One of the main issues with being a writer is it can be a lonely job: so I was delighted when fellow author Caroline Green invited me to join the Strictly Writing online collective, and I'm looking forward to sharing tales of triumph and tribulations with the other writers involved.

As anyone who follows me on Twitter (under the spectacularly-misleading-but-optimistic-at-the-time name Thriftygal) will know, I am a huge fan of the social media site. Frankly, you can't shut me up. I also follow a lot of other writers and have seen the mistakes that even the most established writers make (I once stopped following one of my all-time favourite writers because all he did was tweet quotes from his own books. All of which I had read, so not much point in that...) So with that in mind, I did this short but hopefully useful blogpost on Twitter for writers: do see what you think and let me know how YOU use the site.
