…
Cassidy is ready to find love with the bachelor on the show, until he turns out to be her ex (uh-oh) and then the camera-man assigned to follow her around and film her is too lust-worthy to try and pretend he’s not there. I loved getting an inside look at what goes on behind-the-scenes on a reality show…Ms. Thurmeier shows us exactly what ends up on the cutting room floor — forbidden romance, anyone? Yes, please!
5 stars and highly recommended — Heather Thurmeier’s contemporary romances are an auto-buy for me.

Finding Mr. Right
Still looking for you Mr. Right? Check out the Q&A on the Crimson Romance website for my tips on making your search a little easier!
Have you checked out Falling for You, yet? In it, Cassidy Quinn goes on a reality dating show in an attempt to meet her Mr. Right. There’s just one problem… her hunky cameraman is uber distracting… and forbidden…
Here’s a little excerpt from the very beginning of the book to get you tempted… started. I meant started.
As Cassidy glanced around the formal living room, the ball of lead in her stomach grew.
What have I done?
How on earth did she end up here in Denver, sitting in a mansion, surrounded by cameras and beautiful women—some of whom had obvious fake boobs and hair extensions? Of course, she knew how she’d ended up here and it had nothing to do with magic or any other Hollywood special effect.
Nope.
It had been her meddling little sister Keira who’d taken it upon herself to apply to be on a new reality dating show—using Cassidy’s name. To Cassidy’s horror, she’d actually been accepted. When she’d gotten the unexpected call from the show’s producer, she’d wanted to kill her sister. Instead, she’d been convinced to go through with the rest of the audition process and screen tests. By the time it was all over and she was asked to be on the show, Cassidy had grown used to the idea of having an opportunity to fall in love with some mystery bachelor.
Her friends told her to forget the show and take a cruise instead, where she could soak in the sun while “Margaritaville” played over the pool speakers. But did she listen?
Not a chance.
Maybe he’ll be the one. Cassidy searched the room for the bachelor of the show, her stomach twisting into a knot at the thought of being forced to date someone new. She hadn’t been with anyone since Brad chose to leave her and New York behind to go back to California to start pro-surfing again. Maybe coming on the show would force her out of her six-month dating hibernation. Or maybe she’d throw up on the bachelor’s shoes when she finally met him. Either was a definite possibility.
Coming on the show sounded like a good idea at the time. But now she was here— now it was real and not some thing she would do in the future someday. She casually wiped her palms across her thighs and prayed she wouldn’t have to shake anyone’s hand anytime soon.
Cassidy nervously scanned the room, checking out the other single girls who had also come on the show in the hopes of finding Mr. Right—or, at least, Mr. Right Now. They all appeared more confident than she felt, chatting and mingling with ease while she sat alone on the couch twisting a napkin between trembling fingers. Every hair color, eye color, height, and personal style was reflected.
She wondered how she would ever stand out in this crowd of glamorous women with her mousy brown hair and eyes the color of pistachio ice cream. No one even likes pistachio ice cream, nor wants to have any part of their body resemble it. She tugged at the hem of her plain white shirt, wishing she’d decided to wear something bright and bold instead. Maybe she should have taken a few more minutes in front of the mirror to touch up her makeup while she’d had the chance.

First Reviews for Falling for You!!
Hi everyone! Now that Falling for you is out in the world, the reviews are starting to trickle in! Check out this 5 star review from one of my advanced readers!!
Imagine finding yourself on a dating reality TV show and the Bachelor you’re supposed to fall in love with is the guy who trampled on your heart a few months ago. That’s exactly the situation Cassidy Quinn finds herself in.
Her sister generously submitted Cassidy’s name to the producers and Cassidy gets chosen to be on the show. After having her heart so recently trampled on, she’s looking for adventure not true love. That is until she turns around and finds herself falling into the deep blue eyes of one of the cameramen employed to follow their every move. Unfortunately fraternizing with the production crew is a big no-no.
Evan Burke looks at life through the camera lens, going from job to job having the odd fling as he goes. After seeing the pain his brother has experienced at the loss of his wife, Evan is determined to keep his heart locked away so he doesn’t suffer the same loss. What he didn’t expect to find his first day on the job was Cassidy – a woman who would end up testing his resolve to remain a carefree bachelor.
“Falling for You” is Heather Thurmeier’s first in a trilogy of reality show stories with Crimson Romance. It’s an enjoyable, well-written, fast paced read which has you laughing at Cassidy as she stumbles through the challenges presented to her on the show. Rolling your eyes at the catty Zoe as she tries to undermine Cassidy. Finally sighing at the sweet scenes that Evan and Cassidy share.
I highly recommend this book if you’re a fan of romance and reality shows.
