VLOG: Do Everything

I’ve talked before about feeling overwhelmed with all the things I’m doing and all the things I need to do and everything that’s going on all the time.

Right now I’m behind on my writing, I’m not vlogging every weekday like I should be, Vloganovel is sporadic and Garrett’s Games certainly doesn’t have the viewership I’d love for it to have.

And NONE of these things, nor all of them combined are providing my full income so I take editing jobs to finish paying the bills, and that time just eats even more into all my other time like my writing time and YouTube time and gaming time.

It can be frustrating because no one avenue is where I want it to be...yet.

LET’S PLAY: Dishonored, Part 1

This is the beginning of my playthrough of the game Dishonored, developed by Arkane Studios and published by Bethesda. This video consists of my first hour of gameplay.

(To be totally honest, I’m not blown away with it so far).

GAME REVIEW: Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, by Monolith Productions

Hello there, I’m indie author and vlogger Garrett Robinson and this is Garrett’s Games. Welcome to my review of Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, released this year by Monolith Productions.

First of all, a couple of things to know about me. I am the biggest Tolkien nerd I know. The Lord of the Rings is my favorite book. The Lord of the Rings movies are my favorite movies. I have read The Silmarillion, The Children of Hurin, The Book of Lost Tales and The Book of Unfinished Tales. If it’s Tolkien, I’ve probably read it. So I’m hardly able to be completely unbiased when it comes to Tolkien. As you will find out in this review, I enjoyed the crap out of this game. Will you enjoy it as much as I did if you don’t like Tolkien as much as I did? Perhaps not, but I do think you’ll enjoy the game regardless, and I’m going to make that case in the body of the review.

LET’S PLAY: Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor Completionist Run, Part 13

I’m doing a completionist run of Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor. “Completionist” just means I’m not only beating the game, but going for every single optional objective the game has to offer, as well. This is part 13 of the series, and the video player above will allow you to skip through to find previous episodes if you haven’t already.

In this final collection of three videos, I COMPLETE my completionist run! I have achieved EVERY objective in the game. I wish it wasn't done, honestly. Shadow of Mordor is a fantastically entertaining game, simply a blast to play. If you've been considering it, PICK IT UP. I can't say it any simpler than that.

PODCAST: We Make Movies Film Geeks Podcast #69

This week on the We Make Movies Film Geeks podcast, the topics ranged from Ferguson and the proliferation of cell phone video, to updates on upcoming Marvel movies. We also discussed We Make Movies' new Patreon page, which is how the group will be supported starting January 2015.

You can now support independent filmmakers in the community by contributing to the Patreon page, which will not only fund our weekly Wednesday events, but will eventually roll into a film production account that will enable We Make Movies filmmakers (including ME!) to make short films and eventually series and features.

VLOG: The Project for Awesome 2014 and MOAR UPDATES!

This year I'm participating in the Project for Awesome 2014, an awesome annual charity fundraising project founded and run by Hank and John Green of the vlogbrothers. I'll be helping my cousin Sheri Krumm's organization, Empower Tanzania. I hope you'll check that video out—it goes live on the 10th of December.
