Candy Cane Kink Giveaway Hop Dec. 14th - 21st

Whisper Cape by Susan Griscom
“You read romance novels?”“Let’s just say I enjoy a good mystery once in a while and if there happens to be a little sex and romance in it, so much the better.”She laughed and he slipped his hand down between her thighs; soon her laughter changed to moans of delight. He lifted Addie up and turned her toward him as she wrapped her legs around his waist, lowering herself onto him. She quivered at the pleasure of having Cael inside her again as he moved deep within her.How did he stir such erotic emotions in her? All those desires, somehow missing from her soul, now came to the surface. His possessive hands on her slick hips guided her slowly as he went deeper and deeper, until the rhythm intensified. He pulled her close, his chest against hers, buried his face in her hair and whispered, “Addison.” The sweet sound of her name spoken in a voice so soft and husky sent an erotic shudder through her body.

As Luca danced with Sydney, he was reminded that he had not been with a woman in a long time. She was Kade’s woman, but that didn’t mean he did not appreciate the opportunity to touch her body. Just as she was beginning to relax, Luca spun her around into Kade’s arms. But instead of moving away, Luca rubbed against Sydney’s ass reaching his hands around her waist. His hands slowly inched up under Sydney’s breasts as Kade kissed her passionately.Sydney’s senses were overwhelmed. What the fuck was going on? She was letting two vampires monopolize her body, sandwiched in between them, loving every minute of it. Kissing Kade took her away into a headspace that she rarely went, pure pleasure. Yet, it scared her that she was letting him see her raw, so exposed. And worst of all, she felt the tingle all over her body. Wishing the situation with him could be permanent, she was falling for him.Kade grasped the nape of her neck and leaned in to speak sensually in her ear, “Sydney love, you are stunning tonight. Indeed, I am going to find it hard to let you go after this dance.” He kissed the lobe of her ear. “You seem to like playing with two men. Enjoying our dance with Luca aren’t you, love? But remember this Sydney, I don’t share, and at the end of tonight, you will be mine.” Mine? He could not believe he used the word but at the same time, he could not deny the all-consuming need to claim Sydney as his. He had every intention of making love to her over and over again, and was looking forward to hearing her scream his name in ecstasy.

“Wow,” I whispered, standing between Max and Court. Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed Court’s focus change and he stared down at me. There was something strange about the way his eyes bored into me, as if he could see into my soul. I waited for him to look away but he held his gaze on me while I pretended to marvel at the sky. I’d never seen him stare at me that way before and I got nervous. My fingers fidgeted with each other and I clamped two of them in my other hand to steady them. If I hadn’t known better, I never would have guessed in a million years he had injuries. His eyes stayed fixed on me with an intense tenderness I had never seen from a boy before. Maybe Courtland Reese wasn’t so bad after all. Standing between the two of them in all their glorious hotness had my stomach doing flip-flops. I knew it was wrong to think these things under the circumstances, but maybe my mind just needed the distraction … or confusion. I loved Max, but I was beginning to like Courtland too. Man, I was in so much trouble.

He turned his head, nuzzling the side of my jaw with his lips. His arms snaked around my middle, turning us so we were on our side and I was pressed into the folds of his chest. We were touching everywhere like two pieces of a perfect puzzle. Even the erratic tattooing of his heart beat against mine in an age old language understood only by them. We were as close to being a single entity as we could possibly get without ever removing our clothes. “What am I?” I whispered, my eyelids already drooping in the promises of sleep. If at any point I doubted that he felt half of what I felt, he pressed his lips to my ear, and whispered, “Mine. Always.”

Please join me in welcoming the lovely Deanna Lynn Sletten as we help celebrate the release of her new novel, Sara’s Promise . What a gorgeous cover. And she's having a giveaway. Details for the giveaway are below.

Title: Sara's Promise
Author: Deanna Lynn Sletten
Book Description:
Do you believe in soul mates?
William Grafton had the perfect life with his lovely wife, Sara, and two teenaged children. But one day his perfect forever was shattered when Sara died suddenly, leaving him alone to raise his children and wonder how he would ever get through life without his soul mate. Five years later, he finds himself looking into a familiar pair of blue-green eyes that remind him of Sara. The woman is the exact opposite of his late wife, yet he finds he is drawn to her. But after a few strange occurrences, he begins to wonder–are these just coincidences or has his Sara come back to him as she once promised in the form of this new woman?
Annie Paxton doesn't believe in soul mates or fate. She had watched her father die of a broken heart after her mother passed away and has since cast away any fairy tale ideas of love. Then she meets the man who has been haunting her dreams and she begins to see love in a whole new light. But her dream man is still tied to his deceased wife, and Annie doesn't know if he will ever be able to break away from his past. As strange occurrences unfold, Annie wonders if William could ever truly love her for herself and not for the traits that remind him of Sara.
Were William and Annie brought together by fate, coincidence or by Sara keeping her promise?
***
Excerpt:
Suddenly, panic swelled inside Sara. She stopped floating up and turned her face down toward where she'd come. Her love, her family, they were not here in the midst of the colors or in the smile of the golden face. They were back there, from where she had floated up. "There's nothing down there for you now, Sara," the golden rays told her kindly. "Up is where you want to go now. This is where you belong." But Sara could only look down. Through the mist of colors, she could make out the form of a face, no, three faces, three familiar faces. "My family, they need me," Sara said. But the lighted face above only smiled at her. "We're your family now, Sara. We need you now. Come to us." Sara turned toward the golden face, once again feeling the warmth of its smile. She wanted to continue to follow it, bask in its loving warmth forever. Yet, something held her back. Again, she glanced below, and caught the pained expression on a face that she loved. Her heart ached for the pain she saw in his face. A gasping sound came from behind that face, and she saw two more faces with glistening tears on their cheeks. A sudden urge made her want to hug them, hold them tight, and wipe away their tears. She had to go back. She had to erase the pain from those faces she loved so much. The golden face would have to wait. The others needed her more. "I can't go with you," Sara told the face above her. "I have to go back. I'm needed down there, not here." "I'm sorry, Sara, but it's too late. You can't go back now," the image of golden light told her.

Dying To Remember - New Release
Celebrating the new release of Trish Marie Dawson's Dying to Remember. If you’ve read Dying to Forget , Volume 1 of the Station Series, you’re going to love Dying to Remember, Volume 2. If you haven’t read the first one yet, what the heck are you waiting for? I for one, could not put it down. There is also a contest so be sure follow the link at the bottom of this post.

DESCRIPTIONThe next installment in The Station series by Amazon BestNeed more? You are in luck. Trish has graciously provided this awesome EXCERPT from Dying to Remember
If I thought the exceedingly happy mood that has me perched atop my favorite velvet throne would last very long I'm mistaken after I enter the Ones building. Niles is standing near the counter talking to Laney. I know the moment I see him that he is there to give me news about my volunteering status. Poof goes my throne."Hey, Piper. You really are a popular girl today," says Laney with a tight smile."I guess so," I try and laugh but it sounds more like a vocal seizure."Piper, I came to collect you," Niles says, all business."Collect me?" I try and laugh again, but the sound is simply unpleasant so I snap my mouth shut to avoid any more verbal diarrhea, and nod a goodbye at Laney while moving back outside with Niles.I allow my eyes a few seconds to readjust to the brightness around us. He places an arm loosely around my shoulders as we begin walking and says in a comforting tone, "Before I tell you where we are going and who we will be speaking with, I need you to understand you aren't in trouble. You've done nothing wrong, okay dear?"I don't trust my voice so I only nod."I'm taking you to see the Mentors and…" he pauses to glance around us, and only when he seems satisfied that no one is close enough to hear, he continues, "…and the Keeper."I don't know what this means. The look on my face must further establish my confusion but Niles only nods and continues to usher me around the fountain, which is currently teeming with teens of all ages, until we reach the Staff building. Finally, just as Niles opens the door in front of us, I find my voice, "What's the Keeper?""I can't tell you, but you will see, don't worry, dear. Remember, you aren't in trouble, okay?"We walk down the empty hallway and go through a door into a room that looks nothing like the one where Mallory and I met for the first time in person. This staff room is shaped more like an oval, with no corners on the walls and there are no tables or chairs. The center of the floor dips down a good two feet, creating a sort of recessed bench that matches the curved shape of the room. This is where the Mentor's sit in a circle. I get over my intimidation of them instantly as my eyes widen at the sight of the other person sitting with them. A man at least a good foot taller than anyone else stands and nods at me. His clothes appear to be all white but it's hard to tell at first, because the man is glowing.
A little about Trish:
Trish was born and mostly raised in San Diego, California where she lives now with her family and pets. She's been writing short stories and poetry since high school after an obsession with Stephen King's 'The Stand'. After over fifteen years of crazy dreams and an overactive imagination, Trish began her first book 'I Hope You Find Me' in December of 2011. When Trish isn't writing, she's homeschooling her amazing daughter and mildly autistic son, reading whatever she can get her hands on, or enjoying the Southern California sun. As a strict Vegetarian, Trish holds a special place in her heart for animal rights and dashes into the backyard weekly to rescue lizards and mice from her mini-lab/cocker spaniel mixed dog, Zoey...who is always getting into some sort of trouble.

What happens when a major earthquake changes life as you know it and the boy you thought you hated ends up saving you? Three times!
Courtland Reese is the guy everyone hates and makes fun of because … well, he is weird. He communicates with animals. Strange or interesting, seventeen-year-old Adela Castielle can’t quite figure out but when he saves her from being trampled by her own horse, she begins to understand him a little better and wants to learn more about him.
But, Max, her best friend/dream guy/someday-to-be-her-husband-only-he-doesn’t-know it—yet, hates Courtland with a passion. Adela wants to know why, except both boys are very reticent about the whole issue.
When Max leaves her stranded in his parents' wine cellar with his worst enemy, Courtland, after what the experts are calling a “megathrust” earthquake, Adela starts to question her loyalty to Max as steamy kisses in a dark damp cellar only fuel her emotions with more conflict.
But does she really have time to worry about that when fire, destruction and mayhem surround her?

Here's a teaser:
His green eyes were intensely dark and something told me he was afraid, and that brilliant assessment was quickly confirmed when I stole a glance at the two men. One, completely bald, wore a huge silver belt buckle with an even bigger capital “F” on it under an oversized stomach hanging down slightly over the top of the buckle. A beer gut, no doubt, the way his pants sat below his watermelon-sized stomach. Under any other circumstances, I would have laughed to myself because I often wondered how men like that managed to keep their pants up, but there was nothing funny about this guy. The other one’s greasy brown hair stuck to his forehead and he reminded me of a stick figure used in playing hangman. The way the clumps of hair swirled above his bony face looked like they’d been drawn there with a big black crayon, making his skinny-as-a-broom-handle frame appear even scrawnier. Big belly creep smiled at me revealing yellow crooked teeth and puffed on a cigarette before throwing it to the ground.
I looked at Court and nodded. He grabbed my hand and we walked out onto the street. We had no sooner taken a couple of steps down the hill than the two dubious looking mongrels approached us, fast. Like in the blink of an eye, they stood right in front of me.
“Hey, sexy girlie,” skinny guy said and scooted close to me, reaching his hand behind me, grabbing my braid. “Nice hair.”
I twirled around and tried to pull away from his hold on my hair when I heard a bone crushing sound as the skinny guy landed on his butt in the middle of the road. Big belly guy put up his hands. “Whoa, man, take it easy. We’re not going to hurt the pretty girl. Just wanted a little kiss, that’s all. See that lady over there? She gives us a kiss.”
“Ha, more than a kiss,” skinny guy chirped, pulling himself back up, rubbing his chin.
“You lay one hand on this one and you’ll never use those lips again,” Court said.
“You got in a good suckerpunch on ol’ Len there, but now what’s a boy like you gonna do against two strong men, huh?”
“Try it and you’ll find out.”
The creeps circled us, snickering. “You gotta share, boy. Hey, I know you. You’re that Miwok kid that talks to animals. Didn’t your Miwok mama teach you the ways of the white man?”
They know Court? How did they know Court was part Miwok? Did he know them?
I watched the vein in Court’s neck throb as his pulse thrummed along the side of his throat, and he stood focused on the two men, his eyes cold, dark, without emotion. His uninjured hand stayed by his side while his other one grabbed me and shoved me toward the men. I stumbled forward as he held on and kept me from falling. Why was he shoving me toward these two creeps, when he should be pulling me behind him?
“Yeah, my mama taught me all the good manners I’d need to get along in your white man’s world. You want her? Take her. She’s all yours.”
“What?” My head whipped around at him and I shouted, “Court, please don’t do this …”

Excerpt from Whisper Cape
While Cael signed all the necessary paperwork, he left Addison in the living room gazing out the huge picture window.“You come with good references. This is a small town and everyone knows just about everyone. Here are the keys. You two have a nice evening, now.” Addison turned toward the two men as Tom glanced in her direction and she blushed as she smiled back. Cael thought she looked radiant.Cael closed the door and strolled toward her. “So, Addison, welcome to my temporary home.” He stretched out his arms with his palms up, wanting to resume where they’d left off upstairs. She held up her hand and bent to grab her purse from the table, pulling her jacket tight. “I should go.”As she started for the door, he caught her arm, bringing her in close to him. He held her, gazed into her soft golden brown eyes. God, how he wanted her—there was no denying it. He put his hand under her chin—tilting her face up to his—his mouth just inches from hers. Searching her eyes, he remembered there was a great possibility she was Ristéard’s daughter and he slowly eased away from her.“Sorry, you’re right. You should go.”She almost stumbled as he let go of her. “Right … it would probably be the best thing.”He noted the disappointment in her voice and he walked her to the door, fully intending to open it, but instead he grabbed her again, pulling her close. This time he didn’t hesitate as he took her face in his hands and pressed his lips to hers. Her lips were warm and tender; he pulled back and stared at her, then covered her mouth with his again, losing himself when she slid her hands up his back and her lips parted. His tongue slid slowly over hers as he heard a soft moan escape from the back of her throat, the desire flooding his body unbearable.Addison lowered her arms from his back and gently pushed away, ending the kiss. His heart pounding, he sighed. “I’m sorry.”“Don’t be. I mean, it was just a kiss.”She blushed and he was amused at her attempt to sound casual. He wanted to make love to her right there, but his sudden desire to protect her took over. He wanted to question her about the telekinetic ability he’d witnessed her using at the cliff, but didn’t think she trusted him enough to confide in him yet. He figured she would never share her secret with him if she didn’t trust him. Wanting to be cautious in his approach, he gently placed his hands on her shoulders and asked, “Addison, have you experienced anything strange lately? You know, out of the ordinary.”There was hesitation in her eyes before she darted them away. “No, why? I’m not sure what you mean.”He frowned, studying her face—her lips still inflamed from the kiss. She was lying, but he also knew she thought it necessary to protect herself from exposure to the wrong people. It would require time for her to trust him enough.“Well, be careful, especially when you’re out alone taking pictures or anything else, okay?”He wanted to stay with her, protect her, and thought of telling her who he really was and why he was there, but realized it was too soon.“Addison, will you let me cook you dinner, you know, for helping me today?”“That’s really not necessary, I hardly did anything. I’m not even sure I gave you my opinion.”“Oh, yes you did, upstairs—you said this place was spectacular.”Her smile brightened the room. “Yes, I guess I did ... you want to cook me dinner?”“Yes, I would like that very much. Besides, I need help breaking in the kitchen.”“Well, okay.” “When is your next night off?”“Tomorrow.”“Good, then I’ll come by for you. Will you be at the bar or at home?”“I have the whole day off, so I’ll be at home, but you don’t have a car. How will you get there?”“I’ll manage.” He smiled as he held the door open for her and they walked to her truck. He wanted to take her in his arms again, but he knew if he did, he wouldn’t be able to control the desire to drag her back inside, rip her clothes off, and kiss every inch of her soft curves. He cupped her chin in his hand and ran his thumb over her lips. “I’ll see you tomorrow, then,” he said as he opened her truck door and helped her in.
