Solo Travel for Boomers: The World Awaits in More Ways than You Think

This is Joe from Chicago. We shared a conversation about the Blues. What’s in the baggie? Porridge. That was his mainstay while hiking the circuit of Torres del Paine.


Traveling solo as a boomer is a wonderful experience.


It’s age-defying.


Be just a little intrepidand the world willtilt on its access to deliverexperiences you would never get traveling with someone else – never mind staying at home.


So I hope that you don’t consider solo travel a Plan B for when others are not prepared to go.

I have ahierarchy of safety for solo travel.



Your person
Your documents
Your money
Your stuff

In that order. That’s what’s important.


And even though money ranks number three in the list, it is still a big, BIG priority.


Managing your money, cash, credit and debit cards while on the road alone is a challenge that must be met with tactics that work for you. So, I’m going to give you lots of options here, starting...

Azaleation: The Just Misses of Travel

I had no word for it until now.


Thefeeling, a mourning, a lament for having missed the best of a place.


Or at least the frustration of being told that I’ve missed the best, feigning that I’m mourning the fact, while I am actually quiteenjoying what is in front of me to experience.
