Back List Blast – Never Gonna Let You Go is ON SALE!! #99cents #Kindle
Hello and welcome to another Back List Blast post! On Tuesday, Never Gonna Desert You. releases from Decadent Publishing. It is the second book in The Underground series. Today’s excerpt is from Never Gonna Let You Go, the first book in the series which is ON SALE at Amazon for only 99 cents!!
Here is an excerpt from Never Gonna Let You Go, in which Melina reveals some secrets to Calla, and you also get a hint of what happens in the next story.
“Honey, there are so many things I need to tell you. But to begin, just know how sorry I am for hurting you.”
Her apology fell on deaf ears. Calla wasn’t ready to forgive. “You purposely said those things. You meant to hurt me.”
“I did.” She focused on her hands in her lap. “And I don’t blame you for hating me. I hate myself for what I did.”
As a rule, Calla didn’t hate anyone, but she still felt so much animosity. “Why did you do it then? Why did you drug Erik? Why did you make me think you had feelings for me?”
“For Brook.” Her words came out as a whisper, and a tear trailed over her cheek.
“Brook…Brook Malock? I don’t get it.”
“I love her.” Melina glanced up, her eyes rimmed in red.
She fumed. Nothing the commander said made any sense. “Yet you sleep around?”
“I don’t sleep around,” Melina snapped.
Calla snorted. “I can think of two instances where you did. Or did I just imagine it all?”
“I had to. Shit!” Melina brushed a hand over her face. “Malock doesn’t approve of his daughter being in a relationship with another woman. He said the only way he’d allow us to be together was if I did favors for him.”
She winced. “What?” Malock, president of Planet Core, had been the one to arrange her schooling and then secured her a position at the company. He’d even found her and Erik a place to live, assuring her PC would take care of all her needs. To learn he wasn’t the perfect man she thought he was came as a surprise.
Who would make their daughter’s lover seduce other people to get them fired?
“He told you to sleep with us?”
Rage boiled inside her. She had trusted the man with her life. How could he do such a thing? Why wouldn’t he just fire her?
“Basically, yes. I’m so sorry, but the worst part is, I haven’t seen Brook since I agreed to do his bidding.”
Calla saw the regret in Melina’s eyes. “Why couldn’t you just leave PC? Say no?”
“Malock has ways of encouraging people to do his bidding, although I think his fatal consequences might have caused less suffering in the end.”
Remember, this story is ON SALE at Amazon for 99 cents until June 30!

Barristers, solicitors and politicians, oh my! Guest post by @authorCassDean
Hi peeps,
For those of you who don’t know me, I’m Cassandra Dean and I write historical romance ranging from sweet to steamy. I also play about in the eras, roaming from Ancient Rome to Victorian to the Old West and beyond. I’d like to extend a thank you to Jessica for once more hosting me on her blog. Jessica is a wonderful supporter of authors and an all around lovely person. Big massive thanks and hugs!
In SILK & SCANDAL, the hero is a barrister practising law in Early Victorian London. For those who don’t know, the English legal system splits the profession into solicitors and barristers. Solicitors are attorneys, which means they can act for and on behalf of their client, and may conduct litigation. A barrister is not an attorney and cannot conduct litigation, however only a barrister can speak in court. Therefore, a barrister is ‘retained’, or instructed, by a solicitor on behalf of the client.
Thomas in SILK & SCANDAL is a criminal barrister, either defending or prosecuting the accused. Barristers can be retained by both sides of the courtroom, and the colour of the ribbon around the accused’s ‘brief’, or the case file, denotes which – white meaning prosecution and red meaning defence. Barristers practising in Victorian London were not all that different from barristers practising today – they wore the black robes of their office, they donned the white wigs, they adhered to many of the same laws. Often, barristers also became politicians, and so I made Thomas a newly minted member of parliament, struggling to make his mark in his political party and his profession. It’s a fascinating subject, and I had a blast researching it all.
However, why on earth did I go to such lengths to make Thomas move in such circumspect and scrutinised circles? Because his heroine attracts scandal wherever she goes, of course! The contrast between the discreet and careful Thomas and the free-thinking and impulsive Nicola made for some great fireworks – besides, I had to torture Thomas somehow.
And now, an excerpt featuring just a tad of that lawyering:
Rubbing her eyebrow, Nicola reread the constable’s report. For hours, they’d read and reread and reread again, report after report. The day had darkened, and the gas lights in the room had been lit over an hour ago, yet still they researched and examined and tried to find some way to effectively defend Thomas’s client.
Exhaling, she gave up. There was no way around it. “I don’t think calling the constable will help in any way. His statement is ironclad, and none of the events are in dispute.” Turning her gaze from the report, she glanced at the man beside her.
His own report forgotten before him, he looked at her, his thumb pressed against a smile.
Brows drawing together, she asked, “Was there something, Thomas?”
Removing his thumb from his lips left only his smile. “You’re rather adorable when you concentrate.”
Heat flared in her cheeks. Quickly, she looked down at the paper. “You shouldn’t say such things.”
“Nic, are you blushing?”
“No,” she mumbled.
“You are!” She looked up to find him grinning at her. “The Queen of Scandal, stymied by such a small comment? Why, I fair can’t believe it to be true.”
She scowled. “I’m not stymied, and I’m not the Queen of Scandal. I feel quite certain there are others much more worthy of that epitaph.”
“Yes, you are stymied.” Reaching forward, he flipped a loose curl of her hair. “It’s adorable.”
Thank you for stopping by and I hope you enjoy SILK & SCANDAL.

The SFR Brigade’s 2nd Midsummer Blog Hop #sfrb #scifirom #giveaway

Thank you to Pippa Jay for organizing another fabulous hop!
Out of This World!!
That is the theme of this years hop for this year’s Science Fiction Romance Brigade’s Midsummer Blog Hop. Now, when I’m reading or watching science fiction, I love to be transported to futuristic and distant worlds, some wonderful, and others the setting of nightmares. I try to do the same for my readers with my stories.
On Tuesday, I have a story releasing that takes place in a futuristic dystopian society, not exactly a great place to live. Here’s an excerpt showing the world I created for The Underground series.
From Never Gonna Desert You:
Melina slumped onto the padded hover chair. Another monstrously long day spent working at Planet Core. And she hadn’t had a chance to talk to Brook. Not once in the past three weeks. The blonde beauty had holed up in the lab, never making a public appearance. At least no place she’d thought to try.
And every weekend since the fiasco, she’d seen Jason at the bars, picking up other women. At work, he followed her around, reiterating his offer to “fuck her blind.” No wonder Brook hid. If Melina had the opportunity, she’d do the same.
She shoved the plate of replicated fries and a burger across the table. So much for comfort food. She had to find a way to see Brook again, coax her back out into the world. God, when the woman strutted down the corridors wrapped in her uniform, it was all Melina could do to keep her hands and eyes off the ass that caught everyone’s attention. Not too hard, or too bony. Brook had the kind of figure that inspired nude paintings by masters of the past, and her own late-night masturbation fests.
Slamming a fist on the table, Melina groaned. She had to get out, clear her mind with a run. Otherwise, she would be back in her bedroom, fantasizing—again—about the woman she would never have. Brook would never go against the rules, never take a chance at a relationship with a woman. She wasn’t the type to disobey her father.
Melina pushed away from the table and rushed to the door. Slipping on a pair of running shoes, she laced them up. She transformed the PC-issued communicator into an earpiece, and tucked it in place. Selecting a playlist of songs with a heavy beat—her favorite lately—she pressed the door open.
“Good evening, Miss Holloway,” the robotic female voice rang out. “Enjoy your run.”
She sighed. Planet Core had their eyes on her the minute she stepped outside. She wouldn’t be surprised if they somehow monitored her private quarters, too. They owned everything.
I should have lived in the past. During the times when—according to her parents—large populations actually lived outside of the city and ate food other than what came from a replicator.
All before Planet Core took over. Now, everyone depended on the corporation for food, clothing, and shelter, at the cost of their unwavering loyalty. If she ever had the chance to see what was beyond PC’s reach, she’d take it and run.

Man of Steel and a Pajama Party
Wouldn’t it be cool to have the Man of Steel at a pajama party….
Okay, I’m back from that daydream. LOL How do the two go together? Well, today is my day at Backward Momentum, where I’m talking about how watching Man of Steel reminded me how important it is to show, not tell in fiction. And I’m also on Casey Sheridan’s blog for a Pajama Party. Come join in the fun and be sure to bring your pillow. And if we’re lucky, maybe the Man of Steel really will show up. *grins*

Hump Day Hook – An explosive release in Another Night, Another Planet #HDH
Hello everyone! Here’s one last look at my new release, Another Night, Another Planet.
Next week, I’ll be sharing excerpts from Never Gonna Desert You,
which releases June 25, 2013.
And a couple of quick announcements…
Sudden Breakaway & Never Gonna Let You Go are $0.99 @ Amazon until June 30, 2013.
Today Another Night, Another Planet is featured on Kindle Book Review,
and I’m talking sex in sci-fi romance at Hawt Reads and Dirty Talk.
Here is more with our hero, Nate:
Nate shivered as he stripped off his clothes behind the curtain. Did he really want an erotic massage from an Adamo trained in the art of erotic pleasure? A woman who wasn’t his date? Sure, the idea of the sexy Elatian woman running her hands over every inch of his skin left him craving a good fuck, but he’d rather have his actual match rub him down. He wouldn’t be of any use if he released early. His date would find him sleeping rather than awake to enjoy her company. Not the kind of reputation he wanted to garner his first night on the planet. He might have bedded many women across the universe, but he’d left each and every one of them satisfied, at least until they found out his ancestry. He couldn’t help his explosive releases. He’d tried everything to learn how to control them, but with no luck. Not since his first girlfriend, the one he’d left behind. Most women didn’t appreciate the damage he caused, nor his immediate need to rest after the orgasm drained him of all his energy.

Spotlight: Eternal Lovers & Eternal Nights by V.S. Nelson

Eternal Lovers
Virginia S. Nelson
ANCIENT LEGENDS – NEW WORLDS -Humans weren’t the only ones to migrate to America
When two hidden worlds collide near modern day Lake Michigan, Jennifer, a young Native American, is confronted with the reality, not everything is as it seems and things do go bump in the night. The questions she has long since asked are answered in this epic tale of self discovery when she meets Gabriel; the director of Guardians Incorporated.
Born in New Tuat, Netchkhet, now known as Gabriel, came to Earth some five thousand years ago to protect the human race. Disillusioned because of an unfulfilled prophecy, he has become cold and distant — even from those of his kind. Secretly, he waits for his enemy to take his head so he may leave this world for good.
Can a tiny Selkie melt his hardened heart and restore his faith in a power far greater than himself? When history repeats itself, can he save her from death’s embrace or will they be robbed of a future again?
Excerpt from Eternal Lovers:
Slowly Jennifer turned her head to take another look at the big guy leaning against the wall. Was he really looking at her? And if so, why?
She got brave. Out of her right eye she took a good long look at him. God knows she had never seen anyone that tall. He was no less than 275 pounds, solidly build, raven black hair combed straight back. He had a stern hard face with a perfect square chin. There was something about him she couldn’t quite put her finger on. It was like he was a wild animal on the prowl for something to consume, yet she sensed a gentleness about him like she did with most animals.
Strange, he’s been in the house for a while and its dark outside, why is he still wearing those shades? Maybe he’s a celebrity she didn’t recognize. Then again, maybe he’s high and trying to hide it.
He was richly dressed in an Italian black custom silk suit which had been tailored to fit his large frame. No suits came off the rack and looked like that. His black shirt, definitely silk, was unbuttoned to the middle of his smooth muscular chest showing his dark tanned naked skin.
Why does a man like that wax? Surely with his dark hair and features he would definitely have chest hair. Just as she was giving him a once over, he reached up with one hand lowering his glasses and looked directly at her. He had the most penetrating midnight black eyes she had ever seen.
With their eyes locked on each other she was lost, hypnotized, as she felt him reach into her soul. She knew he caught her staring at him, yet she couldn’t turn away. Part of her wanted to remain lost in his eyes, the other part of her wanted to run for her life.
Eternal Nights
ANCIENT LEGENDS – NEW WORLDS -Humans weren’t the only ones to migrate to America
Hidden and protected from everyone, including Jennifer, no one knew of her existence. Jessica spent a lifetime learning through the eyes of another. From the moment she saw him, she knew she and Raphael were destined to be together.
Can she find the strength to free herself and save Raphael or will she join him in death’s embrace?
Excerpt from Eternal Nights:
Raphael’s eyes fluttered open. He saw the familiar woman with her long platinum hair blowing in the wind as she walked towards him. Her face was all too familiar yet he still didn’t know who she was. He searched his mind trying to remember if she’d ever told him her name in all the hours they spent making love in his dreams. He was too weak from blood loss to focus his cognitive abilities–instead he just stared at the beautiful angelic looking young woman who knelt down beside him.
Wondering if he was dreaming he finally asked, “Who are you?”
She brought her finger up to her lips in a motion to quiet him. Her lips didn’t move yet he heard her say, “I am the one for you.”
The beauty leaned over him, her long hair draping him in a coverlet of warmth. He looked into her eyes. Those eyes, there is something about those eyes.
She placed her wrist on his lips and heard her say, “Drink and live.”
He was too weak to do anything else. He closed his eyes and took which she offered so freely. His nostrils filled with the scents of benzoin and orange blossoms. The warm ambrosia of her blood tasted sweeter than the finest navel oranges he had ever sampled. He moaned, then moaned again as his body reacted instantly to her life giving blood. His pulse quickened, his heart skipped a couple of beats and his erection grew to its full length yet it remained hidden behind the zipper of his pants. Having his angel on top of him, feeding him, in real life and not in a dream, was beyond his wildest fantasy. Raphael knew in that one moment she was the only woman for him and he would go to his grave before he took another.
About the Author:
V.S. Nelson has always enjoyed reading stories with strong relationships and happy endings so it’s not surprising she found herself writing across the romance genre.
Landing in Arizona, after an exciting teaching career, which took her to the Middle East for several years, she lives in Arizona where she spend most of my time making love to her computer while writing, editing or researching, seven to ten hours a day. The days she’s not writing, you will find her with my critique partners at Starbucks, attending or presenting a workshop or at a RWA meeting.
Being a Native American woman and a Scorpio, she’s always had a fondness for history, mythology, the occult, and the unexplained events which have occurred on this world we call home. It was no wonder she found herself writing a paranormal series.
She enjoys hearing from readers, fans and people with similar interests. They are more than welcome to contact her through her website http://www.authorvsnelson.com

While Jared might not be the biological father of his niece and nephew, he is their guardian, and is experiencing what it is like to raise young children.
Enjoy!!
What have I done? Jared yanked Dylan off the top of the fridge, holding him under his arm as the kid tried to wiggle free. “Superman can fly. You can’t. If you jump from that high, you’re going to get hurt.”
Once the boy stopped squirming, Jared set him down and rushed over to his niece, who had decided to scribble on his white cell phone with a marker. “Madison, I know you love everything pink, but my phone does not need a makeover.”
He grabbed the marker and she squealed, escaping under the table and down the hall clutching his phone. His morning had just begun. He couldn’t even take a leak without the kids finding some kind of trouble. Yes, they went to daycare while he worked, but beyond the hours of nine to five, they were all his, and on weekends, he had no pardon. Why on Earth had he thought he could raise two preschoolers on his own?
The doorbell rang.
He glanced down the hall toward the bedrooms, where an ominous silence reigned. With the children quiet, they had to be plotting their next mission to destroy his sanity. Or perhaps they’d already started. Shrugging, he headed for the door, risking a future disaster to see who stood on his porch.
Dylan came charging at him, his dark eyes wide, reminding him of his sister when she was a child. “Someone’s at the door. Who is it, Uncle Jared?”
The boy skidded straight across the slippery linoleum, his body slamming into Jared’s knees.
Jared stumbled back, trying to regain his balance, and grasped the doorknob. The latch clicked open. Losing his footing again, he stumbled to the floor, his nephew landing on top of him. Groaning, he glanced up at the woman standing above him; his former commander’s wife. “Can I help you, Mrs. Collins?
She lifted Dylan and balanced him on her hip. “From the look of things, I think I can help you.” Slipping off her shoes, she lined them on the mat beside the rest of the footwear and continued into the house. “I’m giving you the day off.”
What? He’d dreamed about time to himself since the day after his niece and nephew had arrived, but had accepted that would never happen. Not until the preschoolers were old enough to stay on their own, anyway.
He hopped to his feet, shut the door, and followed them into the living room. Madison had materialized out of nowhere, to join her brother, the pair of them sitting on either side of Mrs. Collins, their lopsided halos balancing atop their horns. Why couldn’t they sit as still when no one else was around?
Slumping onto a chair, he leaned back and sighed. “How do you do it? How do you make them turn off?”
She chuckled. “I’m a guest. Trust me when I say kids always behave better around people they don’t see every day. Back to why I’m here. My daughter says every time she sees you grocery shopping, you look ready to explode.”
He didn’t remember seeing the commander’s teenage daughter, but any out-of-the-house excursions with the kids resulted in him trying to get back home as soon as possible. He tried to avoid running into anyone he knew. “I’m still getting used to having Madison and Dylan here. It’s been quite a change.”
The woman wrapped an arm around each child and snuggled them closer to her. “I always found I was a better mother when I had time away from my kids. I came back to them with a new focus and less stressed. But I had family around to take them here and there. Since you don’t, I’m here to give you a break.”
As much as he needed the respite, he worried about leaving his niece and nephew with someone else. What would they do to poor Mrs. Collins? “I don’t know….”
“I raised three kids with Ernie in the Marine Corps. Two are away at college, and my baby is a senior in high school. I’ll be fine.”
He stared at the children, resentful of their sudden change in behavior. He needed to get away for a couple of hours. “Okay, you’re right. I’ll go get groceries and return right after.”
She shook her head. “Not today. You’re taking the rest of the day off. You need it.”
“No, I—”
“Think of me as part of your team, Jared. That means you have to show some trust. I’ll be by every Saturday to give you some time to yourself. Today, though, I’ve planned something extra special for you.”
Oh God, what had she done?
The woman rose from the couch and handed him an envelope. “Ernie said you liked hockey, so we bought you a ticket to go see the hometown play this afternoon.”
All right! He hadn’t been to a match in…forever. But a ticket? “I’m going by myself?”
Her gaze shifted to the left before she returned eye contact.
Deception.
“No, your ticket will take you to a suite, and you’ll have a space in the underground parking garage. Others will meet you there.”
His heart raced in anticipation. Would he enjoy the game with his former squad? It had been so long since he’d seen any of them. “Okay, I’ll go.”
Mrs. Collins grinned. “Great. Go get ready. And be sure to dress nice.”
Nice? For the guys? Yeah, right. It was hockey.

My Sexy Saturday from Another Night, Another Planet #scifi #romance #newrelease
Hello everyone! I’m back with another My Sexy Saturday post. Every Saturday, published and unpublished authors will be sharing 7 words, sentences, or paragraphs from a work-in-progress or an already published story. Today, I’m going to share an excerpt from my new release, Another Night, Another Planet.
Here is the first (or maybe not) time Ava and Nate meet:
Ava’s cheeks burned as she gazed at the naked man who’d drawn back the curtain. Nate. Her first lover. The first guy to break her heart. Tanned skin covered his muscular body. He’d kept his hair short and even his nether region was trimmed to show off his large cock. By far the most gorgeous man she had ever seen, improved even more over the star cycles, he watched her, his face void of any expression.
Yet, she could think of nothing to say to the man she’d given her virginity to, so long ago. Would he even want to be with her after dumping her as a teen? And how could she be with him again? He’d treated her the same as the other guys in her past, used her then ditched her when he’d had his fill.
Overwhelmed by the heat rushing through her body from his scrutiny, she longed for a blanket or towel to hide under, but nothing lay within her reach. She covered her breasts—what little she had—and her pubic area.
If he’d been a complete stranger, she would have loved for him to ravage her body, but not now. “Um, can I get a robe or something?”
Her question seemed to snap everyone from their frozen states. Jacobus rushed to the hot tub to grab her a veech robe. The Elatian woman pushed on her client’s chest, though she didn’t have much luck in moving him.
“Natazekial, you need to return to the massage table. I am not finished with you yet.”
He ducked past his Adamo. “It’s Nate, and I’m definitely finished.” Then he stood chest to chest with Jacobus. “This is the woman Madame Evangeline set me up with.” He grabbed the bottle of lotion from the other man. “Since she’s my date, I should be the one rubbing her down.”
