Movie Review: This Means War

Recently all comedy style movies have been a disappointment. Usually all the best bits of the movie are shown in the trailer which is pretty much why I've stopped watching trailers all together. They should call them spoilers! Anyways when I've seen the trailer for This Means War in the movie theatre I thought to myself that it was going to be another one of those boring comedies. I wasn't that excited to watch it.

But we were bored and had nothing better to do last week -before finding Once Upon a Time that is- so we decided why not watch it? It turned out to be really good, quite hilarious actually! I haven't laughed so hard at a movie in so long and I am not the kind that can laugh at movies easily. It has to be really funny to draw a laugh out of me. We both loved the movie, however I hated the ending. I thought it was not fair but then ana shako its their lives o keifhom.

The movie is amazing though. I cannot wait for it to be out on DVD so I can proudly add it to my DVD collection. Amazing.

Oh and the British guy, the one from Inception who is one of the two spies? Good actor, amazingly handsome with pretty horrible teeth! You cannot go to Hollywood with such wretched teeth and act alongside American movie stars with their perfect Hollywood smiles! You lose your concentration in the movie trying to think of what could possibly stop a man who makes millions from visiting an orthodontist to fix his teeth!

What Do You Do With Food Leftovers from Your Order

Since I've practically lived in Ikea for the past few weeks I've been having lunch there. The restaurant is always very busy and they offer Arabic bread for free with the meals. One day I noticed that different diners pile their plates high with the "free" bread. Literally a mountain of bread. As they dine they will place it in the middle of the table, have a slice or two of "free" bread, then leave the table while discarding the plate still stacked high with perfectly fine bread which will find its way to the trash.

Ne3mat Allah! I don't know about you but I was taught that food is a blessing and that we should not be wasting food. We should order what we need to eat, we have minds and we have been living with our stomachs all our lives, we know exactly how much food we can consume! There is absolutely no need to go into a restaurant and order/get a huge amount of food then leave the table with the food barely touched and let it all go to waste.

What do you do with your food leftovers? I and my husband for ones would always try to order what we will be able to finish right away. If there are leftovers we always always ask for them for take away. The least we can do is to give it to a worker  or cleaner on the side of the road. Those poor souls are always starving and will be more than grateful to accept that food package with a smile b3d! So maybe you should consider that the next time you go and order too much food.

Book Review: Everything & Nothing by Araminta Hall

A family with two children is in need of a nanny to come in and take care of the kids. The nanny they end up with is the perfect one, as a matter of fact, she seems to be too perfect, simply she is too good to be true.

A very interesting book and easy read. I finished it in a relatively short time and was gripped with the story line. It is thrilling to say the least and the actions are fast paced. You don't have to wait forever for something to happen. What I didn't like however is the ending. It is good but it was too short. They could have added at least two more and very well deserved chapters especially after that kind of ending.

Its a keeper for sure. It has earned a space in my book shelf. You can get it from Amazon (link).

Once Upon a Time is AMAZING!

Forget PAN AM and Revenge, Once Upon a Time is a show to watch! I've been meaning to watch it but since it fluctuates between reality and fantasy I thought I would wait for a while until I am a bit free and can concentrate to follow the story properly. Guess what? I just did and I am so sorry I waited this long! It is so good, so original yet so interesting. So familiar yet intriguing. We are holed up, me and Bu Tootee, on our couch watching one episode after another and devouring the story up!

Highly HIGHLY recommended! Don't miss it! If you are looking for an awesome show  to watch then this is it.

Breakfast in Ayyame

One of my favorite breakfast places in Kuwait is currently Ayyame in The Village of Abu Al-Hasaniya. The place is quiet and the outside seating is very nice on a warm day with a breeze so a few weekends back we were there enjoying our Saturday morning.

If its too cold outside -or too hot- then inside is not so bad at all. The decor is lovely and very different indeed. I love their interior a lot!

The selection of dishes on the menu is big and delicious! Every time I'm there I try something new and I've never been disappointed yet. The pictures on the menu are tantalizing and mouthwatering on their own.

The last time we were there we ordered, of course, Kuwaiti style Chai o 7leeb -tea and milk infused with cardamom-. They bring you glasses and a pot and you just pour it, its already mixed and really good.

Falafel.

Fool.

Nakhi in a yummy sauce.

Bakes eggs with meat pieces. My husbands loved this dish.

And the star of the show: Cheeses & Zaatar Tabliya!

Yummy yummy breakfast and the prices are quite reasonable too. I can't wait to go there again. Highly recommended.

Picture of the Week: Roses

Roses, white ones in particular, are my favorite favorite flowers of all time. Classic, beautiful, romantic, and pure. There is nothing like a bouquet of creamy white roses grazing your favorite coffee table and emitting the most sensational scent ever

I adore white roses. What about you? What's your favorite flower?

If I Could Capture a Cloud

Whenever I see a big white fluffy cloud I have the strongest urge to reach out and grab a handful, squeeze and feel its softness. Ever since I've seen Heidi as a kid who has a dream of sleeping and jumping over the clouds I believed it was possible indeed therefore I dreamt about it too. I would give anything to be able to sleep over a cloud. To sink into the softest pillow on earth and let it move forwards and take you away, moving over the lands below and having the wind tossle your hair and touch your cheeks lightly.

Of course I know now that its not possible. You cannot touch clouds nor are they solid enough to hold your weight at all. Yet again whenever I see the clouds I cannot let go of my childhood fantasy. I love clouds.

Do you love clouds? What do you want to do with a cloud if you could capture it and get hold of it?

Movie Review: The Grey

The movie is on the top ten US movie chart. Stars Liam Neeson who, after his movie the Unknown, made me realize he might be one who chooses his movies carefully therefore I wanted to see The Grey.

A plane crash in the middle of icy conditions leaves a group of company workers trapped and fighting for their lives. Some of the scenes in this movie are bloody and grotesque. You are kept at the edge of your seat all right but you get so frustrated you want to hurl your new Cola bottles right at the things moving in the screen. The ending is interesting too, but its not something I would necessarily want to watch again or recommend to others. Not going to make it on my DVD rack for sure.

Good Saturday Morning…

Good morning! Its official, the last day of the long vacation is here. I can't say I am looking forwards to the next working week at all. Anyways we still have today right? What better way to spend today that with a good hearty breakfast? Waffles drenches with chocolate sauce and topped with bananas and strawberries for example?

Where can you find the best waffles in Kuwait? I don't seem to be able to find a decent restaurant that has good waffles that makes you not want to stop?
