Networking at Byte the Book

Byte the Book is a new 'digital literary soiree' - but can it get me past my fear of networking?

Guest post at A Daydreamer's Thoughts

Faye at a Daydreamer's Thoughts was kind enough to host a guest post for me, bout my love of the 80s classic The Lost Boys.

Guest post: Is a Bad Review ever a good thing?

Any author knows how upsetting it can be to get a bad review - but can that ever be a good thing?

I debated the issue over at Literary R&R:

On sock puppetry and fake reviews

It goes without saying that I think it's disgraceful to pose as a reader and write fake reviews (and even worse to trash your rivals) but I also wonder where the hell these authors find the time...

Dark Dates is a charm!

One of the things I am passionate about is supporting other creators, and this year one f my resolutions was to buy more goods from independent crafters. I also love personalised things: to celebrate the publication of Dark Dates, I ordered a bespoke necklace from UK jewellery maker Nanuk Jewellery: to celebrate finishing the first draft of the sequel, I asked my friend Jo at Stella My Star to do one of her bespoke charm bracelets. I *love* the result - what do you think?

Author interview at Jaffa Reads Too

I was delighted to get an email from Jo at Jaffa Reads Too telling me how much she enjoyed my book and that she was keen to do an interview - so of course I was happy to oblige!

Thanks for the opportunity, Jo!

Getting by with a little help from your friends

Indie publishing is a tough gig: but luckily if you get a team of people behind you, it doesn't have to be lonely. Here's my piece on The Bunny's Review on why it takes a village...

Dark Dates on the radio

This is a time sensitive link, I think, but I was interviewed by Zoe Cunningham on Zone One Radio (London) the other day so here's the interview. You get to hear what one of my friends has called my 'telephone voice'!
