The Most Awesome Birthday Cruise Ever!

So, I’ve been MIA for the past week and a half. I haven’t really been missing. I’ve been cruising. Yep. Went on a cruise for my birthday and I have to tell you, it was the best cruise ever! I thought of you all every day—not. But don’t despair. I didn’t forget you all. It’s just that I had so many other things on my mind. I’m sure you can understand.   Yep, that's me sitting there in our living room. Since the cruise was a birthday present from my wonderfully romantic hubby, he decided to take it a few steps higher and upgrade us to one of the only two deluxe owner suites onboard. These suites (one on each forward side of the ship) have wall-to-wall windows with 180-degree views spanning from the bedroom throughout the living room.    Our dinning room
Yes! I have the best husband in the world. Thank you, honey, in case you read this. Annnnnd, the room came complete with a whirlpool bathtub, free booze, annnnnnnd, are you ready for this? A butler! Our very own butler, (not the Butler as in Gerard, that would have made me wet my pants or something) but Bagus, pronounced Bagoose

brought us much appreciated, hors d’oeuvres every afternoon and brownies, which made those ten pounds I lost before the cruise slightly creep back onto my hips.
There were several other awesome perks that came with these rooms. One of which, was the ease of getting on board. We didn’t have to wait in any lines. We were escorted directly on board and taken to the most swanky restaurant for a free lunch, which normally cost extra at this particular restaurant on the ship.  Aside from all the free fancy and not fancy restaurants, unlike most cruise ships, the Norwegian Cruise line has several other restaurants to choose from that require an additional cover charge. Breakfast and lunch were offered to us at this restaurant everyday for free, but most of the time, since we had that awesome view, we ate in our suite with room service that our butler was more than happy to fetch for us, which also contributed to those pounds that snuck back onto my cheeks (both sets).
So, where did our cruise go?
We started out in New Orleans, cruised to Costa Maya where we went on a very tiring excursion to the ruins and then spent some time on the beach, drinking Corona’s and sunning ourselves. From there we floated down to Belize where we decided to take advantage of the ghost ship (literally) and stayed onboard. It was a wonderfully quiet and peaceful day, sunning by the pool with only a few other passengers who had the same idea. From Belize, we took off to Roatan, Honduras, a surprisingly beautiful place with the most powdery white sand. Need I say more? We did do a little shopping there too but mostly enjoyed the beach. Our last stop on the cruise was to Cozumel. In Cozumel, we went on our own, did some shopping and had lunch. Cozumel is just south of Cancun and aside from the beautiful crystal blue-turquoise water, it is a typical Mexican tourist town with someone wanting you to buy something every few feet. I had to laugh at one point after several guys trying their best to coax us to come check out this or come check out that, when one piped up and said, “Come check out my sister.”
As we cruised our way back up to New Orleans, we were given a tour of the bridge. Our concierge had mentioned to us that no one had the view we had from our suite except the captain and he didn’t lie.
I do have more pictures and will post them here and facebook as I sort through them.
We had such an amazing time. The ocean was very kind to us. In fact, I really miss the gentle sway of the boat as it lulled me to sleep every night while I watched the stars that somehow always seemed much closer to earth than normal.

Have you been on a cruise? Tell me about it, I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Party Crashers by April Angel Promo Blitz

Title: Party CrasherAuthor: April Angel Genre: EroticBlitz Host: Lady Amber's Tours

Blurb:She crashed his party and became his prize…

According to one annoying Drex Callum, Chris is a “nosy reporter.” And maybe she is. She’s heard of the super secretive event known as the Seduction Party, and she won’t be content until she finds a way in. The last thing she expects to find is that Drex is the host. She’ll never get an invitation from her nemesis—unless she finds a way to get one herself. And breaking into his house is nothing if it means getting the scoop. But what she gets instead is an eye-full of the man himself, half-naked and more than she’d ever dreamed he could be in all her teenage fantasies.

Drex has been fantasizing about Chris forever, and now that she’s a grown woman, he still has a hard time treating her like one. So when she shows up at the Seduction Party—on the auction chair!—he’s got no other choice but to teach that nosey woman a lesson. He never dreamed sex could be like this, with Chris in his room, tied to a bed, asking him for stuff that blows his mind…

But when things turn ugly, it becomes clear that someone wants the nosey reporter dead. And Drex will have his hands full trying to keep his prize safe…
Author Bio:Want to know about me? April Angel (aka Milly Taiden) was born in the prettiest part of the Caribbean known as the Dominican Republic. She grew up between New York, Floridaand Massachusetts. Currently, she resides in New York City with her husband, bossy young son and their little dog Speedy.
She’s addicted to shopping for shoes, chocolate (but who isn’t?) and Dunkin Donuts coffee.
A bookworm when she can get her hands on a good story, she loves reading all Mina Carter and Dianne Duvall among others.

Excerpt:Chris held on to the window ledge and lifted one foot into the darkened room. She heaved her body over, landing on her ass in the process. A groan slipped from her lips, and she slapped a hand on her face. Crap. The last thing she needed was to call attention to her presence in Drex’s office.

Careful not to disturb anything, she walked over to his desk and started rummaging through drawers. Why the hell did she decide to become a reporter in the first place? Oh yeah, because she liked to be in people’s business was Drex’s usual snide response.

Something on the Seduction Party had to be in there somewhere. Wild drums beat in her chest. She tried to focus. She had to remain alone inside the room. She glanced quickly over her shoulder at the door. She was pissed to have to go to these lengths. Drex was a tight-lipped bastard, and she was reduced to snooping because he refused to invite her.

He knew she had been trying to write a story on the super private bash that took place once a year. Invitees were under strict restrictions and had to sign confidentiality waivers. Luckily, she’d overheard her brother, Cole, on the phone with Drex. The rat mentioned he’d gotten his invite and thanked Drex for sending it over. Her blood simmered with anger.

For months, she’d mentioned to both men how badly she’d been trying to get more info on the secretive party, but they’d done nothing to help. All she wanted was to get her hands on an invite, finally figure out what the heck the stupid Seduction Party was all about, and write her damn story.

It was no secret she and Drex didn’t see eye to eye, but he didn’t have to be so rude to her in his attempts to ward her off. When she’d asked, point blank, if he’d let her into the party, the jerk had shaken his head and said, quite empathically, no. Bastard. No matter—she’d get her own invite.

She went through every drawer until she hit a locked one. She smiled in wicked delight. Ha, as if that flimsy lock was going to deter her. In seconds the lock clicked open. Cautiously, she pulled the drawer by the handle and grinned. Jackpot.

A noise broke through her joy. Someone was outside the office. She curled her hand around the coveted black envelope and shoved it to the bottom of her crossbody bag. She threw the bag out the same window she’d crawled in and was about to jump when the door opened.

“Chris?”

Oh, hell. Frozen in place, she gripped the window ledge and looked longingly at the bag in the shrubs. Of all the people that might have walked in, why did it have to be Drex? Goose bumps broke across her skin and her frustration soared. She hated the effect his voice had on her body.

“Christine, I can see you quite clearly.”

She narrowed her eyes at the laughter in his voice. Taking a deep breath, she turned to look at him and almost fainted.

When the hell had he gotten that body? He was wet and in a towel. A tiny thing wrapped low around his hips. In stupefied shock, she watched his bronzed muscles flex as he took a step toward her. She widened her eyes and almost fell out the window trying to move away. She’d known him all her life, and there wasn’t one time she’d seen him look like…like that.

Stunned, dry mouthed, and getting hornier by the minute, she let her gaze roam over him. From the wet short spikes of his dark hair, to his wide hairless chest, down the eight-pack abs, and lower to the precarious towel that showed a hint of pubic hair, she visually devoured him. She gulped.

“Christine? Chris?” Worry was in his voice.

“Hmm?”

“You OK? You look kind of flushed.” He took another step toward her.

She tried her best to melt into the wall, but her body had other ideas. Under her tank top, her nipples pebbled to hard points. Her gaze darted up to his, and she saw something she’d never seen there before—lust. Panic swarmed her.

“I’m fine.” She took a step away from the window and him at the same time.

“What are you doing here? No one mentioned you were waiting to see me.” He lifted his brow.

It was hard to concentrate on what he was saying when so much of him was still on display. “I just…I just came by to see—” She swallowed and tried to remember what the hell she was supposed to say if she got caught.

“To see?” He prompted her with a smile. She figured he knew she was having a hard time but was thoroughly enjoying her discomfort.

Disgusted with her feminine parts, she sent all sexual thoughts to the deepest, darkest part of her brain. Her old crush on him had died a quick and silent death back in her teenage years.

“I came to ask if you’d decided to help me get my story.” Her voice sounded firm, and she squashed any notion of seeing what lay under the tiny towel.

He took a step closer and she one back. The back of her knees hit a sofa, and she fell back into the cushioned seat. His face was tense.

Her pulse jumped into a crazy gallop. Never had she seen him look so severe and, damn it, it turned her on.

“Why would I do that?” His voice deepened to a low rumble.

Something, very much like panic, pushed her to get away from him. Never one to fear, she got angry instead. “Look, I came to give you a second chance at helping me. You know I will get into that party, and when I do, I’m writing about every single thing I see there. This is your one chance to have some say on what I put down on paper.” She stood and walked toward the door of the office and then turned to face him. “So, what will it be?”

“I said no, and I meant no. That party is not the kind of thing you should be going to.”

“You hypocrite! You sent Cole an invite, and yet I can’t get one?”

He clenched his jaw. “Your brother is a grown man.”

“And what the hell am I? I’m not a little girl anymore. I know what I’m doing.” She grabbed the door handle and glared at him. “I’m going, whether you like it or not.”

He gripped her arm. Her eyes met his in an angry battle of wills.

“Don’t do anything you’ll regret, Chris.”

Unsettled by his touch, she shook her arm out of his hold. “Life’s too short for regrets.” She walked out and toward her car without a single look back.

NEW RELEASE - The Promise by Kim Carmichael

Title: The PromiseAuthor: Kim CarmichaelGenre: EroticaPublisher: Hot Ink PressBlitz Host: Lady Amber's Tours
Synopsis: Demon Dolan Ciar exists on three simple words: desire, denial, and destruction. Every four years, he is allowed one night of earthly passion to punish a deserving female. By the time he is finished, his victims are left as willing receptacles for demons yet to come. Since she was four, a demon has been the only constant in Leora Desmond's life. He taught her how to seize control, to never give up, and to take whatever she wanted. At twenty-four, her self-centered existence is focused on one thing. She wants Dolan, and she won't be dissuaded. A mistake brought Dolan to Leora. A promise bound him to her. Returning once again to ask for his freedom, he is faced with Leora demanding to be his next conquest. The ultimate retribution would be to take from her the ultimate symbol of her selfishness. Now, Dolan must decide if he can doom her to life in living hell or face his own set of unearthly consequences, while Leora must choose between her pleasure and her heart. The Promise blurs the line between good and evil, desire and love, and promises and commitment.

Excerpt:
He tilted his head. "You look older."She forced herself to blink and to remember her goal. "Then I assume I am at last old enough to be a fit for a demon." She stepped forward, stopping less than a foot away from him. The back of her throat dried out, and she swallowed. He put his hand to his chin, his gaze taking her in. "This old song and dance. When will you use the brains you have and leave it alone?"His words hit her, but rather than retreating, she moved closer. The energy, the tingle, the wafts of spice encompassed her and lured her toward him. "Never.""You were smart last time. Why don't you release me so I can do what I came here for." He glanced down at her and then shifted his focus beyond her. "I have needs as well.""Tonight I am the one you came here for." The mention of his last visit stung, but she willed herself to keep going. She ran her fingers up the buttons of his shirt. "You always told me to take control."He shook his head. "A lesson you learned well."She reached up and clenched his collar in her fist. "I let you go last time, but tonight I am the one you need."He grabbed her wrist. "I spared you before. Never forget that."She stared right into his eyes. No weakness was allowed tonight. "It's me, Dolan. Me, or you can be celibate until the decade I do you the favor of dying. I don't care about your pain." She tensed, preparing herself for his retaliation."I thought I taught you better than to make demands of a demon." He pressed his palm to the side of her face.Heat radiated through her body, sending a warning to every one of her nerve endings. "A demon who comforts a child is a failure of a demon in my book."His jaw tightened. "That was a mistake. An oversight."

Here are few Excerpts from The Road That Leads To Home
1.            “Why are you fighting this?" James groaned. "I know what you said, but I don't buy that. I've seen the future, and it's me. You know we belong together. Nothing else matters."

2.            You remember James Clements, don’t you? He’s Dad’s right hand man these days.” Then with a laugh she said, “Guess it wasn’t you he was interested in getting his hands on, it was the inn.”                Shows what she knows. He did get his hands on me and on more than one occasion, Sara thought to herself. Back then, she thought he was the man she would spend the rest of her life with, but it wasn’t meant to be.

3. Taking a deep breath she said, “I decided last night after talking to Becca. I wanted to sleep on it to be sure that it was what I wanted, and it is. I haven’t contacted anyone in Florida about this yet, but I will. As for my stuff, I will have to go back and sort through it to see what I’ll be able to keep and what I’ll wind up getting rid of. I’ll go back some time after Dad gets home so you’ll at least have Mom to help out.”  â€œIf I need to do some extra work to help out while she’s away I won’t mind.” James said to Becca before turning his attention back to Sara. “I have one more question for you if you don’t mind.”  â€œSure. Shoot.” “Will you marry me?

The Re-Release of CLOSURE by Kim Carmichael - New Cover

Title: CLOSUREAuthor: Kim CarmichaelGenre: Romance, Erotic Romance, EroticaPublisher: Hot Ink PressBlitz Host: Lady Amber's Tours

Book Description:There's always the one…
He's one person throughout life you think about every so often, the one who leaves his unique indelible mark on you, the person with whom you need closure.
For Margaret Collins that person was Mike Taylor.
After he broke her heart seventeen years ago, she left everything she knew and reinvented herself. With a new home, a new look and a new name, Riley Williams is now an up and coming journalist given the assignment to interview a Mike Taylor. She never suspected he would be her Mike Taylor.
With Mike having no hint of Riley's true identity, she must decide if she will make him pay for sins he doesn't remember committing, or if she can wipe away the past and be with the one man who she has always wanted?
Can she finally have closure?

ExcerptMike never tutored her in chemistry. She supposed it was because she followed the instructions in that class or she may blow herself up. One thing was certain. She did not need any help now.
"Take a bite." Mike held up a spoon containing a sampling of chocolate covered coconut cake with raspberry sauce.
They sat together at tiny table outside the small café where they were presented with several small dessert selections, including chocolate mousse and a custard dish, but both their eyes went to the sinful cake first.
Their dinner was incredible, but not for the food. She barely remembered eating, but she savored the way Mike ordered for her, how he chose the ideal wine to compliment the meal, and how he continued to stare at her as if nothing else existed.
"It's dripping." She shook her head.
"Then it's perfect." He lifted the spoon higher.
She decided not to mention anything else dripping. She was ready to drown.
Instead, she lapped up some of the sauce with her finger.
She went to put her finger between her lips, when he dropped the spoon and caught her wrist.
"I believe I would like the first taste." He brought her hand to his mouth and sucked the sauce off her.
He swirled his tongue along her fingertip. If he was trying to show her exactly what he could do to another part of her body, it worked.
"Delectable." He licked his lips. "But I believe I need something more." He leaned forward and kissed her.
This kiss was different than the one on the pier. They already skipped over awkward, unsure connections and were now at tantalizing tastes. The type of kissing usually meant as a precursor to other, more satisfying, activities.
He opened his mouth giving her a sampling of the decadent dessert mixed with him.
No, dripping wasn't the word to describe her. If he were any other man, she would have already had them back in bed letting him properly attend to her needs. She squeezed her thighs together in an attempt to relieve some of the pressure.
He placed his hand on her leg. "You seem a little tense."
She glanced at him out of the corner of her eye, tightening and relaxing the muscles in her leg. "I'm just in good shape.""So I feel." He inched his hand up, his fingertips sneaking under the hem of her dress.

ExcerptDarkness surrounded me. A voice spoke softly in my head. Do not die, young one. Be strong. Do not die.I became painfully aware of liquid pouring down on me, each drop like an icy hammer hitting my sore skin. Movement echoed in my ears, telling me that I wasn’t alone. Slowly, I opened my eyes. Harsh light blinded me. My mind was fuzzy. I struggled to recall any small detail that might clue me in to what had happened and where I was.I reached up to wipe the splattering water from my face. I chanced opening my eyes again. As I looked up, I spotted the source of the water, a showerhead on the opposite wall. Confused by this odd location, I struggled to penetrate the blackness of my memory and figure out how I had ended up in a bathtub. Where the hell am I?I tried to focus on the bright, unfamiliar surroundings. My vision, it seemed, had become remarkably sharp while I was unconscious. I couldn’t remember ever noting so many details in such simple surroundings as these before. Cream-colored tiles covered the walls, each rippled with tiny imperfections. Each held an individual pattern, making them unique and special. Yellowing, porous grout, framing the tiles, appeared to be littered with dots from small air bubbles that had come to the surface, creating different patterns and shapes. Even the plain white curtain that separated me from the rest of the room seemed unusually detailed and perfectly woven. I saw each tiny strand that had been tightly bound together to form this heavy, durable cloth. Small specks of mold building up in the corners of the porcelain basin weren’t able to escape my new sight either. The amazing level of detail I experienced didn’t hold my attention for long. Freezing water still poured down on me. I needed to reach the handle and end the cold assault, but it seemed so far out of my reach. I eased myself up to a sitting position, my muscles aching with each small movement. Looking down, I saw my beaten body. The water had washed away some of the grime, but what was left of my shredded clothes was stained and clinging to my skin.“Uggh!” I moaned. “Oh, good, you’re alive,” said a male voice from behind the white curtain. The voice seemed strange and yet somehow familiar. I searched my fuzzy memories to place the voice with a face. A wave of fear came over me as I remembered the attack.Had I been kidnapped? Was I a hostage of some kind? I struggled to recall the events of the evening.“You’ve been out for a few hours. I was worried I might have lost you,” continued the voice.“What?” I called, still not sure who I was talking to. “It doesn’t always work. Some people can’t be turned,” the voice said matter-of-factly.“Turned?” What the hell is that supposed to mean?

Then one corner of her lip lifted into a slight grin, she nodded and dropped her hands to her sides. “Okay fine, leave me here.” She plopped down on the bed and grabbed the remote.Darius stilled, his own eyes narrowing at the sudden change in her attitude. He knew that never bode well. He studied her suspiciously. “Tell me you are not going to follow me.”Seriana didn’t look at him. “Okay, I won’t.” Her eyes remained glued to the TV. “See you later.”He stood with his hands on his hips shaking his head. “You don’t give up that easy.” He stepped over in front of the television, blocking her view.Seriana lifted her eyes to him and smiled, making sure her mind was completely blocked to him. “You are the strategist for the Guard. You know what you are doing. Interview with Seriana

1.  What is your full name and where are you from? Seriana Aphenithea, Princess of the Loxy Realm

2.  What was your life like growing up? Since I was stripped of my memory when I was banished from my realm of Loxy, I do not recall my life growing up. It is coming to me in bits and pieces.
3.  Is there anything special about you that makes you different from a regular girl on earth? Since I am not a regular girl from earth I am completely different than they are. My skin is very pale, my hair is white and my eyes are pink. Luckily I can change the color of my eyes so I don’t stand out quite so much.
4.  Have you ever been in love and if so, can you tell us about him? As I regain my memories I know there is a human I was in love with, but I am still grasping to find out more.
5.  Do you have any fears? Never gaining my full memories is my biggest fear.
6.  What’s your favorite outfit? Honestly I prefer no clothing. The material of from the earth realm can be chaffing at times.
7.  What type of relationship do you have with Adam? Darius? With no real memories, other than what I am learning as I go along. With Adam my relationship is being built and I’m not quite sure where that is going. With Darius, he is with the royal guard from Loxy and a royal pain in my butt.
8. If you could do anything over again, what would it be? I would not change a thing. Life is as we live it.
9.  Where do you see things for yourself in the next five years? That is a good question. When I figure this one out I will let you know.
Fun facts.
Sunshine or rain? Both
Lake, Beach or Forest? Forest
Earth or Loxy Realm? Earth
Man or Wolf? Is there really a difference?

My Review:

This novella is a great addition to the Heart of a Wolf series. I was hoping we’d get to read Seriana’s story and was thrilled when this one came out. I was intrigued by Seriana when I first read about her in Werewolf Bound, Adam’s story. In this story, we get more than just a glimpse of Seriana and her interactions with Adam and Blake. She is Fey, and well, Adam and Blake are werewolves. There are others characters introduced into this story and that would be vampires and trolls. I enjoyed the story very much although, I would have liked to have seen a little more transition as scenes changed. It jumped a few times, which left me confused, but managed to pick up quick enough. I also would have liked to have seen a little more about Erick he was a big part of the story, however, we never got to meet him and now I want more. JIf you like werewolves, fey, vampires, and trolls, MaryLynn Bast has a great way of giving you just that. I gave this story 3.7 Shiny Stars.
