“Carry My Cross” by Victory Worship
I love this new song from the recent Victory Worship album.
Note to EN songwriters: More songs that call us to the cross, please.
The Manila Miracle
About this time last year, as the 40th anniversary of Victory Church Manila was gradually sneaking up, the Victory leaders asked me to write a book. That project is now called The Manila Miracle and is fresh off the press. In The Manila Miracle, I introduce 40 “sayings” (and the stories behind the sayings). These 40 sayings have shaped Victory Church Manila for the past 40 years and will hopefully guide Victory for the next 40.
A Message for Preachers
As an Every Nation Seminary preaching coach, I constantly remind preachers that sermons rebuke, reorder, and reconstruct the ideas in our heads. Sermons offer a biblical lens through which we see the world as it can be and should be. Preaching not only inspires the heart but also renews the mind.
As I was reading Psalm 62, I thought about what we, as preachers, are trying to accomplish. Listen to this brief message to hear my thoughts on preachers and sermons from Psalm 62.

A Burning in My Bones: The Authorized Biography of Eugene H. Peterson by Winn Collier
Professor, author, pastor. Eugene Peterson’s life was lived before the throne of God. His love for God poured out through his words, whether in lectures, books, or sermons. His impact is still felt today as his legacy continues through his writings. Catch a glimpse of the love that captured his heart and motivated him to love others well.
Eric turned the knob slowly, silently. He peered through the crack. And even now, Erick’s eyes turn moist as he tells me the memory while we sit together. A small woven rug lay on the tile floor before his dad’s desk. Candlelight flickered from the wine bottle. Eugene rested on his knees with a tallit—the tasseled Jewish prayer shawl—wrapped around his shoulders, a Hebrew Psalter splayed in front of him. He rocked gently, engrossed in the world of the Scriptures, surrendering to ancient prayers. . . . Only a boy, but he knew he’d witnessed something holy.
Three Ways to Lead Like Moses
One of the best ways to think like a leader is to study biblical leaders. Today, we look at one of the greatest leaders ever: Moses. Exodus 17 gives us three pictures of the leadership thinking of Moses.

“As in Heaven” by City Music
Here’s a new song from City Life Church’s worship team. Enjoy.
Why We Believe
I am encouraged to hear from people around the world who are using We Believe in daily devotions, in discipleship groups, and in their church foundations classes. We Believe goes deep theologically and is as crucial as mission and relationships have been in shaping who we are.
Leaders Don’t Think Alone
It’s important to have spiritual leaders in our lives, specifically older and more mature ones. If we want to think like a leader, we can’t think alone. We think with the people God puts in our lives.
In 1 Samuel 3, Samuel first hears God’s voice as the voice of his mentor, Eli. Often, the voice of the Lord may sound like our mentor, so we may be tempted to ignore or reject it. Don’t reject it just because it sounds familiar. If it weren’t for Eli, Samuel would have never realized that this was the voice of God.
If we want to think like a leader, we need the older and wiser voices in our lives. I encourage you to think, not independently but along with other leaders.
