The New Beginnings
MUMBAI SERIES : CHAPTER III
You and I , in this beautiful world?
[image error]YOU , I AND MY DREAM
The Vetal- Offshoot of My Novel
A Story of Betrayal, Horror, and Revenge.
Read this short off-spin story of my novel for a spooky Halloween weekend.
An Intro:-
It is said that Halloween night is indeed magical, attracting the souls from other realms into one of the mortal beings for that particular night. Throughout the world, spooky incidents are reported on the eve of the 31st of October every year.
It was yet another chilly Halloween night in the relatively deserted town of Yorkshire, London and the big Banyan tree at the dead-end of the 5th block, looked especially eerie that day.
The dense cloud of fog around the tree was causing the light of decorative pumpkin lanterns put on in it to fade, giving the tree a very spooky appearance. The two boys who left the home on their bicycles with the utmost zeal to collect maximum trick-or-treat goodies were now standing spell bounded in front of the tree, they could not sway their eyes from it.

MY HALLOWEEN READS FOR THE SEASON !
The October in itself is a magical month; not only because it serves a transition from summers to winter via beautiful fall but also because it the start of ‘Tis Season’ in many countries. While in India we have the season of our festivals starting with the Navratri’s and soon Diwali, in the West it is to start of festival season starting with the ‘Season of the Witch’ that season of the Halloween; falling on 31st October every year.
Halloween has been a personal favourite of mine too, surpassing even festivals like Diwali and Christmas, thanks to my interest in the occult. But even those who like to keep their distance from the paranormal, enjoy a good read of horror or two, or a spooky Halloween /slasher flick to mark this season of Halloween.
But this something strange happened, that welcomed horror back in its full glory, evident in the fact that most bestsellers of 2020- were of Horror, Thriller or Sci-Fi/Fantasy genre. And you guessed it right, this propelling was caused by the tumults time and uncertainty caused by Pandemic. So without ado let me share the list of ‘Top 5 Horror Novels’ to read this Halloween Season.
The Hollow Places by T. KingfisherA recent divorcée, penniless and depressed, moves in with her uncle only to find a portal to nightmare-inducing realities. The Hollow Places is a character-driven and combines a rom-com setup with genuine horror for a tale that is as unexpected as it is creepy. Certain Dark Things by Moreno-Garcia A new novella blending the haunted house trope with Japanese folklore. an oasis in a sea of vampires. Domingo, a lonely garbage-collecting street kid, is just trying to survive its heavily policed streets when a jaded vampire on the run swoops into his life. Ring Shout by P. Djèlí Clark A supernatural horror that follows three Black women—a sharpshooter, a soldier, and a master swordswoman with the ability to talk to spirits—as they hunt down Ku Kluxes.

The Journey
A tale of two cities….
A city where three-four flats are cramped in so called floors of societies hardly at a distance of 1 meter but the hearts distant apart Doors always shut and people busy in their tiny world and even tinier flats.
Another city miles apart where huge kothis spread in acres connected by adjacent roofs and janglas(pillars) or common verandahs. Everybody interested in one another’s life nobody wanting to mind their business.
Each city comes with a different set of perks and cons. But…old habits die harder and some flavours never leave your palate
