Lead Well at Home
Today, I want to talk about how leadership starts with our families and children. Psalm 127 teaches at least two big leadership lessons:
Parenting is a divine partnership.Parenting requires a divine perspective. As leaders and parents, may we partner with God and see our children the way he does.
Hope in the Wasteland
As spiritual leaders, how are we to act when we see wasted potential in people and culture? Jeremiah 33 shows us that we should wait and hold on to the promise of God. Although waiting often brings frustration, it is also formative.
May we see God’s promises fulfilled even in the wasteland.

C. T. Studd: Cricketer & Pioneer by Norman Grubb

I have just finished reading this book for the third time. The first time I read it, I was a new believer. The second time was as a new missionary in the Philippines. It continues to be one of the most impactful books on missions that I’ve ever read. Anyone interested in God’s global mission will love this book!
After surrendering his life to Jesus, C. T. Studd went from being a rich and famous athlete to a legendary missionary in China (9 years), India (6 years), and Africa (21 years), where he died ministering to the people of the Congo.
I cannot tell you what joy it gave me to bring the first soul to the Lord Jesus Christ. I have tasted almost all the pleasures that this world can give. I do not suppose there is one that I have not experienced, but I can tell you that those pleasures were as nothing compared to the joy that the saving of that one soul gave me.
Uplifting Your Downcast Soul
At some point, every leader has experienced or will experience a downcast soul. Psalm 119 shows us how God’s word can uplift our souls. The psalmist instructs us to:
Meditate on the word.Choose faithfulness to the word.Set God’s word before you.Cling to God’s word.
May your dedication to the word of God be life-giving to you and an example to those you lead.
The Power of Solitude
As spiritual leaders, most of life and leadership are best done together. However, there are several stories in the Bible where we see the power and importance of solitude. Today, I want to look at Jacob’s life and how a moment alone with God changed him and his family forever.
May we as leaders intentionally find moments to be alone with God.
