Social Media Couples !

I see couples on Instagram writing lengthy quotations for each other, appreciating how their partner is not perfect & yet perfect for them.

I read long caption stories how love made their imperfect, flawed partnership just ‘purrrfect!’ (for the effect) & flawless for them.

But these Couples I know, these Quotes I read are all of love marriages.

Is it then really true then? ‘Love marriages’ have more chances of working out than an arrange marriage these days?

Because this doesn’t happens in arrange marriages these days !

These days when no one wants to take ‘shit’ from anyone. These days when, everything is about self first.

These days they dont talk about arrange mariage Couples trying their best to love each other, but failing miserably at every alternate moment and yet not willing to give up on each other.

Mid-Week Musing!

I can go on and on about the dictomy of this picture , the apartheid history , the class divide and hence the juxtaposition of this imagery. But after giving it much thought, I came to the conclusion that sometimes simple is more impactful than agenda. So I would just rest my case as…. Teach kindness, Practice Kindness….. It will reflect someday ….. somewhere

Musing of the day

Wo daur alag tha
Jab premi lada karte the….
Wo ek dusre ko ilzaam Diya Karte …aur phir bada Dil ek duje ko maaf Kia karte the

ranjisheinon mein bhi wo sath chala karte, jo ek dur jaaye toh duja rok lia karta

Par adhunikata ke iss daur mein, rishton mein saralta kuch yun aam ho gayi, ab Teri meri baatein bhi ‘ Kaisi ho se shuru hoker, bas Mai bhi theek’ par smapt ho gayi !

Lost Stolen Spring

Yesterday I observed a curious case of theft. The realisation of nature of this absurd theft was so heavy to bear that it took me some time to absorb the same. When I finally gave this a thought though, it struck me that it wasn’t new; the theft or should I say robbery?

We will ( or may not) conclude at a final word for above towards the end but for now let me point out such thefts are often observed in plush areas of metros; often best observed in those high maintenance manicured lawns. Where you would see children baby sitting the other children, opps ‘overseeing’ other children or ‘fur-babies’.

In that very moment when you would see these children, who are still at the very pinnacle of their childhood, full of effervescence that defines youth, sacrifice it and forced to act as a matured caregiver;you would see their childhood is lost, no snatched!

If you would further observe carefully, you would be able to exactly pinpoint instances like above where their childhood is stolen. It can be observed when they will be enjoying a swing but will have to reluctantly offer it to the cranky baby they brought to the park to baby sit, you can notice it in the stolen glances these children will have at the cartoon show running on the TV while they are feeding a baby and you would see it’s gone when they would be yelled at for a silly mistake but will be asked to get back to work like ‘adults’.

Youth or childhood is often put on a pedestal by poets and writers, often describing the former as the best phase of one’s life. They would always equate things of beauty to eulogise youth; golden, string, fountain etc.

Yes, poems and proses often paint a rosy picture for they are meant to make us escape from the harsh realities to the realm of fantasies.Little do poems care about the fact that most children through out the world bullying or child abuse at this tender age, tarnishing for them their ‘Golden days’ forever.

Like I said the poems and those songs and fables, they operate on idealism and in an ideal world there should be no unhappy child.’Ideal’ however is subjective, for example, how do you ignore the plight of such children who are ‘ideally’ planned as an ‘extra hand’ to help family, for them an ideal scenario invokes their childhood to be sacrificed, no better yet, stolen.

I could even use harsher words like robbed or arsoned for the effect, the list is endless.Pardon me, for this is not so rosy but a rather bleak prose because to bring out the plight of such children I would rather shout with my pen and use drastic words that create dramatic effects and tug the chords of hearts of my readers.

So tomorrow, when you read those prose that euphamise the plight of such children with waterdown words like ‘ lost spring’ or ‘paradise lost’, know that it is a childhood that’s stolen, a spring snatched, a child robbed or a youth arsoned.

What all is wrong with Bollywood and this movie called ‘Animal’

My 2 cents on this so called blockbuster ‘Animal’ and Bollywood lately.

Before I go into my view about the whole movie, it is important to briefly touch base with the entire moot debate whether or not cinema leaves an impression on the society.

A lot many actors have denied the statement that cinema actually has a profound impact on the society. To quote verbatim of a popular actor “Cinema at best affects your hairstyle / clothing and not your mind”

I however belong to the other side, those who believe that Cinema and society go hand in hand. What happens in the society is often mirrored in Cinema in name of inspiration and whatever transpires in cinema or for that matter media (including TV and advertisments) often in whatever capacity shapes or tries to shape the society.

A remember a lot of campaigns in the early 2000s that talked about load sharing (Ariel) or how is it okay to ‘run like a girl’ (Always). All of these campaigns where need of that time where in women had started to come as equals of men and it needed acceptance. These ad campaigns did a great job in actually normalizing or validating such sentiments in society

But it seems of-lately we have returned to the 80s and 90s. Instead of going progressive we are going regressive Gone are the men who displayedattractive virtues of sensitivity, load sharing, and a sense of humour .What’s left is the toxic shell of a
man who can’t in his primitivecaveman brain think beyond the needof violence and fighting for thesurvival of his family and bring backfood. How archaic-ly modern ( slow claps 👏👏) ? Or is media just doing what it does? that is mirroring the society? In this case a fringe segment of society who thinks feminism is too gimmicky and it’s high time they reclaim their stature as higher beings ?

Coming back to the movie, I am not even getting into the fact that how absolutely devoid of logic and practicality the whole movie is because that is another level of slippery slop altogether. Even after giving movies a benefit of doubt that they are meant to create a releam outside of reality, this movie can’t be saved for it is wrong on so many levels.

There is a scene in the movie where Ranbir introduces Rashmika as her ‘Half’ to her father and not just ‘wife’, let’s just end it there that’s the only thing I liked in this movie.

Cape Town 🇿🇦

Atlantic ocean ke kinare basi ek ajeeb port city Cape Town.

Bade bade dockyards aur unchi unchi glass sky scrapers ke sath ye shehar pehli jhalak mein apko Vegas ya Dubai ki yaad dilaega par kareeb se jhankne par iske unche pahad, har kone se dikhta Tabletop mountain, har taraf faile Atlantic Mahasagar ka neela chamchamta pani aur wo pedon se ladi iski khubsart wadiya apko Europe jaise mantramugdha karne ka dam rakhti hai.

Pahad aur samudra ko sath lane wali hi kuch durlabh jagahon mein se ek ye Capetown ka mausam bhi iss shehar ke mijaz ki tarah vichitra hai jab aadhi duniya thand se kad kada rahi hoti hai toh yahan garmi hoti hai (Southern Hemisphere). Itna hi nahi yahan kab sunehari dopahar tez hawa ke jhonko wali sham mein tabdeel ho jaaye yahan kisi ko nhi pata

Yahan ke logon ko fitness se bada lagav chahe running ho ya trekking yahan aur unhi logon ko public smoking sur drinking se bhi utna hi lagav hai jo iss town ko kafi hippie aur beachy vibes deta hai. Na jaane yahan ke logon ke pass itna samay kaha se aata hai..jo subh 6 baje se uthkar bhi apni saari hobies ke liye samay nikal lete hai.  Dusri aor Shaam 5 baje ke baad Yahan koi kaam nahi karta aur weekend par toh yahan parinda bhi par nahi marta. Work aur work-life balance ka ye anotha Mishran pure vishwa mein sirf yahi dekhne ko milta hai

Anekon prakar ke khaane aur sainkdon bhashaien phir  apartheid se ubharne aur aage badne ki wo ek akeli rastriya chap jo in anek vividhitaon ko ek saath baandhe hai Sikke ke in do ek dum alag pehluon ko sath lekar chalte iss shehar ka nam hi Capetown hai.
