Ask an Author: Sandra Sookoo-Marking Time
I'm thrilled to welcome Sandra Sookoo to my blog today! I've only met Sandra online and I've only known her for a little while, but I have to say that she is definitely an inspiration to me. She has an impressive list of available titles! Before I start gushing more, let's just get on with the questions!
Where do you get your ideas?
I get my ideas from life. Everything around me–the out of doors, people watching, books, TV shows, overheard conversations, everything has the potential to kick start a story.
I guess that's true for most writers, isn't it? I wouldn't have believed that before, but it's true. Ideas happen everywhere. How do you find time to balance all the aspects needed to be an author? Writing, promoting, ideas, edits?
Sometimes it's very difficult. If I'm on a promo jag, I've found it's exhausting work and I probably won't write that week. When ideas come, I jot them down into a Word document so I don't forget, but won't give them life until I've had a chance to think on them a bit further.
I hear ya! I'm struggling with the balance of it all right now and man oh man is it a challenge! You seem to be able to do it all! You write in many different genres and many different lengths. Which is your favorite to write? What length is your favorite to write?
Historical romance is my favorite to write. My favorite length? Probably 30-50K. Sometimes if I do paranormal the sweet spot is 20-30K.
How do you come up with titles?
LOL that's more difficult. It's actually the most difficult part for me. Sometimes my husband come up with the good ones. Sometimes the publisher has to help me out. On rare occasions, I'll have that title before I even begin work.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who can be title-challenged at times! And last but not least, the most important question of them all and one I hand-picked just for you… If you could be any Disney character, who would you be and why?
Awesome! Hmm, which character would I be? It would have to Alice or Mary Poppins. Alice because she went on amazing adventures through a fantasy land and Mary Poppins because she's magical and very, very organized LOL. Thanks for having me on your blog!
Thank you for being here, Sandra! I hope everyone will take a peek at your newest book, Marking Time and I highly suggest checking out her back list of titles as well! You won't be disappointed!!

Sometimes the destination is not as important as the journey.
Ava Lesarris has her life figured out. She has a great job, has accepted her latent wolf shifter identity and is looking forward to climbing the corporate ladder. When a faulty GPS unit leads her to a town called Strange Hollow, she's in a quandary, even more so when she's suddenly transported back to the year 1900.
Sam Tremaine is the last of his kind. He's a phoenix, living in Strange Hollow during what should have been its greatest time–the founding year, but he can't enjoy it. He's dying, which leaves him with one regret. He's never found a woman whose spirit is as strong as his own. He wants be remembered but time is running out, not to mention he hasn't been able to get "it" up for months.

Six Sentence Sunday 9/18
Welcome back to anther fantastic Sunday! Be sure to check out all the other awesome writers participating this week by clicking HERE!
This week you're getting a little more from LOVE AND LATTES. Chase is getting increasingly frustrated with his Julia situation.
Chase wove his way through the rows of books and ducked into the self-help room on his way to new releases. He kicked a book lying in the middle of the aisle and bent to pick it up before flipping the book cover side up in his hands. Banging in the Backroom: Tales of Workplace Romance Gone wrong. Oh, hell. Even the merchandise was on his case.
Time to move on to the next girl, like always.
And the Winner is…
I can't believe that it's been a week already since LOVE AND LATTES came out into the world. I just want to say a quick thank you to everyone who's helped me celebrate this dream coming true by coming to my site, leaving comments, buying my book and reading it. You are all awesome!!
Putting a book out into the world is a lot scarier than I thought it would be! Every time someone I know buys the book and tells me, I cross my fingers and hope that they like it. And then I worry about them reading the love scenes I wrote. And I worry about… Well, the list of worries goes on and on. But, I'm happy to report that the response back from people who've finished the book has been so positive! Yeah!!
If you haven't had a chance to check out LOVE AND LATTES yet, you can buy it by clicking on the links below!

Love Beyond Time Blurb:
Born one half of a perfect pair, Kal has spent his life believing his other half is gone. But when fate thrusts Isabelle into his arms, he will have no choice but to become the man he was destined to be. That is, if he can battle his own demons first.
Not willing to accept her heritage as an Outsider, Isabelle tries to hide from the truth. But when Kal's life is on the line, she will have to step forward and embrace her powers or watch everything she has come to love disappear.
Excerpt:
Isabelle Listora stood in front of the creepiest cabin she had ever seen. It didn't look deserted, not really, but it didn't look lived in either. It hadn't been occupied for at least several days, she was sure about that. The door hung open and it looked like the local wildlife had taken what was left of the food from the cupboards. At the very least, Isabelle was relatively sure that she wasn't going to be finding any neglected children occupying the cabin today. If they were there—and her instincts told her they were not—then they were well hidden and not likely to come out just because she asked.
Everything about what had happened since she had woken up this morning had seemed so bizarre to her. Why was she being sent out into the woods to investigate child abuse? Where was the local agency and why were they not looking into what was happening? She had, in fact, asked her boss those same questions several times before heading off into the middle of nowhere, driving four hours from home to an unknown destination where she would have no police help or known local resources to call upon in case of an emergency. Once again, inwardly, she groaned at the absurdity of the whole thing.
On Amazon!!
It's true! My book is on Amazon! SQUEE! How did this happen? Am I fainting? I feel lightheaded…
