The New Christian Zionism edited by Gerald R. McDermott / Faith in the Face of Empire by Mitri Raheb

This book argues that Zionism and Israel’s claim to the Promised Land can be defended historically, biblically, politically, and morally.

This book argues the polar opposite of The New Christian Zionism, both theologically and morally regarding modern Israel and the Holy Land.

To THINK LIKE A LEADER requires us to attempt to understand both sides of complex and polarizing issues. While I don’t fully agree with the ideas in either of these two books, they are good reminders that both perspectives represent real people living in and through difficult circumstances.

A House of Prayer for All Nations

In over four decades of being a pastor, my life and ministry have been driven by two passions: the local church and global mission. For some, those are tension points, but for me, they work hand-in-hand.

In Mark 11, Jesus makes three adjustments that help describe who and where the Church should be:

A move from temple to house.A move from practical to spiritual.A move from local to global.

As leaders of local churches who are passionate about global mission, let’s be the kind of Church that both prays for the nations and goes to the nations.

Touch Not My Anointed Ones

Psalm 105:12–15 is, in my opinion, one of the most misunderstood, misinterpreted, misused, abused, and wrongly applied verses in the Bible. It has been used by unscrupulous leaders to deflect criticism and silence contrary opinions. It has been preached in ways that have no connection to what the Scripture actually says.

The starting point for learning to think like a leader is to seriously study the text, properly exegete the text, and faithfully apply the text.

Watch the video for more on avoiding text abuse.

Delight in God’s Word

In today’s Think Like a Leader, we look at how the word of God impacts the life of a leader.

Psalm 112 reveals three areas of impact for the person who greatly delights in the Word of God:

FamilyFinancesFuture

Preach God’s Word

Spiritual leaders are supposed to think about and lead toward growth—numerical growth and spiritual growth.

Acts 6:7 connects numerical and spiritual growth with discipleship multiplication and obedient faith. The key ingredient for growth, discipleship, and obedience is the preaching of God’s Word.
