Twitter for writers

As anyone who follows me on Twitter (under the spectacularly-misleading-but-optimistic-at-the-time name Thriftygal) will know, I am a huge fan of the social media site. Frankly, you can't shut me up. I also follow a lot of other writers and have seen the mistakes that even the most established writers make (I once stopped following one of my all-time favourite writers because all he did was tweet quotes from his own books. All of which I had read, so not much point in that...) As part of my attempt to not go crazy from working by myself all of the time, I have joined the great new online community at Byte the Book, a site about digital publishing, which also holds regular meet-ups.
