New Video Class: Drupal Advanced Views
Views is one of the most important modules in Drupal 7.
Views allows you to build sophisticated database queries without touching any code.
Views enables a site builder to create landing pages, blocks, attachments and more to present their content in a wide variety of ways.
We already have a Beginner's Guide to Views. In this week's video class, "Advanced Views", our newest Drupal trainer, Robert Ring, demonstrates a number of interesting ways to further enhance Views.

OSMeta: The Easiest Way to Add Metadata to Joomla
OSMeta is the easiest way to add metadata to Joomla.
There is a free version of OSMeta that works perfectly with the Joomla core.
We've also released a Pro version of OSMeta with support for K2. This was by the most popular request from current users of OSMeta.

A Beginners Guide to the Drupal Services Module
The Services module allows you to provide web services from your Drupal site.
Services is really popular and works with formats such as REST, XMLRPC, JSON and SOAP.
However, when asked about Services during a training class last week, I was realized that the students were asking me because there was little-to-no clear documentation available.
So, I sat down and decided to write a Beginners guide to the Services module.
Here's a 5-step guide to using Services creating a REST API for your Drupal site.

Beautiful Versions of the WordPress, Drupal and Joomla Logos
Earlier this year we wrote about some really interesting uses of the Drupal logo.
Most of those logos were funny. Some were bizarre. This week, I had talked with someone who's making logos look beautiful.
Howard Perlman is based in Atlanta, near where OSTraining started. He makes gorgeous stained-glass versions of open source logos.
Here's my chat with Howard, together with photos of his work.

Drupal's Basic Cart Module: So Close, But ...
I wasn't sure whether to publish this review or not.
One of our members wanted a really simple shopping cart for Drupal. They found the Basic Cart module and asked me about it.
So, I set up and tested Basic Cart. Everything worked great, until the end when I realized there was no payment gateway. None. Basic Cart is a great little e-commerce store ... except it has no way to pay.

How to Use Slideshow CK for Joomla
Slideshow CK is one of the most popular slideshow modules in Joomla.
Slideshow CK supports images and videos, is fully responsive and is really easy to use. Oh, and it's completely free.
So when our members ask us for a slideshow extension, we often recommend CK Slideshow.
Here's our guide to getting started with CK Slideshow.

100% New Drupal 7 Beginner Class
Over the last 3 years, we've launched nearly 40 video classes on Drupal.
In that time, we've covered theming, site-building and almost all of the most important modules.
However, our first class from 2011 was "Drupal 7 Beginner", and that class was starting to show its age.
In the last 3 years, much has changed about Drupal 7. Some modules have been abandoned or are far less popular. Other modules have risen to become the best options for certain tasks.

3 Major Features in WordPress 4.1
It seems like only a few weeks ago that WordPress 4.0 shipped.
Well, the WordPress team are moving quickly, and version 4.1 is now due on December 10th.
Not surprisingly, given the short time-frame, there won't be many new features in 4.1. One major feature that won't make it is the new REST API.
However, 4.1 does have one nice writing feature, a very cool internationalization improvement, and the new Twenty Fifteen Theme.
