KILL WHITEY Movie

We need your help again. But this time we’re not asking you for money. We’re asking you to click “Like”.

Seriously, that’s all you have to do. While the film adaptation of Dark Hollow is entangled in studio suit nonsense, Director Paul Campion (never one to sit around on his laurels) is prepping the film adaptation of Kill Whitey. He’d like each of you to CLICK THIS LINK and then click “Like” (which you’ll find to the right of that screen).

That’s it. Pretty easy. Thanks in advance.

If you’ve never read Kill Whitey, it’s available in paperback, Kindle, Nook, and Kobo.

THE CAGE and IN THE DARK updates

Some new incentives have been added to the Kickstarter campaign for THE CAGE, including a package that gets you the poster, t-shirt, and DVD for one low price. If you’ve already pledged and you’d like to upgrade to one of the new incentives, we can easily accommodate you. Kickstarter allows you to message us via the site. Let us know, and we’ll fix you up. If you haven’t pledged, why not? You won’t be charged until October 31st. By supporting this effort, you’re supporting all the future film adaptations of my work, as well as supporting indie film making. Even a dollar will help. CLICK HERE TO HELP US OUT AND GET YOURSELF SOME COOL STUFF IN THE PROCESS: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1...

Meanwhile, I’m very happy to report that the Kickstarter campaign for IN THE DARK has reached full funding. To celebrate and thank you, editor Rachel Deering has posted an update announcing a cool new addition to the project. And remember, even though it’s now fully-funded, you can still snag yourself a copy of this awesome horror comic anthology, sure to be a collector’s item. CLICK HERE TO CHECK IT OUT: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/t...

Next week, we’ll be moving on to the KILL WHITEY movie, the forthcoming Maelstrom set (only 8 days away from release), and more. This means I won’t be beating you over the head with THE CAGE Kickstarter updates. It is my sincere hope that you guys will keep the momentum going on it. It’s success or failure is in your hands. We hope you’ll choose the former.

Dear Goodreads

If you read and enjoyed my short novel, THE CAGE, or if you wish there were more film adaptations of my books, then please take a moment to consider donating to this Kickstarter campaign:

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1...

The amount is totally up to you. Even a single dollar will help us. And if you don't have a single dollar, at least help us spread the word by sharing the link with others.

Thanks!

Brian

DOLLAR BOMB

You know, of course, about the Kickstarter campaign for THE CAGE. We’ve got a ton of great incentives for those who back us. But today, we’d like to focus on something smaller. I have 8,400 followers on Twitter and 7,465 on Facebook. Imagine what would happen if each of those people simply donated one dollar! That’s what I’m asking you to do today. Not tomorrow. Not next week. Today. I know the economy sucks and money is tight. It is for me, too. But if each person reading this will take a few minutes and donate a single dollar today, it will have a HUGE impact on getting this film made. CLICK HERE TO PLEDGE A BUCK

Also, tune in to The Horror Society’s radio show tonight. I’ll be on the air, along with Zach Galligan and Damian Maffei. There’s a live call-in portion of the show, so we hope to hear from some of you.

KICKSTART THE CAGE

Absolutely, the most frequent question readers ask me is “Why aren’t there more movies based off your books?” So far, we’ve had Ghoul and The Ties That Bind. And while many of my other books and stories have been optioned, readers are often understandably frustrated with the esoteric Hollywood politics and bizarre delays that are all part of a film being “in development”. Readers often say, “I wish I could help get ________ made into a movie.

Now you can, with the Kickstarter campaign for the movie version of THE CAGE.

When I’ve asked my audience for things in the past, you’ve always come through. We raised money to help the family of Abdullah, the little boy with Congenital Pouch Colon and Kidney Disorder, pay for his surgeries. We donated thousands of books to U.S. troops serving overseas and at home. We enacted a successful boycott of Dorchester Publishing, forcing an end to their malfeasance.

Today, I’m asking you to contribute to THE CAGE Kickstarter campaign. The amount is entirely up to you. I know all-too-well how tough the economy is right now. But even if you can only donate one dollar, you’ll help us in our goal and get a neat little incentive. All contributions, no matter how small, are appreciated and will be rewarded.

Of course, the more you can give, the bigger the incentives and perks — movie posters, t-shirts, DVDs, signed books, dinner with me, a chance to appear in the film, get killed off in one of my books, or even have me give you a personally-guided two-day tour of the real life inspirations for some of my novels, including Dark Hollow, Ghoul, and Kill Whitey. For a complete list of all the incentives, check out the Kickstarter page. And you don’t have to wait until payday! Kickstarter doesn’t collect the money until the campaign ends 30 days from now! You can pledge now and pay later.

We’ve got a great team assembled on this film. Director Jon D. Wagner (Anniversary at Shallow Creek), screenwriter Ted Rypel (GONJI), Emmy-nominated FX-master Jeremy Selenfriend (Boardwalk Empire), and cast members including Zach Galligan (Gremlins), Damian Maffei (Christmas with the Dead), Hannah Fierman (V/H/S), Megan Duffy (Maniac), and Samantha Hahn (Return to Sleepaway Camp). For more on our team — or if you’ve ever wanted to see me torture a reader with a machete — watch the video on our Kickstarter page.

After you’ve watched the video and checked out the incentives, please contribute. Again, even a dollar will help. And please tell others about the campaign. Post the link to the Kickstarter campaign on your website, Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook, and your favorite message board.

Bottom Line: For this campaign to be successful, we need your help. You wish they’d turn more of my books into movies? Then help make that happen.

Thank you

THE CAGE – Cast Announced

I was going to wait until next Tuesday to announce this (because that’s when the other big announcement regarding THE CAGE is taking place) but The Hollywood News and Shock Til You Drop have got the scoop.

Zach Galligan (Gremlins) has been cast as Simon in the film adaptation of THE CAGE, joining Hannah Fierman (V/H/S), Megan Duffy (Maniac), Sam Ingraffia (Falcon & the Snowman), Damian Maffei (Christmas with the Dead), and Samantha Hahn (Return to Sleepaway Camp). Jon D. Wagner (Anniversary at Shallow Creek) will direct. Screenplay by Ted Rypel (GONJI). Emmy-nominated Jeremy Selenfriend (Boardwalk Empire) and Lisa Forst will be providing the FX. Brian James Fitzpatrick (Spring Breakers) is co-producing, and Scott Weinberg and Neil Olesen serve as Associate Producers.
