A Tree Fell On My House (No, Seriously)

Hello Rebel, and welcome back to my life.

Holy crap did last week suck.

So it started innocently enough. WELL enough, even, I would say. Monday was fine. Tuesday was fine.

I’m Having Trouble Reading

Hello Rebel, and welcome back to my life.

I am trying to read, and it turns out, it’s hard.

One of my most important personal goals in 2017 is to read more. I don’t read as much as I should, especially considering I write books. Have I mentioned that?

We Want What Our Parents Wanted

Hello Rebel, and welcome back to my life.

I feel like we want what our parents wanted.

That’s too general to apply to everybody in all places and times, but something just happened to me that made me think back on what I’ve seen as culturally important throughout my life.

A Synopsis of Rebel Yell

Hello Rebel, and welcome back to my life.

I’m going to wrap up the little video series we’ve been doing the last few Fridays, at least for now, by giving you a quick synopsis of my book Rebel Yell.

Rebel Yell is the only non-genre book I’ve written to date. It’s not fantasy or sci fi or thriller at all. It’s just a book.

It’s what’s generally classified as “literary fiction,” in that it deals with modern times and it’s more about the point of the story than a particularly gripping plot—although hopefully you do, you know, enjoy the story.

Why It’s Hard To Build A Career

Hello Rebel, and welcome back to my life.

I’ve been seeing a lot of people struggling to manage a career.

Why is it so hard? What in our lives makes it so difficult to find stability in our jobs?

A Synopsis of the Realm Keepers Series

Hello Rebel, and welcome back to my life.

Continuing our video series we’ve been doing the last few Fridays, I’m here to give a synopsis of another one of my book series, and today we’re gonna talk about the Realm Keepers series.

The Realm Keepers series was published in 2013 and 2014 and are the only books where I’ve had a co-author. They were written with my oldest friend and the guy who got me into indie publishing in the first place, Zach Bolger, who writes under the pen name of Z.C.

Critical Viewership and the Doctor Strange Film

Hello Rebel, and welcome back to my life.

So, I didn’t talk about this when it happened, because there’s always so much going on, but I saw Doctor Strange, and I wanted to talk to you about it a little bit.

I won’t give any major spoilers, but if you still haven’t seen it and you don’t want to know ANYTHING about it, you might want to steer clear.

Getting Serious About Having Fun

For some strange reason, I've been pretty good about work recently. I'm hitting deadlines, I'm producing things when I say I'm going to produce them, and I've stuck to my YouTube schedule (as you may have noticed). I've actually gotten serious about my work—while still having fun doing it.

What Donald Has Done to My Kids

Hello Rebel, and welcome back to my life.

It’s a little over a month now since the election, and I don’t know about you, but life’s been pretty different around here.

I’m a person in a place of immense privilege. I don’t have a regular job, I don’t have to worry about confrontations with bosses or coworkers, I don’t even have to worry about extended family if I don’t want to.

But I’ve been trying not to hide behind that privilege. I’ve been trying to be active online with my videos and my Medium articles protesting and speaking out against the horrible things Donald has done even before stepping into office.
