Do You Remember This Cartoon: Seeta El 7noon
[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mSPwdB...]
Its been a while since I did a do you remember this cartoon post! I suddenly remembered this cartoon that I've seen in 1992 or 1993 maybe and I googled it. In Arabic it was called Seeta El7anoon -don't ask- but it turns out that its a Japanese anime movie called "Grave of the Fireflies". I've seen this movie twice maybe only. One of my cousins gathered me and the rest of my cousins one day in their living room and showed us the video, with a box of kleenex nearby. By they end we were all bowling uncontrollably, crying our eyes out! Its the 2nd hardest thing I've cried over. The first is Titanic and the third is Devdas :p
Do you remember watching this anime before? In Arabic as Seeta el7noon? Or if you watched it in Japanese or English? If you did how hard did you cry :p
P.S. Yes. You reminded me.
Shino '3adakom Elyoom?
Hello and welcome Thursday! I've missed you after the long weekend of last week! Are you still on vacation or did you go back to work on Tuesday? Where are you planning to have your Thursday lunch? In the office? On the plane? In Dubai Mall over looking the fountain or in some European cafe on the sidewalk while people watching?
Ever since I've heard about the new Mexican restaurant in town and I've been craving Mexican. A good hearty Mexican meals with home made nachos and tangy salsa with the best sizzling Fajita I've ever tasted

Modern Furniture Items in Midas
As I am looking for modern tableware and a new refrigerator we passed by the Life Center in Shuwaikh which houses both Eureka & Midas. I've posted about having found quite modern and distinguished pieces in Midas before and therefore I thought I might find myself something there. Sure enough I found plenty! The first thing I saw was this mirror which reminded me vaguely of some limited edition sought after mirror that I've seen somewhere but I cannot remember where.
This foot stool is beautifully retro!
Pop art table.
Pop art painting. There are a lot of pop art items available where you can decorate an entire room with it.
Those pillows look like Ralph Lauren pillows I've seen in London.
I almost bought those pillows in black and green. Might still go back for them.
This is a very nice and quirky flower vase.
Nice clock! Like something out of Alice in wonderland.
More fun tables.
I found my self a beautiful clear acrylic tray which I bought immediately and there were a lot of modern tableware but still not what I am looking for. Sadly the sales people yanenoone o ohom yamshoon waray while I am looking around o exchanged puzzled and troubled glances as I was taking pictures fa I just took the tray and left quickly. In any ways if you are looking for a quirky piece of furniture they have 70% sale on certain items and there are good pieces to be bought.
Movie Review: The Vow
Rated in the top ten movies currently running in the USA is The Vow. Based on a true story, a newly married couple get into a car accident which wipes the wife's memory and lets her not remember anything about her loving husband. Not even meeting him. In her eyes he is nothing but a stranger she is supposed to go home with.
The movie is very sweet. Chopped like shawerma in Kuwait especially when they say their vows which is what's the movie is all about anyways. I liked it a lot and enjoyed it but my husband fell asleep and started snoring b3d! Wakhezyah fashla!
It is not a male's movie at all. When I nudged the man and woke up he said the movie was slow -I thought it was sweet- and that it was too constant: sweet but you can't strongly feel the sorrow or the happiness or the love. I agree with that. The movie lacks intensity which would have made it a much much better movie. I enjoyed it yes but I'm not sure I am going to add it to my DVD collection though.
Oh and Channing Tatum should really invest his movie payment in fixing his teeth! A movie star acting in Hollywood should NOT have such horrible teeth especially when acting with Rachel McAdams flashing her perfect pearly whites.
Book Review: One Moment, One Morning by Sarah Rayner
What first pulled me towards this book is the book cover. So serene, sweet, and romantic. Actually I liked it so much I bought it more than once -I have two brand new copies in my bookcase!-. I wish I knew how to take pictures like that! I wanted my Dathra book cover to be something as beautiful too!
Why I didn't read it though is because the back covers says that one day five passengers were commuting in a train from Brighton to London when something happens that brings them together and changes their lives forever. Because of what I thought the story was, some events taking place at a train, I thought it was not a very easy read and it would take a lot of concentration to keep up with the story. Surpisingly the train part was over in the first few chapters and it was only to start off the story which takes place on the land like any other novel.
A warning though: this is an extreme tear jerker. Be prepared with a box of kleenex as you would be weeping into your pillow at night. You know when you are down and you feel like crying to cleanse your soul but you can't? Read this book and you will cry until your eyes are raw and there are no tears left in them.
Is it a good book? Yes it is, quite a good one actually. Despite the sadness entwined in its words you will thoroughly enjoy it and realize that, sometimes it takes a moment, one moment only, to change the life as you know it for good.
You can find the book at Amazon (link) or wait and buy my second copy from my next upcoming garage sale. Stay tuned

En Mexico Restaurant is Now Open
Dear Noon is one of two fellow bloggers who have almost identical taste buds as mine and I totally trust her taste of food. Yesterday she posted about something that made me ecstatic with happiness: a new Mexican restaurant has opened up in Jabriya. Its name is En Mexico.
I am going to try it very very VERY soon! The food looks scrumptious! The nachos in the picture above got my mouth watering! Its about time a good Mexican restaurant opened in Kuwait. We have enough Asian, please hebbaw bel Mexican! To read more about Noon's mouthwatering meal check out her post here (link).
Review: Cookies Delight
The other day I received a nice package from a new cookie business in town Called Cookies Delight. What intrigued me is that they offered new flavors of cookies like Red Velvet and Fererro Rochet. A box of freshly made cookies with a cup of skimmed milk is a treat that will sure lift your spirits up any time
I will leave you with the pictures first and then talk at the very end. Enjoy
Amazing moo? Tastes amazing too! The normal cookies have a slice of strawberry underneath the chocolate spread which was very different! The pink velvet was my favorite! Even though it didn't look as good as the others it was the best tasting one!
Highly recommended. To order your cookies from Cookies Delight you can check their facebook page (link) or give them a call on 55082483 and they will deliver your cookies for you.
Movie Review: The Awakening
I love horror movies, the one with a good haunting that is and not lots of blood and butchering. Therefore I was happy to go to The Awakening two nights ago. The movie is about a 1912 ghost hunter who doesn't believe in ghosts and has made it her life's mission to uncover ghost sighting hoaxes and expose the deception behind them.
Then one day she is offered the chance to check the myth of a dead boy in an old boarding school that keeps showing up for students and scaring them. She was a skeptic of course and went with the intention of exposing the truth. She does eventually uncover a truth that blows her mind away and turns her entire believe system upside down.
It is very good! Really really REALLY good as far as haunting horror movies go. A bit long, almost 2 hours, but then I did enjoy every moment of it and the ending is even better! If you like ghost and horror movies you have to see it, I guarantee you will like it. Definitely going to be part of my DVD collection in the future insha2 Allah.

Book Review: Room by Emma Donoghue
I had just put down a book I've been reading recently when my friend Wajd texted me recommending a book she had just red and couldn't put down. The title is "Room" she said. Since I bring back books by the ton and I have one book case after book case stuffed full of new novels, I headed over to my newly arranged book case and voila! There it was, Room! I grabbed it and started reading…
Jack is fives years old. He lives in a locked room with his Ma.
That sentence above is all that's written about the story in the cover. Interesting mo? The book was VERY interesting. So interesting in fact I finished it in two nights only, reading the delicious story narrated by little Jack. Little by little you get to understand what's happened and therefore each page pulls you towards the next, wanting more and more! I didn't want this book to end! I want 10 extra chapters. After I finished I was a little sad for leaving the world of Jack and his Ma. I want to know more
HIGHLY recommended. It is not a book to be missed. There is a prime location on my favorites book shelf waiting right there for it
Here is a link for the book from Amazon (link).
P.S. Wajd? THANK YOU :*
