"All fear is fear of death in disguise — Deepak Chopra"
- I read this recently, and I can't decide if agree with Chopra. But from an author's perspective, I like the idea of submerging this deep in the subconscious of my characters.

Was Albert Einstein was wrong?
Was Uncle Al wrong when he theorized (special relativity) that nothing in the universe can travel faster than light? The folks working at OPERA (the Oscillation Project with Emulsion-tRacking Apparatus) seem to think so and have released data they think proves it. Over the past three years, OPERA scientists at Italy's Gran Sasso National Laboratory have been counting neutrinos (non-reacting, nearly massless particles) fired from the CERN particle physics laboratory in Switzerland.
On average, the neutrinos covered the 730-kilometer distance 60 nanoseconds faster than light would take to cover the same distance.
Of course, the critics are already crawling out of the woodwork speculating about flaws in the methodology used by OPERA. Time will tell who has the last laugh!

Americans Elect
Thomas Friedman's article "Make Way for the Radical Center" in the New York Times July 24th 2011 edition gave me hope, albeit only a glimmer. A movement is underway to launch a 3rd political party to challenge the chinese finger trap that are the Republican and Democratic parties.
Americans Elect is an online movement with the goal of putting a viable third party presidential ticket together — representing the interests of the majority of Americans whose social and political interests lie squarely IN THE MIDDLE — to challenge the special interest dominated status quo.
Americans Elect is taking crowd sourcing to the nomination process. As Americans, we've always been able to elect the President, but we've never truly been able to choose our candidate. Hopefully, that's about to change.
So go online, check it out, and take matters into our own hands. As of today AE has 1,755,707 signatures and counting…
