Game of Thrones Season 5 Episode 1 Recap (Part 1)

Good morning Rebels, and welcome back to my life.

Well it’s finally here—Game of Thrones season has returned, and the first episode aired last night.

So I want to do two videos, today and tomorrow, and we’re gonna talk about what happened in the episode and anything we know about it from the books as opposed to only watching the show.

THAT RED COSTUME! Marvel’s Daredevil on Netflix

Good morning Rebels, and welcome back to my life.

So I finished Daredevil last night. Well, let’s be honest, it was night, but it was also this morning.

I don’t sleep much.

So yesterday’s “review in progress” certainly didn’t last very long, and now I can give you my complete review of the show.

Marvel’s Daredevil on Netflix: A Review in Progress

Good morning Rebels, and welcome back to my life.

If you’re a comic book nerd, like me, life is good these days.

Marvel’s cinematic universe is going strong, the second Avengers is only a few weeks away and we’ve got a slate of regular movie releases every few months for the next several years.

A Brand New Way to Make Movies

Good morning Rebels, and welcome back to my life.

If you’ve been around for a while, or if you’ve signed up for my free email list and read my introduction emails, you know I was an indie filmmaker before I ever started writing books.

But independent film is really, really hard to break into. Every time I wanted to direct my own film I always ran up against the same barrier: time, and money.

Vloganovel (Darkfire Part 15) Outlining a Book

Join me for another episode of VlogaNovel, as I live-write a book in a matter of days—and publish it, too!

I'm working on Darkfire, the third book in the Nightblade Volumes. The first book in the series, Nightblade, is a bestseller on Amazon in the fantasy genre. You can find Nightblade here: http://garrettbrobinson.com/nightblade

YouTube’s New Paid Subscription

HUGE news today, if you haven’t already heard: YouTube will soon roll out an optional paid subscription service. You’ll be able to pay a monthly fee and NEVER see another YouTube advertisement again. This could be really good for creators and audiences—but as always, a big change like this is a little bit scary. Please tell me your thoughts in the comments.

WRITER WEDNESDAYS: Ideas are not Stories

Good morning Rebels, and welcome back to my life.

Well, after doing Tolkien Tuesdays two weeks in a row now, I feel absolutely comfortable committing myself to another weekly scheduled thing.

Impulse control? What are you talking about? I don’t...I…*shrug*.

I actually had the idea for this one BEFORE Tolkien Tuesdays and it’s called Writer Wednesdays, and basically I want to talk about the art, the craft, the SCIENCE, of writing.

TOLKIEN TUESDAY: Tengwar, the Elvish Alphabet

Good morning Rebels, and welcome back to my life.

It’s Tolkien Tuesday, the day when we talk about Tolkien, the world of Middle-earth and any exciting happenings in the world of the Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit, and today I wanted to talk about one of the most important parts of the entire Tolkien mythology—the Elvish language.

Now the language itself is pretty esoteric and can be hard to learn, because Tolkien didn’t really write an explicit guide to it. He wrote a few general principles, like what languages it was based on and then several passages in the language itself, and left it for his readers to figure out.
