I’m an adrenaline junkie. The term usually conjures up people who choose exciting, high-risk careers or activities: policemen, firemen, EMT’s, sky divers and mountain climbers. In contrast, I am physically cautious, not very athletic and rather passive. But that’s the real-world me. The inner me thrives on excitement, adventure and intense emotion.

One bright March afternoon in 1992, I was leaving a school in a nearby town. I was waiting behind a line of vehicles at a stop sign, when BAM, a car slammed into the rear of my car. Luckily I was wearing my seat belt and wasn't thrown through the windshield. The force of the impact was so hard, my rear-view mirror flew off and the undercarriage of my station wagon was damaged.

I have to be alone to do this ... What?
I hate housework. There. I’ve admitted it. The one thing that makes cleaning at all tolerable is what I consider my secret weapon. I can employ this secret weapon only when I’m alone.

Decadent Devil’s Food

I love twist endings. It's who I am. What a fabulous surprise to discover a decadent chocolate cake that's actually good for you. That's right––a healthy cake––high in protein, no sugar, and get this: IT'S GLUTEN FREE. But the best part: It tastes amazing! This cake is so good, it would fool even the pickiest chocolate connoisseurs.

The idea of romantic tales and wanting to write about romance has always been with me. It was first given to me by my mother when I was young and it never left me. She was a born story teller and always looked for romantic stories to tell.

I think it's helpful to recognize career-sabotage behaviors. They are strong reactions, and we need to listen to what those reactions are telling us. Once conscious of what's driving the behavior, we can address the issue that underlies the behavior in a more productive way.
