I have a secret. I can't tell it. But I'm writing...

I have a secret. I can't tell it. But I'm writing it with someone else, and it's very good.
AND, I wish I could freaking draw.
LOOK. I *can* draw. But I never have the time/space/lack of minions hanging on me to do it right. And unlike writing, which I bash out at a pretty respectable rate—then go back and clean up later—I loathe erasing sketches. And I need much more practice at drawing before I can feel comfortable with my first-drafts. I'm just not there yet, so it becomes a self-perpetuating cycle.
If there were some way to TYPE comics (besides stripgenerator, which I still love, btw), I'd be all over it. As it is, I sit and stare longingly at YouTube videos of people actually drawing their comics, scanning them into Photoshop, and coloring them. I can do that stuff! I know *how* to do all that stuff. I should practice so I can do that stuff!
But I type 90 wpm and it's far more gratifying to finish my writing than it is to spend two years drawing a graphic novel. Right now.
When/if all my kids are in school, then perhaps I'll have more time.
Or maybe I'll get crazy post-WDW vacay this year and come home and sketch up something nuts, and just experiment w/ digitizing it, just because.
Never say never.
But do say "not today," sometimes. I do, anyway. Not enough horas in the dia.

My darlings.

My darlings.
I have been pretending I do not have to work to get things done today. I have chosen chilling out instead of being overwrought angry Writer Mom. I have eaten Sunbutter, banana, and chocolate chip sandwiches on toast and pretended that's all the protein I need. I have prepared green iced tea (did you know they have Earl Grey Green now?) and pretended that was just as good as iced coffee for Mommy fuel.
Well, oh well, oh well.
Tomorrow morning starts the catching up and kicking ass phase of this week. Tonight we play some sort of electronic version of Simon that Tim picked up at Target yesterday, after we dine on healthy chicken tacos (homemade this time). Then I'm getting a good night's sleep in which I DO NOT have nightmares about The Walking Dead.
And tomorrow I have a date with the FUTURE, via Circle K, and maybe even a little troll…or derby. *shrug*
