Now available on Amazon Kindle…

Just an update, I’ve published both Cartel Series books to the Amazon Kindle Bookstore. (YAY!) Both books have also been approved for premium distribution from Smashwords, and should also be showing up at Barnes and Noble, The iBookstore, etc. in the next two weeks. Red tape, gotta love it, right?

To all that have left wonderful reviews, thank you so much. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, ten words from you can change my world, so please keep those reviews coming.

(And I’m not above begging, so *pretty please with a cherry-bomb on top* put in a good word on Amazon for me. If you’re an Amazon customer already, it doesn’t cost anything but a few seconds of your time to leave a review there. Thanks so much!)

We have lift off (update on previous ‘I may have spoken too soon…’ post)

Update on this post: For anyone still waiting to download the book  - it’s debugged. I hope you enjoy!

————————————

Ugh! I may have spoken too soon… Somewhere between my computer and smashwords publishing there is a glitch. Sorry if you’ve gotten a corrupted download. (although, it could be user error. After all, my ‘friend’ did send out the coupon code using the wrong email account. oops – haha) My document, with all the cheaters showing, indicates no errors. Ne extra lines, paragraphs, spaces, etc.

Regardless, I will be reformatting tonight, and hopefully uploading a new and improved document by morning.

I don’t like it – SO YOU CAN’T EITHER.

My Stand on the whole issue in the self publishing world between PayPal, Smashwords, and Erotica Authors :

Just because I don’t like the  - lawful, but morally degrading – content of someone else’s work, doesn’t mean I have the right to tell them not to write it, or you not to read it. If a particular vendor (Paypal) doesn’t want their brand/name associated with it, fine – but don’t hide behind a wash of crap about legal issues. If I were to put it into a letter, it would go something like this…

Dear Morally Intolerant Yet Suspiciously Vague PayPal Nazis -

If you don’t like it, don’t read it – I don’t  (and I came to that decision all by myself, without your censorship.) However, since you like to read so much, I have a great suggestion… it’s called the Bill of Rights, and it includes all the building blocks for a strong, independent society of people.

ALSO! Let’s get one thing straight. Only individual publications containing ‘unlawful’ content should be penalized based on the explanation of ‘possible legal implications.’

Now, yes, if you want to tell the truth – that you just don’t want your company to be associated with that ‘type’ of content, because you think it’s wrong and disgusting – I’d be glad to accept that explanation in lieu of all the lies and bullshit. Just say, this is my company, and we don’t do that. Fine. Cool. You’re American too, you can totally make that call.

Just stop trying to choke out a whole genre based on your personal moral standards, because eventually your censorship will cause a whole world of blond, blue-eyed fiction so inbred as to have no hope of higher brain function.

Sincerely,

Someone this issue doesn’t effect (yet) but is still pissed off at the very thought that my ‘banker’ would try to take away my right as an American citizen to make decisions based on my own moral compass.

Because I CARE, dammit!

My current facebook post:

“GAH! Two hours later – after rewriting and editing what I wrote the last time I made myself sit and write for two hours (and because I can’t just leave it alone like I used to) – I have 352   f#@*ing  words to show for the night. And now I’m out of time and a month and a half behind schedule.

WTF dude, really.

Alright, enough negativity. As per the great voices in my group – all is well as long as they are the RIGHT words, so yeah. I’m okay. We’re okay. Publish date, whenever it may end up, is okay. (disgusted sigh)”

Why am I sharing this here? Because I don’t want you to think I’m just lolly-gagging around, not giving a damn. I hear your compliments and your excitement and it humbles me beyond words. I want this book to live up to your expectations. I want to be a better writer, a better story teller. I want you to read and be taken away to a place you never want to leave. And yes, dammit, I WANT to finish – finish strong.

So thank you for your continued patience. I know your life doesn’t hang on this book, but in some ways, I feel like mine does and I need it to be right, because I care.

I crack myself up (First Draft excerpt from Restricted Access)

This is where I’m supposed to yell,
“SPOILER ALERT!”

I can’t help it. Sometimes I get so tickled, I just need to share it with someone. I mean, where does the shit rolling around in my head come from, really?  Without further discussion (for fear of the answers), I invite you to laugh with me – or at me, whichever you prefer.

(EXCERPT: RESTRICTED ACCESS, Scene – on the run with orphaned infant in Bolivia)

The baby woke up three times in the long night, and each time my worry grew about the dwindling milk supply. Tomorrow, we’d be on the move again, and with nothing to feed him, Xander was bound to cry and possibly call attention to our location.

On the third feeding, when Fred returned to his post to take watch, I mentioned the issue to him. ”I don’t know how long I can make this stretch. I’ve only been feeding him a little at a time, but he’s getting hungry more often.”

“Just do what you can. When you think he’s had enough to settle, pacify him and see if he’ll go back o sleep.”

I snorted. “Pacify him? With what?”

He smiled one of his rare, playful smiles. “God gave them to you for a reason.”

My eyes couldn’t have gotten any wider if he’d danced around naked in front of me. “Uh, isn’t that a little weird? I mean… we just met.”

It sounded stupid, but it was true. The kid had been in my life less than twenty four hours. There was just something wrong about whipping out a boob; it’s not like they could even produce anything.

“I’m sure he won’t mind – I wouldn’t.” His voice was laced with wicked laughter.

“Okay, I never thought I’d say this, but eww. Those two thoughts should never be connected. He nurses on breasts. You, if anything, would suck on tits. Two totally different things: motherly, loving breasts – sexy, spectacular tits. Anything that mixes the two is just perverted and weird.”

“You’d be surprised how many people would disagree. However -” He grabbed my hand, holding it up in front of my face in the predawn glow. “I was actually talking about your fingers. Let him suck on your pinkie.”

My eyes narrowed on his laughing face. “Nu-uh. You said you wouldn’t mind sucking on them. You were not talking about fingers.”

His eyes sank to half mast as he slowly brought my hand to his mouth. Soft warmth surrounded the tip of each finger, tugging at nerve endings I’d forgotten I possessed. The scrape of his teeth on the pad of my pinkie sent a shiver down my spine, to places that immediately perked up and begged for attention.

“Oh god. Alright, I concede the point. I’m the dirty birdie with smut for brains. My mistake. You can stop now.”

He smiled and went back to his post. I’d almost gotten my heart rate back to normal when he claimed the last word. “Sexy and spectacular, huh? I can’t say that I’d mind that either.”

Leap – Look – Flap your arms like mad!

I have to apologize from the bottom of my heart.  I know I promised book two of the Cartel Series, Restricted Access, to be published today, but try and think of it like this…

If I’d invited you to dinner and ended up having to work late, I could do one of two things: rush home to serve you a quick, cold pasta salad – or - offer you a glass of wine and appetizers while you wait for the hot, juicy steak and lobster I originally planned.

I don’t want to give you cold pasta. Cold pasta sucks. In fact, I refuse to give you cold pasta. That being said, the completed, edited book will be published soon, and I promise to make it worth your wait :)

-Be sure to subscribe to my website to receive a coupon for your free copy-  (Book two will not be free to the general public)

In the mean time, for some wine, I’m going to publish another erotic short story: Dirty Hot Mess. This was the same story included in the recent ‘Fall into Erotica’ anthology featuring myself, Brandie Buckwine, Ellison James, Samantha Whitney, and Nikki Palmer. That anthology is no longer available for download, so I will publish my story separately for anyone who still wishes to read it.

Thanks to everyone for all the awesome encouragement and onward-ho! Promise, I’ll get you the next book SOON (like next month soon)!

Investment: Banker

Something you may or may not know, I launched into writing my first book after having less than 20,000 words worth of short stories completed. If practice makes perfect, I’m a roll of the mediocrity dice.

I am striving to catch up with my esteemed peers, though; and to that end, I have a wonderful friend and fellow writer who was willing to do a serious proofread and critique for me on book one, Under Construction. Yes. That’s right. On top of trying to finish book number two in the series by January 2nd, I’m also ‘fixing’ the flubs in the first book.

The proposed edits arrived in my inbox this afternoon, and all I can say is: Yikes. I didn’t come here to cry, though. I love writing. And though it may sound arrogant of me, I think writing loves me. Obviously, you think so, too :)

However, there has been a serious question posed, and I’d like to put it to those of you who have already read Under Construction. What is your opinion on the scene where Alex settles the score with Banker? Love it, hate it, too cheesy, super sexy, favorite part, leave it on the cutting room floor? I want to know what you really think – the good, the bad, and the horny – I can handle it all, so give it to me, baby!

Post your comments below, and as always, remember to enter your email address in the box over there to receive updates on the new book.
