Stopped in My Tracks on the Rocky Mountaineer

One of Western Canada’s many beautiful scenes.
I am embarrassed to say that I have seen relatively little of my own country.
Partly due to the fact that it is so large, partly because it is so expensive to travel around it, and partly because it is home and other places just seem more exotic. Increasingly, though, as I have been traveling to other cou...

Solo Travel: Knowledge and Tools for Safety
This is a Paid Endorsement. All opinions are my own.
The Security Section of the RoamRight app points to various security issues including strikes.I testedout theapp for Chileandlearnedthat there was a nationwide strike on September 4th with 1,100 expected to protest in Santiago. There was nothing serious to look out for in the future.
It seems that, for most of us, our knowledge of the world is skewed.
When asked questions about world trends on such issues as poverty, education levels and other...

Today’s quote comes from Indian writer and professor, Anita Desai. I know that what she says is absolutely true for me. In terms of both very practical things such as learning to make a traditional dish or incorporating a culinary tradition into my life, and less obvious, but more en...
