LOVE AND LATTES–The Movie

I've been doing a lot of guest posts and interviews lately and one of the questions that often comes up is who would I pick to play the leading roles if the book was to become a movie? Good question! The first time I was asked this, it took a lot of thinking and a long time to figure out. I'm terrible with names. All names. Even celebrities. So coming up with a leading man and a leading lady to depict my hero and heroine was challenging and involved a lot of research searching google images for pictures. A. Lot. Of. Research. ;) Here's who I decided would play the roles in Love and Lattes:

Chase Bloom would be played by Ben Affleck. He's just the right amount of clean cut cutie. And every time I look at him I can't help but think of him and Liv Tyler in Armageddon. That scene with him making voices for the animal crackers across her belly while they lay in a field somewhere thinking they may never see each other again… Gets me every time… Gah, now I have to go see if that scene is on youtube! Have I mentioned how much I love that movie? I do. It's one of my all time favorites.

It is on Youtube! Look at that…

Oh, I found a picture collage!

Julia Walker would be played by Evangeline Lilly. She gorgeous and I totally loved her in LOST. I think she'd be an awesome Julia.

Endings and New Beginnings

Last week I finished the first draft of my very first paranormal romance novel. Woot! I started it back around April and planned to write it before the end of the school year. Then during summer. Then once the kids got back to school… See a pattern here? It seems every time I would write a few thousand words, something would happen to pull me away from it again. Finally last week I put everything else aside and just wrote. And wrote. And wrote. 17K later (holy moly!) I wrote The End. Whew. I'm so glad that's done. There's just something so satisfying about writing The End even though I know the book itself is still far from finished. I'm setting it aside for a while and giving myself a little distance from it. Then I'll go back and read it, make changes as needed along the way, and then ship it off to my beta-readers and my critique partner. After another pass to clean up their notes, then it will actually be finished. Hopefully.

While that one simmers on the back burner for a while I'm starting on a new project. I'm excited to keep my new found momentum going and I don't want to let too many days go without writing new words. This one will be a novella. I'm pegging it to be A Meadow Ridge Romance book 3, but we'll see what happens with it once I figure out the story and actually write it.

I'm off to outline and start writing!

Six Sentence Sunday 12/4

It's that time of the week again. Find all the other participating authors HERE.

This week you get another little snippet from Nate and Amelia in BUNNY HILLS AND BIKINIS. This at the tail end of their first date, but the night is so…not…over…

Nate put his hand around her waist and Amelia leaned into him, enjoying the feeling of his body heat next to her. Then, his hand left her waist, trailing down to her bottom. She was caught off guard and suddenly self-conscious of him touching her there while she walked.

What if he thinks my ass jiggles too much? I should've done more squats. Or any squats, ever.

For the month of December, you can get BUNNY HILLS AND BIKINIS for only 99 cents!

December SALE!!

To celebrate the holidays, I decided to put BUNNY HILLS AND BIKINIS on sale for the whole month!! Now you can GET it or GIVE it for only $0.99!! A great deal for a full-length novel. If you're looking for something fun and flirty to read over your cup of hot cocoa this winter season, now's the time to give it a try.

BUNNY HILLS AND BIKINIS also got a little blurb makeover. What do you think of the new, shorter blurb?

Sunny California? Not so much. Amelia's stuck at the office retreat in frickin' Lake Tahoe with a grabby colleague who thinks he's God's gift to women.

At least the workshop presenter is super hot… if only she can get him to take her from the bunny hill to the bedroom.

Can't wait another minute to get your hands on Nate and Amelia? Click on the links below!

Book Withdrawal!

I've got the shakes! I can barely think straight. My mind is spinning with thoughts of the books I just can't get out of my head… *happy sigh*

A few weeks ago I read an article over at SMART BITCHES TRASHY BOOKS (click that to read the post) and it changed me. Someone had written in asking what to read next after they finished the Fever series by Karen Marie Moning. They needed a rebound book since these books had been so good. She said she needed something to fill the void of "life after Barrons." A few commenter also said they'd read that book and had trouble getting over it when they reached the end.

So what did I do?

I looked up the books, order the sample of the first one on my kindle, and started reading. I mean really, what's the big deal with these books? Who's this Barrons character? He can't be that great… I'm sure they're all hype…

I resurfaced for air again last night…at the end of the final book.

I just finished reading the best book series I've read in a long time. Seriously, so good. It's all I've been thinking about for the last few weeks as I read not one or two, but FIVE books! I devoured them. I thought about the characters constantly. I complained (loudly) to my husband and twitter about how much I hated the author of not giving me what I wanted! (Seriously! Write what *I want* to happen lady! Don't listen to your characters!) Then I cheered and praised and loved the author when I'd read a little further.

And now I'm suffering book withdrawal because I've reached the end. *sad sigh* I feel a little lost. I was on a roller coaster for three weeks and now I'm off, but the ground still feels like it's moving beneath my feet. I want to go on another ride, but will compare? What will give me a thrill that will be as big or better than the last?

Have you ever read a book or series that gave you book withdrawal? What did you do to counter it? Was the whole story that did it to you or just the characters? Or was it just the hero?

I've had this happen a few times before where I read something that is so, so good that I can't imagine another thing comparing to it. So I switch genres and read something completely different until I'm over the worst of the withdrawal. I guess I should go figure out what to read next.

Or maybe I'll head back to Smart Bitches again and see what other books/series those commenters said effected them this way…

Six Sentence Sunday 11/27

Happy Sunday to all! Check out the other awesome authors playing this week by CLICKING HERE!

Today I give you more from BUNNY HILLS AND BIKINIS. This is the start of the steamy hot tub scene…one of my favorite parts of the book!

Just as his thoughts wandered into new territory, exploring every inch of her with his mind, her fingertips caressed his thigh under the water. Her touch instantly brought him out of his own thoughts and into the moment. Her fingers playing on his flesh was unexpected but so welcomed. Without thinking, he bent his head down, kissing the side of her neck. He inhaled her scent, a mixture of flowers and something else that reminded him of fresh pastries—vanilla maybe. He found the scent even more intoxicating than her bikini.

Six Sentence Sunday 11/20

Another Sunday, another snippet! Check out the other authors by clicking HERE!

Today I offer you another snippet from BUNNY HILLS AND BIKINIS. The plot thickens.

"Welcome to the Evergreen Lodge and your weekend workshop retreat." The man's voice slid out of the overhead speaker and into the room, smooth like honey and so warm she wanted to cover herself in it. The kind of voice that had a habit of making her insides melt just like the voice in the lobby had when she'd checked-in earlier.

Oh no, it can't be the same guy.

Amelia raised her eyes from the papers in front of her and was overcome by the sudden desire to faint or melt into a puddle of hormonal goo or both. It was him—the hot guy from the elevator.
