Dragon Shifters? Um... hell yes! Especially if it's Chace. The chemistry between him and Skylar is off the charts hot, and hilarious. I didn't think that I could get into a shifter story about dragons and yet I found myself sitting on the edge of my bed all night with my kindle in one hand and a fan in the other! I can't wait to start book #2! This is not a stand-alone, so be prepared to be absorbed by dragons for at least the next three days of your life... best three days EVER!

Welcome to Tour Stop #8! Today I'm super excited to showcase an author's work that my PA, Jeni is obsessed with! And because of her obsession with the amazing author, Lucian Barnes... I've become obsessed. His work is dark, detailed, and fabulous! I spent most of my youth in rural Ohio and began writing stories at an early age. Many of these early attempts at story-telling were inspired by mysteries, such as those found in the old Hardy Boys books and the cartoon antics of Scooby Doo. As I entered my teenage years I began to drift away from writing stories, instead picking up my pencil to compose lyrics for heavy metal songs because my new dream was to become a musician. That vision remained hopeful for many years after my high school graduation, but like most dreams of this nature it died out as I became older.

After working several menial jobs through the years that followed, my thoughts again began to turn toward writing books. Inspired by my favorite author, Stephen King, I took an online creative writing course and slowly began to develop my skills. In late 2010 I was given a violent shove, both by the job market (which was horrible to say the least, and still is) and by the persistent encouragement of close friends, to pick up my pen and begin writing again.

In early 2012, I gave birth (that's almost what it felt like) to my very first published book, Desolace. Finally having a completed novel in my hand was the best feeling in the world for me, giving me a sense of accomplishment I had waited a lifetime for. Since then it has gotten easier for me with each book I have published. Since the initial release of Desolace, I have published four more novels in the series. My latest work is the fifth book of the Desolace Series, Cemetery Hill.

After hearing my personal assistant Jeni rave about Lucian's work for the past 5 months, I picked up the first book in the Desolace series, Desolace. I'm halfway through and all I can say is... O... M...G... freaking epic!!! If you haven't started this series, start now. No, really... stop what you doing and start this series now!!!

Frank Mancini had suffered with his abusive mother for many years, until the day that he snapped. After telling his friend, Johnny, about the incident, his friend encouraged him to leave Misty Hollows. Taking his advice, Frank journeyed across the country to California hoping for a fresh start.
Shortly after his arrival, he met a beautiful woman. He was determined to hide his dark past from her, especially after finding out that she was a psychic, able to see both the past and the future of anyone she came into contact with. He managed to hide his secrets from her until several years after they'd gotten married and started a family. Fearing that she would turn him in to the police, he killed her. Not realizing that his son, George, witnessed this act, Frank decided to take him back to Misty Hollows.
How would the memory of his mother's death effect young George? Would he follow in his father's footsteps? Journey through the years, from infancy to adulthood, with George to see if he can resist the inner darkness!

A serial killer is loose in Misty Hollows, Ohio and Katie Johnson is sure that her friend Julie has been abducted by this madman. As she searches for her friend, Katie finds an unexpected ally in the ghost of one of the killers victims and soon finds herself transported to a completely foreign time and place. She only hopes that she can find Julie before it's too late.

Katie finds that the town of Haven is not what it seems as she continues her journey across the strange world of Desolace, searching for her friend, Julie. During her travels Katie makes new friends, but also makes a horrifying discovery. The creatures that she thought to exist only in myths and legends, while she grew up on Earth, are very real on this world! The only bright spot is a message that Katie receives from Julie, but the message is filled with a sense of urgency. Will she find Julie in time? Or will the darkness of this world consume Julie first, leaving only a useless husk of flesh behind?
As Edward and his makeshift group of adventurers descend the stairs leading underground from the Outpost, they find a strange object as well as Katie's friend, Julie. They watch in horror as Melissa disappears through this new portal, and decide to follow her. When they get to the other side, they find themselves in a post-apocalyptic world that resembles Earth. Will Edward be able to lead the group back to Desolace to continue their battle with the Black Knight? Or will they be stuck in this new Hell, fighting just to stay alive?
Upon their return from the post-apocalyptic realm of future Earth, Edward and the remaining members of his group destroy the portal to keep a never-ending flood of zombies from wreaking havoc on Desolace. They are reunited with their ghostly friend, Amber, but have no weapons or supplies and are forced to return to the town of Loknar to seek help. After enlisting the aid of the town guard, and their new friend, Jasper, Edward leads the group toward his home town, the city of Elysia. 

When they arrive, Edward is saddened to see his once great city has been decimated. The lone surviving elder speaks to Edward of an incursion by the forces of darkness, which seems bent on completely destroying the largest city upon Desolace. Sending Edward and his faithful followers on a mission to the south, they soon discover a small town, seemingly forgotten and uninhabited for a very long time. 

Was it the work of the Black Knight and his minions which has left the city streets littered with corpses? If so, will they be able to stop his madness before it consumes Elysia and everything Edward holds dear to his heart?
After a raging, intense battle with a large contingent of the Black Knight's minions, Edward and the remaining members of his group take shelter in an abandoned inn to lick their wounds. Formulating a plan to chase after the demonic creatures in order to eradicate the threat of a reoccurrence, Brian and Katie head off, leaving their werewolf companion to keep watch over their leader as he attempts to heal. 

Following the trail of the railroad tracks, they discover more than they were bargaining for; the retreating demons spring an ambush on the unsuspecting duo as they ascend toward the pinnacle of the mountain. Surviving the surprise attack and, for the time being, eliminating the immediate threat, Brian and Katie continue to climb. As they reach the termination point of the railroad tracks, they find themselves staring at the gaping entrance to a cave. 

Determination fueling them, they step through the opening, making sure there aren't more of the tiny demons regrouping inside. As they enter, a blood red veil of light falls over their vision. The expansive chamber is adorned with row upon row of enormous, wooden crosses, some of which have nude prisoners shackled to them. Could this be the place Julie had referred to as Cemetery Hill? If so, what were the odds of her still being alive? Would Katie find her best friend in this chamber of horror, or was she too late?

Since then it has gotten easier for me with each book I have published. Since the initial release of Desolace, I have published four more novels in the series. My latest work is the fifth book of the Desolace Series, Cemetery Hill.

After hearing my personal assistant Jeni rave about Lucian's work for the past 5 months, I picked up the first book in the Desolace series, Desolace. I'm halfway through and all I can say is... O... When they arrive, Edward is saddened to see his once great city has been decimated. The lone surviving elder speaks to Edward of an incursion by the forces of darkness, which seems bent on completely destroying the largest city upon Desolace. Sending Edward and his faithful followers on a mission to the south, they soon discover a small town, seemingly forgotten and uninhabited for a very long time. 

Was it the work of the Black Knight and his minions which has left the city streets littered with corpses? If so, will they be able to stop his madness before it consumes Elysia and everything Edward holds dear to his heart?
After a raging, intense battle with a large contingent of the Black Knight's minions, Edward and the remaining members of his group take shelter in an abandoned inn to lick their wounds. Formulating a plan to chase after the demonic creatures in order to eradicate the threat of a reoccurrence, Brian and Katie head off, leaving their werewolf companion to keep watch over their leader as he attempts to heal. 

Following the trail of the railroad tracks, they discover more than they were bargaining for; the retreating demons spring an ambush on the unsuspecting duo as they ascend toward the pinnacle of the mountain. Surviving the surprise attack and, for the time being, eliminating the immediate threat, Brian and Katie continue to climb. As they reach the termination point of the railroad tracks, they find themselves staring at the gaping entrance to a cave. 

Determination fueling them, they step through the opening, making sure there aren't more of the tiny demons regrouping inside. As they enter, a blood red veil of light falls over their vision. The expansive chamber is adorned with row upon row of enormous, wooden crosses, some of which have nude prisoners shackled to them. Could this be the place Julie had referred to as Cemetery Hill? If so, what were the odds of her still being alive? Would Katie find her best friend in this chamber of horror, or was she too late?

Cambria Hebert Cambria Hebert is the author of the young adult paranormal Heven and Hell series and the Death Escorts series. Cambria is one of my favorite NA Contemporary Romance and Paranormal authors. The first book I ever read of Cambria's was Recalled of her Death Escorts series. I'm a total paranormal junkie and this book definitely lived up to the hype. Since first reading Cambria's work, I have been a huge fan. Pick up any of her books and get lost in her worlds. Just an FYI, my favorite book by Cambria is Text. I have read that book three times!!

My Review of Fat Chances 5 Owls I really enjoyed Fat Chances! Normally, our main female characters are slim, fit, and unbeknownst to them, runway model gorgeous. Annie is not... at least not on the outside. A forced trip to a Zumba class is going to rock her world! To me, this book had a realistic quality that we should be instilling in our young ladies. You don't have to paint your face, starve, or be a Hollywood starlet to get the guy. Just be true to yourself, the way Annie was. She learned how to love herself, while being healthy, NOT anorexic. I loved the characters, and this world! Bravo J.S.!!

My Review of the House of Night novels by P.C. and Kristen Cast

I decided to do a general review of this series instead of each individual book. So, here we go!
Book 1 The House of Night series is set in a world very much like our own, except in 16-year-old Zoey Redbird's world, vampyres have always existed.  In this first book in the series, Zoey enters the House of Night, a school where, after having undergone the Change, she will train to become an adult vampire -- that is, if she makes it through the Change.  Not all of those who are chosen do.  It's tough to begin a new life, away from her parents and friends, and on top of that, Zoey finds she is no average fledgling.  She has been Marked as special by the vampyre Goddess, Nyx.  But she is not the only fledgling at the House of Night with special powers.  When she discovers that the leader of the Dark Daughters, the school's most elite club, is misusing her Goddess-given gifts, Zoey must look deep within herself for the courage to embrace her destiny--with a little help from her new vampyre friends.

My Review 4 OwlsThis series started out really strong and promising in the first book. I enjoyed Zoey Redbird's character along with new band of friends and enemies. The world the House of Night presented was fresh and alluring. However, after the fourth book the newness and novelty wore off. I couldn't handle Zoey's constant and absurd use of the word, bullpoopie. I mean, you're in a fight between good vs. evil, one that could end your life so many times over and you can't say, shit, fuck, and bitch? Aphrodite's character is what kept me reading. The books are well written and edited. It's obvious to me that P.C. and Kristen are talented authors, and with that they should've had Zoey's character grow a lot more than she did. Now for the plotline. There are sometimes that the things the Goddesses' chosen ones did were sort of unbelievable. That made it take forever for me to read, but I did. I don't like skipping over things in books. All in all, it's a great series for the 15 + crowd. I did enjoy the series and I will finish it with the last two books coming out this Summer and Fall, I need to know what happens. I just wish there had been a touch more character growth for the main character. The mother/daughter did a great job with the other characters growth, but we'll have to wait to see how they wrap this one up!
Coming July 29, 2014!! Coming October 14, 2014!! The 12th and final House of Night novel
In her blog, PC announced that there would be twelve books in the House of Night series. The final book will come out in 2014, and will focus on the children's battle with Neferet and the Dark red fledglings. Also she said in her live stream video chat that in the final books an epic battle between Light and Darkness is going to happen. She said that the old magick of the Isle of Skye is going to help Zoey to defeat Neferet once and for all.
